I had the red forrester but i just couldnt get used to the look of the one handed blade. So i changed it for the regular forrester with the wood handle scales. They are both good tools though

If you not wearing gloves or want the tactical look the regular blade is a better fit in the pocket and less threatening to others

As you I got the Soldiers Knife 08 first, then the Forester M Grip. Love both, but prefer the M Grip due to the straight blade, no serrations.

Unless you are cutting rope or webbing the plain blade is better

No way there is only two comments on this, anyway should I get this knife or the ranger grip 78?

Tough question I have both knives but have used the 111mm Victorinox a lot more than my ranger grip. The thumb hole on the Victorinox is easier to open especially with gloves but the Ranger is easier and safer to close due to the side button. The Victorinox 111mm is really pushing the size envelope for carrying inside a pocket the Ranger is to big and needs a belt sheath hope this helps regards Mike

I looked at both and for the price difference I chose the Forester M grip. The Ranger grip was about $20 us more expensive and I saw little difference, same blade, same saw.

I want to order one online.
But what is "M grip"? Is it a rubberized material? I'm not so sure about rubberized materials because where I stay, when I keep such things, they melt over time and become sticky.
Is "M grip" a plastic or a rubber?

It’s softer than the regular scales I have had the 111mm Soldier since 2009 and haven’t had any problems with the grips

What advantage does a partially serrated blade provide over no serration? Does it still cut when blunt? Not sure if i want to go for the soldier yet.

It cuts rope and webbing well but it’s harder to sharpen but if you want to work with wood a plain blade is better
