    You absolutely do not need to use heat pads or heating lamps for tarantulas. As long as you're comfortable in your home, your tarantulas will be comfortable.

    I think unless your home is under 65 degrees at all times no one should use a heat mat or basking bulb ever,! I have 50+ tarantulas and my house is 70-72 all the time and they are thriving. I only say this because heat mats are prone to overheating unless they have a thermostat and basking bulbs produce intense light that tarantulas hate, both options aren't really needed IMO.

      @@Soarific don't worry. I got my first when I was 4 lol. Sadly he did pass away due to me leaving his enclosure in a place that was too hot. However I got another one when I was 6 and 9 years later she is still doing great. Hope she can live an even longer and happier life. Anyways, good luck.

    • @Soarific
      @Soarific 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      agentpeck I got one, curly hair and I’ve had it for a few weeks or more now! It’s been buried away most of that time and I’m yet to see it. Do you still throw in food when it burrows and doesn’t come out? I’m so confused, and I keep filling it’s water bowl up but it evaporates within 30 mins!

    • @agentpeck9250
      @agentpeck9250 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@Soarific depending on the food type, I would or would not throw food in, for example, superworms tend to burrow fairly quickly, especially in soft and deep substrate, so I wouldn't recommend that you just drop the insect and hope for the best. It would burrow and soon become a dartling beetle. With something like a cricket or roach, it's a bit more safe to drop it near them. It is best to try and make movement at the dens entrance to attract the tarantula to the light where you can make sure it is eating. If you decide to drop the cricket or roach into its den without you being able to see the tarantula, then be sure to search for the prey item after about an hour as they tend to disrupt and even injure tarantulas. Also, the information in this video was pretty wrong. Do Not feed your tarantula 6 times a week. Once a week is best but 2 times a week is more than enough. For your water situation, I had a similar problem so what I did was I made my own lid for her tank with less ventilation. So maybe you should cover up Some of the holes in your ones enclosure. I also moved her cage to an area where she gets light but absolutely no direct sunlight. Hope I could help. Goodluck

    Great video, I just adopted my 2nd B.Albo yesterday.I do have to disagree with one detail when it comes to the molt process and that is humidity, they need plenty of internal hydration for a successful molt. Plenty of water and feed their prey fruits and veggies so their food is well hydrated.

    What would you suggest to keep the humidity at a reasonable level? I've read things about using peat moss and and keeping it damp?

    • @az_pit_viper4270
      @az_pit_viper4270 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You do not want to keep them in damp enclosures that will promote bacteria growth which can be fatal to them. Put a water dish in there and use a spray bottle to spray some water around the substrate and glass that will keep them happy, also don't use any sort of sponge in their water bowl either and lastly I would recommend using drinking or R.O. water for them and their enclosure as tap water may contain additives that could be harmful to them.

    • @reynaniteraven
      @reynaniteraven 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      savannamcbeatles20 best thing to do with Ts who are molting is to keep the area dark and in a quiet room and leave them alone. Helping may harm or worse.

    • @az_pit_viper4270
      @az_pit_viper4270 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, leave them be, just keep a water dish in there and spray the sides with water that is all the moisture they need. They are very vulnerable when they are molting. Also do not put any crickets or prey in there as they may attack it.

Love your video on the Flemish Giant Rabbit. We just got one last week and rabbit proofing our house is a bigger job than baby proofing our house for all 4 kids we have 😂😂😂.

    • @gfp221
      @gfp221 ปีที่แล้ว

      No. A tarantula will never recognize you, or even really see you. Tarantulas mostly see changes in light. They see through vibration and feel and taste. To them, you're either a threat or just something for them to walk on

Also it's not like a bee bite because bees sting!? You should do some research and not use tarantulas just to get on TH-cam and try and look pretty.
