      @markcoffman494 2 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@John..18 honestly those are two completely different camps of knifes. The Rockstead is a higher end knife for sure, but it has a harder steel. The finish is of a knife that’s a show piece. The Chris Reeve is a working knife that’s well made, to the highest degree. I prefer the Reeve primarily because it’s what it is, a working knife that’s well made. The rockstead, is a dress knife that’s well made. I don’t need that.

      @@mcsquirgle I ended up buying a preowned one from probably the late 1800s and just sharpened it up and it does a pretty darn good job. Of course I need to learn how to sharpen it a little little bit better but after I get it down, I think it will be a great shaver. I think what you need to do is get a nice preowned one and go that route. If you really want a good one that’s brand new. They can be pretty expensive around the $180 mark.

    I'm honestly really excited for bladeless SAK models and I don't think it's pandering at all. Not only would this be a huge win for carry-on-only travelers like me, but it's actually better for a lot of dedicated EDC guys. Lots of people in the EDC community prefer to carry dedicated folding knives, and many of them won't even consider a SAK for that reason. But if the new bladeless models were marketed as companions to a dedicated EDC knife, without any redundant blades, I could see a whole lot more people who would be interested in a well-made compact tool that offered a variety of additional functions, without duplicating the blade they're already carrying.

      @@markcoffman494 That’s not what it says here, but honestly I’m not as well versed as you are!! I just own several standards from this era (actually 86-92 most commonly) and I’ve seen them with and without the tooth pick or tweezers AND without - I have always seen the key ring ones classified as Spartans. I’m curious when this distinction was drawn if now they’re called Spartan, but at a time they were considered the same model? I’m aware the standard has since been discontinued in favor of the Spartan.

So you could technically have an economy Spartan standard or a Victorinox Spartan standard. But that’s just from my research.
