When babies begin the teeth, they have itchy gems nd the often scratch with things around them. When babies scratch they pick things off the ground, around them, this often lead to ingestion of germs. Now, when you environment is clean or you intentionally Sterlize your baby's tops and provide an absolutelyclean environment for your baby, you limit the chances of germs ingestion. Summarily put. NHS had simply told you there are no research evidences. I would say both parties have given you prognosis from their observations. Do you discard the evidences of "our mothers" because it wasnt done in a lab?

Please, Teething does not cause anything but While teething, there are some physical ad metabolic changes that cause the baby to show signs of being unwell, but will usually go away without any treatment or with only PCM. Also note that, teething comes in stages, they may not show any signs for the first time, but subsequently you may notice rising temperatures, crying etc.. Some kids however may not show the signs heavily. I'm not a doctor, am not qualified to say all these, its just my observation and experience. In Nigeria there are medications for baby teething, I think our mothers are right.

I think the NHS website just mean there has been no real research into the symptoms of teething ..however millions of Mums and Grandmother's know that tummy upsets and a temperature are ABSOLUTELY teething symptoms .As a child's mother you 100% know them better than anyone else .Go with your instincts 😊
