Love the 80’s NY Jets jersey. They need to bring it back. This jersey should be the home jersey and Titans jersey the away jersey. KenO’Brien is so underrated and is the second best QB in their history.

      Pennington was better.

Namath, Pennington, O’Brien, Testaverde in that order

@@jamaaljoseph4275 Namath sucked , he was a turn over machine.
Don't 1 game from 55 years ago blind you.
Ken was Easily the best next too Pennington.
Vinny only had 1 good season and was hurt and sidelined more than he played.
Blackledge could fill as their 3rd best.

So sad Al Toon was on the way to the hall of fame if it wasn't for the concussions

    • @rustykuntz94
      @rustykuntz94 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

He had so many concussions, back when they didn't realize hoe serious those were. He would get knocked unconcious one week & back playing the next week.

Ken o'brien sure didn't help. O'brien always threw passes that were over Toon's head. Toon waa forced to extend his arms up to make a catch leaving him exposed and unprotected against a big hit.

Unfortunately for Jets fans, this season was another in a long line of disappointments. The Jets are in NY, the center of the world. Yet they haven't taken advantage of that fact since the days of Namath. They should have been able to build an elite franchise with all of the resources at their disposal these past 50+ years.

Leon Hess was an idiot when it comes to football. Woody Johnson isn't the worst owner in the world but they haven't hired the right people in the front office/scouting over the decades to properly build up the franchise for sustained winning.
Also the NFL became a capped league, and NY/NJ has very high taxes...you can't just throw $ at players

Weird yr for the Jets plenty of ups & downs. Joe Wlton should of been fired but the victory over the G men s@ved his job

The loss and the tie against the Chiefs REALLY got under my nerves.

@@markbrian7179 That right there was where the season began to spiral. KC was awful in 88 (4-11-1) and we tied them and lost to them in KC as both teams played in 88 with the old "last place schedule". Only 2 NFC teams Jets played were Detroit on the road and home of course against the Giants in the final week

Erik mcmillan was this team's best player by far. 8 interceptions, 2 for touchdowns, as a rookie

he was great...a larcenous ballhawking CB...unfortunately his career fizzled out quickly and he faded. By 1992 he wasn't very good anymore. After 1993 he was out of the league

Jets were a hard luck 8-7-1 that year. Pretty good team, but should've been better. Horrid late season fluke loss to KC and another tie to KC they should've won. Also had a tough 9-6 OT loss to Buffalo. This team should've been 11-5 or the very least 10-6

Those KC games cost the Jets a playoff spot (and it ended up costing KC the #1 pick and Troy Aikman).

Wow at 3:37 a zone blitz? Thought we didn’t see that for another 10 years at least from that point in 1988

  • @Fireyninjadog

This team in my eyes was better than 8-7-1. They had a pro bowl qb in ken o'brien who didn't make mistakes. They had a strong running game, and a good recieving corpe. Their defense also got 45 sacks, and 40 takeaways
