- Going over my thought process for spending $10,000 on PSA grading fees this past month. Submitting over 700 sports cards to PSA at their $15.99 per card special. Fingers crossed 🤞
Awesome! I LOVE turning these $3-10 cards into $60-150. Looks like you have a TON of great stuff to do that with!
I just got back an order of 132 recently and got about 80% gem rate on the ones I had marked down as being 10's. Only 2 cards in the order I had marked as 9s that came back below that. Great way to fund bigger cards or build a stronger PC.
Definitely agree! And congrats on 80% of the ones you thought were 10’s got the 10. That’s solid, and show nice pre-sub skills. And gives me hope the graders will be true and fair 🙌
@littlevictoriessportscards197 once I swallowed my pride and started looking for the flaws I missed on subs that did bad, I started doing a lot better! Lol
Sent about 220 in this week that I spent even more time on. Super excited to see the results!

Holy moly, what a goldmine you’ve got there. Those cheap Jordans are amazing for ROI if they gem. I think consignment is a good route to take to get some money in your hands quickly. Great advice on really scrutinizing cards. Can’t wait to see the results!

Great advice at the end! I find myself struggling to not send a card all the time! Especially during PSA specials, I may ignore those slight dings

I think that even if you all of those Jordans and Kobes were to get nines, you would still easily get $20 a piece and move them really quickly!
That was my thinking too 👌 If I can get at least grading fee back on the cards that get 9’s then I should be golden
Never live beyond your means! Great advice, LV! Another one for the NFTers is, if you don't hold it, you don't own it! Never put yourself in debt for cards - but if you have the wisdom and finances without needing a loan, betting on yourself can have great results. You'll do well, I'm looking forward to the reveal!

hah, we are in the same boat...I literally have 80 or so 5k count boxes full of star cards....been spending the last month going thru them yet again, this time pulling out any inserts or oddball set cards....mainly on the hunt for Fleer inserts from the early 90s...I saw Jordan Pro-Vision cards and Team MVP cards go flying by in your first stack you showed...I love this kind of stuff as it hits me between the eyes...I have tons of refractors to grade as well...would like something better than 15.99 per card tho...looking for 13.99 if possible...as far as your issue with funding, why not sell the cards you showed and then buy them back once you sell enough of your freshly graded cards to be able to buy them back?
Luckily sales were great this past month so I only had to sell one of my big PC cards to fund everything, but yeah, I like your idea of just selling and buying back with the grading profits 🙌 Sounds like you’ve been having fun going through all your boxes…I hope grading fees get down to $13.99 for us 🤞 Best of luck always. Good luck on your submissions! It’s so true I do that a lot where I push that card through in hopes of a 10 though knowing it’s getting a 9. Push it through cause it’s a cool card. I need to be a little more discipline. Great knowledge as always and thanks for sharing.

Other option: Set up at a card show to move a chunk of the $5-$50.
Also, do you have a preferred consignor (for your PC big cards) to sell for you?
I don’t use a consigner for my bigger stuff…I just sell myself on eBay 👌
But great call on the card show option moving the $5-50 buck stuff 👍 My plan is to start doing shows again when my kids get a lil older.

I feel like the larger orders go through PSA a lot faster as well. Like you said, be confident in yourself and do all the prep work, and then it shouldn't be an issue with a grader.

I got 4 orders, soon to be 5, with PSA now. One should be coming back on Monday and the rest are all over the place. Lol.
I did my 4 order every other week and I'm doing my last one in July but paying June prices due to the 30 day rule.
I hope you get the grades you want 🤞 Keep me posted how you do! That 30-Day rule js handy to use 👌
Send in a few cards in at a time, maybe like 20 cards or so. I wouldn't send all in to grade knowing you don't have the money to do so.

Ebarassing amount of cards to grade, we need to get together and talk. I have over 3000 cards that I need to grade. I plan to make a video this week, when I do we need to compare and contrast. IF you ever want to do a dual live stream where we talk about it would be into that as well. Take care.

@@littlevictoriessportscards197 I be one of those...currently have about 3400 graded cards and have 400k star cards that I am continually going thru to pull out the next batch to be graded...always a fun process...you have to like cards and enjoy the grading process to go thru what we go thru :)

Unfortunately not anymore:( I used to have a ton of his stuff cuz he was looking like a HOF’er but once his career was cut short I sold all his stuff. He was a damn good receiver! 👌
