Im from México and there's a long time I didnt come to Brownsville... this city brings me some memories because I used to come here almost every year when I was in junior school... blessings !!!
@@capheviahe93 ironically its one of the poorest cities in texas and the united states as a whole, definitely not that clean but it has improved a lot!
I moved to Houston 10 years ago I just realized how historic Brown-Town is and palm trees 🌴 the birds are so unique. My mother born in Edinburgh tx would tell me in 1960s it was all empty Brownsville grew a lot in 20 years my family owns a house on west st charles some of them houses are over 100 years old
@ConwayTwitter that’s cool I wish big cities would restore them or at least not knock them down like in Houston. I meant historic from the Mexican American war
I used to live in Harlingen in the 80’s … then came to Seattle, Washington. Until today , I miss Texas 😢 I’m thinking about going back . Life in Washington is super expensive. I make good money here but I miss Texas . Here is beautiful, mountains, water all over the place , lakes , I am very close to the Canadian border and I have been there many times as well ,but still miss The Rio Grande Valle . How is crime I. Brownsville ?
For drivers, it takes a particularly determined person to drive to Brownsville. It's similar to Seattle and Miami in regard to being at one of the geographical far ends of the country. Anybody that drives this far really wants to be there. And the car sick need not apply!
I grew up in Brownsville for years every single weekend we would go to south padre Island its way better than here in Galveston brown water SPI water is blue and wearing a suit or tie is illegal 😂
mcallen is more so that type of vibe. but brownsville has the second main utrgv campus, and with that comes a sense of culture and youth unfounded in other smaller towns within the RGV. Mcallen just has more big city amenities (foreign markets, indian, pakistani, arabic, israeli, korean, japanese, chinese, filipino, etc. more diverse ethnic food options, more well known stores) but brownsville has a historic charm that mcallen only gives in small doses. both are underrated in my opinion, but the weather is awful.

Beautiful city, Brownsville Texas
This is my hometown, grandma still has a jewelery store in downtown
This town so clean, full of cars, America so rich.

Moved out from Brownsville in 94 and moved to Dallas. I miss it. Hopefully I’ll retire in the valley in a few years.
Precioso lugar ❤

Missing my hometown 😭
OMG...is "EL Kress" still open? We used to have one in EL Paso!
Hasta me da vergüenza vivir en Matamoros, nunca he ido a Brownsville y por lo que veo es el doble de mejor que Matamoros 🥹
Some of these avenues remind me of Puerto Rico! Mayaguez/Rincon side Nice.
That's what I was gonna say lol. It reminds me a bit of aguadilla around camuy or hatillo 😂
Grew up in Browsville; 05:24 was Central Junior High School when I was there.
What year?
Me too. 82-83

I wonder which school was Brownsville’s first I’m assuming Hanna or Russell looks historic
It was Central Middle School back in my day. Gang ridden school full of kids claiming to be part of Ramireño hood
Is brownsville prettier than mcallen tx ??

Hey I'm from Denton TX is Brownsville a hipster area? I wanna move there for the beach
No I wouldn't describe it as hipster. Looks more like a primarily working class town. Maybe South Padre Island.
