SkyHighGam3r Not just about FM towns but MAME / MESS apparently seems to cover several obscure platforms. However it needs knowledge of settings and folder structures Etc for retroarch to make it run. That’s the biggest problem, finding proper documentation for many of the old computer platforms covered by retroarch. But of course one could hope the other obscure platforms also get their own core one day.
Original Xbox Tutorial Progress is speeding up fast, and currently Jet Set Radio Future and MechAssault are nearly issue free. Seeing as how they, and a number of other exclusive titles to the Original Xbox are nigh unplayable outside the original hardware - I'd love to properly integrate it into launchbox.
Some of my favorite and recommended games for the system: Final Fight (1992) Akumajou Dracula (1993) Street Fighter II': Champion Edition (1993) Daimakaimura (1994)
Can you guys please do a video on how to emulate the Epoch Super Cassette Vision? I have tried and I can't get it to work on MESS or Launchbox. Thank you!
Ive followed the tutorials for this and the snes and Nintendo 64 rom and i get the game download but they show up as different languages andni hit play and ehtier nothing or error plz help
some games work... some I hear audio but no video... some work at first and then the screen goes black while playing but I still hear the audio..... any ideas on how to fix?
Yea this happens with me also , more games don’t work that do work, it’s beyond me how to get them working so i just uninstalled this core and deleted the games, hopefully one day they’re will be a tutorial video on how to get games working
How do you play games with more than 1 disk? Galaga 88 is 2 disks and I tried doing a Disk Swap after loading Disk 1 of 2 with disk 2 of 2 but how do I do it to make it work? After I loaded Disk 2 nothing happened. If I hit F12 it brings up a menu called SWITCH for PX68K Version "0.15+"that shows SYSTEM, RESET FDD00, FDD01,HDD00,HDD01 on FDD0 it shows the name of the file I loaded, FDD01 shows blank, if I select FDD01 and hit enter it brings up a empty Window.
My roms are zipped. When I attempted to import them in launch box, no files were imported. Any suggestions? I extracted a rom to see if it was a .dim file but it was not.
You said a mouthful. Launchbox looks nice, but takes too much time to load the Thousands of games on my External Hard Drive. Expecially if you took the time to download all that extra artwork.
OK so I played with X68000 emulation a while back but the idea seemed better than the reality. Can anyone recommend any really good X68000 exclusives? It has tons of good ports, but not enough to justify (for me) adding a core.
where exactly do you download the bios? been looking forever and nobody seems to have trouble finding them but i cant find them after an hour of looking
Update to the Update - Allelujah, I found the problem. I swapped out the up-to-date px68k core with an older v1.9.11 and everything works (thanks to Belgarath on the Forum). Update to below: The next day still no X68000 games working in LaunchBox. I made a brand new clean install of LaunchBox and Retroarch and the px68k core and I used the working roms and BIOS(s) from the CoinOPS Next 2 build (which work) and Retroarch says the BIOS are present where they should be and still the games won't launch yet they will in the CoinOPS Next 2 build. Does anyone have a fix and thanks. -------- I can't get any of these games to run in LaunchBox. In CoinOPS Next 2, no problem. In my LB/BB build I have the keropi folder and information says the two BIOS are present (including the third optional one)(and the md5s are correct). I've tried many games ending in .hdf and for Xenon2 I tried .dim, .hdm and .hdf. I even tried disk 2. The screen gets to where it says "Now loading...' and then falls back to LB. Really has me stumped. LaunchBox and RetroArch are both up to date (and Retroarch's other updatable items). The CoinOPS Next 2 build that works also uses Retroarch and the px68k core and its rompack has a mix of hdf, dim and hdm. BTW, since I can never get past the 'Now loading...' screen, I can never get into the Quick Menu to bump the memory or those other options Jay mentioned.
Two games I have refuse to load. The error message "failed to set the last used disk" I was able to get my images running using the stand-alone emulator.
Trying to figure this out but seems to be multi disk games. I got hold of an entire .dim set but get the same thing. Would be good to know how to organise the files if anyone knows.
Just curious if there's anything different with multi disc games in my case cotton fantastic night dreams it starts gets to the electronic arts screen plays music but doesn't go passed this. Anyone know the issue by any chance?

That would be cool for sure, but I don't think there is a functioning emulator. I might be wrong though.
@@stingyjack There is, but it's old and in japanese. Far as I know there isn't a RetroArch core for the system however.

I wish the PX86K core would support external audio output to the Roland MT-32. makes the games sound 100x better
Get XM6 which is a better X68K emulator partially due to it featuring MIDI support.

What is the advantage of having LaunchBox installed? I have RetroArch fully configured, and TBH, it looks way easier to just configure it alone.

Also wondering. Apparently the X68K Bios are publicly available from Sharp so it shouldn't be considered pirating.
