  • This week we consider how riding a motorcycle can affect your ability to carry concealed. Your clothing can greatly restrict your ability to access the firearm, and you may want to consider carrying differently on days you're looking to ride.
Thanks for watching. New videos post every Thursday!

You are welcome, I did leave a couple of topics or concepts out as our viewers have shared. Read those comments, there are some excellent ideas in them. Thanks for watching and ride safe.

Good video. As you said adaptability is the key to riding and carrying. I carry several different firearms in a variety of ways depending on the weather, clothing, etc.... Nothing is perfect but IMO it all beats not carrying.

Two T shirts and a belly band? Not in the southern heat, just not gonna happen.

I've been carrying a pistol on a bike for forty five years. I use a horizontal shoulder holster (miami vice style) that rides high, close to the armpit with a commander length 1911 or Glock 19. Over that I wear a light summer vest that I wear weather on the bike or not for concealment. Then I'm cool to remove my leather jacket. With jacket zipped half way I can reach in an draw pretty quick. ( you don't un-snap a horz. holster, you drive your thumb into the snap as you grab the pistol. One motion.)

Thanks so much for that tip. I love the Miami Vice rigs but had never used one on a bike. I was hoping people would chime in and give people some fresh ideas. Thanks for taking the time to do it and I hope you continue to view!

I've been riding and carrying using an IWB holster. I wear a vest over a tee-shirt in warmer weather and it keeps the weapon concealed. However on hot summer weather the tee will ride up a bit. My ride is a Heritage with a windshield maybe that keeps the t-shirt from blowing up. I do live in the northeast so it does not get really hot but for a few days a year. I am looking forward to more of your videos on this. Great channel. Be safe

Slow talking, watched at 1.75x. Some good advice thank you. Thank you for the links. I have to say you sound paranoid though, and it comes off a bit trite saying "do what you have to do." So many guys love the ego boost of wearing this stuff, be realistic

Thanks for the info, im trying to find a way that works with full gear in addition to an airbag vest. The first year of riding i rarely carried except when it could be kept in the lock box because it was parked in a secure area or i could transfer it to my person(its a bike that actually has a locking compartment in the bike itself where most peoples gas tank is). I haven't felt the need to have it as much on the bike due to my ability to leave a situation much easier than in a car in addition to not stopping between work and home however its definitely something that i want to try figuring out. Ultimately i question any change in gear for the gun such as downgrading gloves simply due to the likelihood of wrecking vs actually needing a weapon.

When i ride with people i have never ridden before, i tell them where i carry my gun. I ask them in case i have an accident, to secure the weapon.
People i regularly ride with know to look for my gun first to make sure to is secured.

so with the shoulder holster you talk about undoing the strap is an issue. however your belly band has this same issue

Is it just completely unheard of to mount a holster to the handlebars then switch to person when parked? I understand the danger of a wreck or the firearm dislodging from the holster on the bike but seems like that may be more convenient. Pretty inexperienced on the subject so just trying to learn. May even be illegal to do that for all I know? I have 8.5” risers with a fairing so a lot of space to secure a holster.

I am humbled you like the channel and appreciate your viewership. The belly band does take some getting used to and if I only had enough hair for a bun....... You stay safe as well and have a great Memorial Day!

You are wearing the shoulder holster backwards. Your problem starts there. As for concealment just wear it inside your first zippered layer under your jacket.
Another to consider is a man who had bought my old bike did a chest plant off of it. His injuries came from the eleven breaks in his ribs outlining his cellphone in his chest pocket. Forward carry is problematical.
