Hello, have you gotten your CAS? (Teesisde university) how long did it take to get it after payment of deposit? How much tuition balance is added to your pof? Please I need this info urgently (January, 2022)
@@ibi7955 no I don't think any social work student has received CAS. A few of us go emails last week asking us to upload our police character certificate. Still waiting for confirmation letter. If you haven't gotten yours please do so and upload on your portal.

Thank you so much favour for this insight, now I'm really glad to be a social work student, I didn't know how good this course was until I started doing my own research and now I'm in my final year in University of Benin I've seen reasons to do my masters degree outside Nigeria or even study social work if I've the opportunity to school somewhere else.

Of course there is. Social Work is a profession, but health and social care is a broad and several works and profession are under it.

Child protection has the highest pay and also the most stressful. If you need a better pay, you consider working as an agency worker if you are permanent, you can survive but with the rise of the cost of living, it’s not much but that’s depends on your situation as well.

Hello! Thanks very much for your meaningful video. I have a small question about interview, could you please share me your opinion? That is, should I mention my past mental health problems in university's social work interview? I feel that having this experience will give me a better understanding of other clients with mental health, but I am equally concerned that it will affect the university's view of me.
Hi,
As long as you relate the experience to your aspirations to study and practice social work, it’s okay. I’ll advise that you don’t dwell on the negatives and don’t create the impression that it will have negative impact on your studies or future practice. Since you said it’s past MH problems, ensure you are able to let them know it’s in the past and it won’t affect your studies. Talk about your victories; how you managed it, how it probably made you resilient (if it did) cos in social work you need to be resilient.
Don’t worry, they won’t judge you for having MH condition in the PAST as long as you don’t give them the impression that it might affect you during your studies . You can use it well to your advantage during the interview. All the best xx

Is it possible to get admission in Jan 2023 in msc social work as I think I am already late for Sept 2022 application? I studied Accounting.
You are not late for MSC , but most schools will prefer if u have 2.1 in ur first degree, also they will prefer if u have relevant experience or if u studied something relevant to social work . The final deadline June 2022 . Most applications are done via UCAS. go online and check UCAS ( Note: MSC social work is 2years in most universities)

Of course they are. Ensure your voluntary experience is in your CV and present it send your personal experience well enough in your application (personal statement and during interview)

Yes you have experience and a degree so should be eligible to study a masters in social work
I am a child protection social worker. Those who are asking from outside the country, please social work in the U.K. is different from social work in the U.K. please it is not about improving people’s lives. I don’t know how to explain it, university will only prepare you 20%. Social work is the most frustrating job in the U.K. Don’t consider it if you want peace of mind.
For all I know no work no job on earth is easy but let me ask, how frustrating is it actually. Does it affect you mentally?

@@emmanuelavie5735 It is difficult to elaborate here but to answer your question, yes it does affect you mentally because you don’t switch off like nursing you are constantly thinking about work and you take work home. According to research, career length for a social worker in the UK is only 7 years .

If you are looking at studying in the UK, you don't need that. It's Canada and the US that requires that. You can use WES (hope I correct)
In Nigeria I work with children with special needs children like autism, can I study social works. I will be coming to the UK for September 2022 to study in scotland
Of course you can.
Certainly! You can work as a Children Social Worker within the Learning Disability and or Autism Teams. You may benefit from a refresher Social Work training to increase your knowledge, skills & experience to enable you to practice confidently. Best of luck!

You can!😊 Almost every course has transferable skills, just think and research about how you can relate them. Some universities accept 2.2 depending on your experience and how you are able to convince the admissions team

Social Work is a profession, whereas health and social care is an umbrella that covers different health related and social professions. This is probably the best way I can differentiate them.
