    From Wikipedia:
Texas City is a city in Galveston County in the U.S. state of Texas. Located on the southwest shoreline of Galveston Bay, Texas City is a busy deepwater port on Texas's Gulf Coast, as well as a petroleum-refining and petrochemical-manufacturing center. The population was 51,898 at the 2020 census, making it the third-largest city in Galveston County, behind League City and Galveston. It is a part of the Houston metropolitan area. The city is notable as the site of a major explosion in 1947 that demolished the port and much of the city.

Warning: Don't move to Texas City. It's becoming trashier by the day. We just sold our house and moved away. Why? Take a drive down there and see for yourself.
If you buy in Texas City, understand that your property value will be under constant assault because they allow people to keep junk in their front yards. They allow people to park their vehicles and trailers on the grass in their front yards. (Many residents did the lawful thing and poured a concrete addition to their driveway, thus expanding their parking capacity to avoid parking on the lawn. They're FURIOUS that the city is allowing junked up yards.) They don't enforce noise ordinances. They don't enforce fireworks laws. Dogs and cats are terrified for several days around July 4 and New Years Day. Too many city employees have an adversarial attitude toward residents.
It was a great place to grow up, but it's gone downhill in recent years. And don't get me started on crime. TC is no longer safe. It's so hard to watch that dear city decline before our eyes.
