I have heard that PSA cares more about left to right centering than top to bottom. Do you still think it’s still the case that PSA is more strict on top and bottom centering today ?

PSA needs to add to their grading standards that they grade superstars more strict or else their grading standards they have posted are not correct.

On the Embiid, right under the prizm logo, there’s a diagonal line. Is the line right under the die cute you reference just part of the card design (albeit horrible placement) ?

Awesome video! It’s been pretty cool watching your videos and seeing your sets grow. I also wanted to say thanks for inspiring me to start my own sets. I recently completed my 1997 Hoops High Voltage set and will be doing a video on it as soon as I get my Jordan in the mail. I think the next one I will try to complete is the 1996 Star Date 2000 set. Thansk for always sharing and congrats on how far you’ve gotten!

Im new to the hobby how do you justify the cost of grading cards for your pc?

SGC and PSA are now the same grades. PSA employee told me that grades from sgc are proofed by PSA graders. The grades should be the exact same as of Sept of this year and onward!!!

Really enjoyed the video and the cards of course! Keep it up. Biggest lesson is patience. Dont feel the need to buy or sell every card immediately! Especially if you are chasing a set or rainbow

Awesome set that you are collecting! I wish you the best in 2025 to get more cards added to the set. I started small and decided to collect all of Joe Montana's Topps card set in PSA 8 or better. So far I just need the 1981, 1982 and 1986 cards. Its doable I just haven't pulled the trigger on the cards because of the holidays. Thanks for sharing your video as always!

I don’t sell my refractors because I hoard them..but I’ll be honest I did sell my gold and two black lebrons via major Auctionhouse at the high and turned them into two free & clear rental properties couldn’t of been a better return for my children’s financial freedom. I’ve never been a Lebron fan so it was easy to move them at the hype..I think you will get there eventually it’s all a journey plus I think his cards will have more of a pullback than they’ve already had. Keep pushing refractor ❤

PSA grades that ‘04 lebron xfractor pretty generously and has a high gem rate. Your card looks clean. I don’t even see the blue dot you’re talking about. Regrade ? 🧐

Ever thought about having your subscribers assist you with finding these cards. Maybe say I’m looking for these cards. Once you have them then move to the next few cards

That’s definitely an inspiring video. I totally understand what you’re saying you feel like there’s no way because you’re going in against people that have far more money than you and you’re doing your best to plug along. I feel that way I’m number three on LeBron James, Master list, and I feel that I’m never going to make it to the top because it’s just so daunting of a task but I chug along, and I think you should do the same don’t give up no matter what, just because you’re not a millionaire doesn’t mean you can’t do it it’s just harder

Fantastic set. I started the 1985 Topps football way back in 2004 and I'm #2 on the set registry. I have 356 of 396 in PSA 10 and this is the 1st year that I haven't added a PSA 10 to my set because there just aren't any out there in the wild. But like you said Little Victories maybe someday I'll get a perfect set with all 10's. It's the process that's joyful

Your story is alot like mine. Collected alot through my childhood. Then I got back into cards in 2003 chasing Lebron rookies. I ended up opening some 03 Topps Chrome. Pulled the Wade base got it graded in 2019 sold at peak in 2020 for 1500 in a 10. Good luck on that Gold set! Impressive so far

A friend of mine grades with PSA all the time, as he sets up at flea markets and card shows, but mostly flea markets, people will just walk up with collections to sell and he found out that a large percentage of the cards he purchased from people that were in the "screw-down" holders, that he submitted to PSA would come back "altered." He would simply submit them to SGC and 100% of them were graded without any issue. He submitted a card, he found in a small collection he purchased from a guy, who approached his table at the flea market, that was selling in a PSA 8 for $60,000. He contacted Goldin, and they were interested, so he submitted it to PSA, who sent it back "Altered." Goldin immediately back out and he sent it to SGC and it obtained an SGC 8. PSA is frustrating as heck sometimes, as have another friend, who purchased a small modern card collection(mid to late 90's) that had several duplicates of the same card. He submitted them all to PSA for grading and all ten cards were identical in condition, as he examined each card's condition, thoroughly, using one of those magnifying glass with the bright light, yet PSA only graded eight of the ten and oddly sent two back as "altered." He resubmitted those two cards, no with SGC, not with CGC, nor BGS, but with PSA and guess what? They were properly graded! This is why I was going to submit all of my cards with SGC, until they were acquired "wink wink" by Collectors, PSA's parent company!

While serving in the military, I was able to be stationed in several cities across the nation and the first thing I always did was look up a local sports cards shop and find out when the next sports cards show was being held. Now, i never got out of the hobby completely, but due to military service, i couldn't collect like I wanted to, because I simply didn't have the space. But, back in 1999, while stationed at Naval Station Norfolk, I attended a sports cards show, with my white three row shoe box full of top loaded cards and i was ready to makes some deals. Anyway, I made a trade with a dealer for cards that I literally cannot remember for hobby packs and I pulled what was at that time the best, most highly-touted rookie card, which was an insert/parallel Tim Couch rookie card! People literally started to gather around, and dealers were asking, "What are you asking for it?" I eventually made a deal with the dealer, who initially traded with me for the hobby packs and he offered me $400.00 cash, plus $200.00 in trade. Of course I accepted, even after people were suggesting i wait until the card comes out in Beckett. Sadly, for him, Tim Couch ended up being a bust, and i went to each show every month for the rest of my time stationed in Norfolk and he never told me what he did with the card, i hope he flipped it, because it did indeed come out in Beckett for more than he offered and paid me. The next time I experienced a feeling like that was while participating an online break, right here on TH-cam and was initially feeling down, because I wasn't randomized the team I wanted, but I ended up hitting the best and most expensive card in the break, a Juraj Slafkovsky Rookie patch Auto that at that time had three sells for $2,200, $2,500 and $2,800 and that was RAW! I still have it, in a sealed One-Touch, but I am afraid to grade it, because it's so thick and PSA's up charges.

Nothing is better than the hunt! You can get that a little bit shopping online, but nothing, absolutely nothing beats going to sports cards shops and especially sports cards shows! Even today, "THAT" feeling I get when I walk into sports cards shows in Tallahassee, Orlando, Tampa, Jacksonville, Atlanta, and Virginia Beach, takes me back to my punk kid days, when the value of a card didn't matter, just the player and "that" sound it made in your bike spokes...at least before it rained, as i was born and raised in Florida, so we would drop .25 cents a pack, several times a day sometimes for baseball cards.

I like the mix of older cards with modern cards in this submission. That 86 Topps Football set is hard to grade. I got a 5 on my Jerry Rice card. The 2013 Prizm golds due look nice. I prefer the 2014 set overall myself. Thanks for sharing as always.

Do you charge a service to look at people's collections and give them your opinion on what cards they should grade ? If you don't you should brother , you have a keen eye for gem 10 refractors

Nothing, i hate more than 6s and 8s on modern pack pulled cards oneday. im gonna figure out what these graders are seeing im not yet.. i sent 8 cards. i did ok. I got 3 10s 1 9.5.... 1 8.5...2 9s ... and a 6 so.. so im cracking 3, maybe 4 out, but i dimed the biggest card in the submission, so im happy about that
