This is a Victorinox Forester M Grip, it is a popular model and is still in production. There are three other Forester models without a one-handed blade, and a few other 111mm pocket knives from Victorinox with similar features, including the well-known Swiss Soldier's Knife 08, which is similar to the Forester M Grip except for the color of the scale, the Philips screwdriver instead of the corkscrew, and the partial serration.

    Great video,
    thanks. Like the knife.
I just bought the Forester Wood 111 mm plain edge lock blade knife with saw.
    Great modifications on yours.
I like this style as I already have the 111 mm Skipper knife with 1/2 serrated blade & marlin spike but no saw.

I just picked one up, Amazon has it for $39. I love it, I just can't get behind a serrated blade on a field knife.

Nice review. I had a one hand trekker, non-serrated version once, and I think that version is also discontinued. I have never had a 111mm with that type of handle, usually I gravitate towards scales with tools. thanks for sharing.

Hi from the UK. Enjoyed the video Mark. I like this knife because of the plain edge on the blade. This model is still available to buy it seems. Direct from Victorinox in the UK it currently retails at £45 ($55).

@@Aaron-uv5nq Yes, 😄 and probably the highest prices too, I recently paid 49 Swiss francs (~55 US$) for the Forester M Grip. 😐 But I would have paid even more, it's worth every cent (Rappen). 😊

I prefer the straight edge to the serrated one. Maybe Victorinox should have kept both available. One thing I didn’t understand is the lack of the tweezers and toothpick on this model. I replaced the toothpick with a Firefly ferro rod on my knives, it’s really useful.

The two-component handle scales do not allow tweezers and toothpicks, but they are impact-resistant. A FireAnt in the corkscrew also works.

Nice mod on the canopener. Adds another use to the tool. When using it to open cans, does it ever contact that notch and dull the edge?

Made me nervous watching you run your thumb along the length of the blade 😅😂

The sewing eyes are barely used. Eliminating the hole was a marketing decision.
There are enough straight edge 111mm Victorinox models. Lots of bushcrafters like Vic serrations. With a rounded Vic diamond sharpening stick those serrations are fairly quick and easy to touch up. And slow to dull.
The Hunter XT has the same straight edge, with a curved fully serrated blade. And the same saw, and corkscrew. No other tools. Both blades have their own seperate liner locks, making the Hunter XT one of the strongest, most rigid Victorinox model.
    Cheers!

You can buy the Victorinox 111mm scales in nylon with the slots for tweezers and toothpick and swap them out. Less than $20

Hi, I have the regular Forester fo few years now, great tool, I modified it a bit more than yours and pretty much I use it as a beater knife. Holding up dough, never let me down. I pear it up with my Victorinox Swisstool Spirit X. I've had a One Handed Trecker with serrated blade, find it very easy to use and as easy to sharpen as a straight blade. Check my channel if you like I have few videos about Victorinox. Great channel, you've got subscriber👍. Cheers
