Excellent video as usual. I have been experimenting with this on my setup, now with your video I am more confident about using more than one emulator on all of my game platforms. As always a very informative, concise video.

Ok. Finally. I still think if you right ckick a game, then choose a core it should permanently use that core until you choose a different one, but this will do. Thanks.
Great Video, I've been using multiple emulators as well for Arcade, and some on NES for a long time now. What I wish what LB would show in the List View or when I do an audit on a platform is show me which emulator it's using for every game.

WOw dude I was looking for a way to solve my Sega Saturn problem, soI found the best way to run them by RetroArch and with ether beetle core that runs really well with 2D Saturn games . And Kronos core that are great with 3D games but could mess up some of the 2D games (not by much though ) combining the 2 is the best solution, thanks to you dude ^^ it worked! the only problem that it showed a message about dependency files, do I need some files for this or just ignore it ? (I did check do not sure again)
Hey this is proably a stupid question but theres no auto feature that can just assign cores right? Because with my full mame romset there are a bunch of games that run different cores..theres no way the launch box system can go through and set it up coreectly?

I am building 2 racing arcades and am using the supermodel emulator. But I want a specific wheel for just playing a single player/cab game and then a separate wheel for playing linked racing games. But when I try to create a second supermodel emulator which will have separate settings for the same game, it doesn't let me use the default emulator in launchbox in more than one place (if that makes sense).

Great vIdeo! I change the dosbox to dosbox-x, since it has save states (don't work for all games, but cool when it does) and I was wondering if there to edit for all dos games at once. Never manages to change the default dosbox, but with that hold control and select many games at once trick I wasn't aware of, it makes it a lot faster! Thanks!
hello, i just added couple gamecube roms to launchbox. when i tried to play it, nothing happen. is this a common problem? but when i run snes, it runs fine.
Is there a way to add a core that is not on the list? I want to use Beetle PSX HW. It's on the core list if I go directly to Retroarch but not through the Launchbox.
Yes, all core settings are within the Manage > Emulators > RetroArch window. Under Associated Platforms, you can add/change platforms and which cores they are associated with. As long as you have the core installed in RetroArch, it should show up there.
You should give the community forums a try if you haven't already: forums.launchbox-app.com/ Could be as simple as unchecking a configuration option, like "Extract ROM archives before running"
I only have 1 emulator retroarch. I was able to set the default emulator ok for the consoles but mame for some reason I can't see any of the mameplus or fbneo and all my mame are default to the liberato 2048 so I manually load through retoRch each time
There are emulator configuration settings in LaunchBox that allow you to associated which platform will use which core. If you need help figuring it all out I'd recommend making a post over on the LaunchBox community forums: forums.launchbox-app.com/
The example of 007 haha, the parallel core does not have this setting: “Count Per Op” So that makes 007 goldeneye broken in parallel(unplayable with 4 players). If you switch weapons in goldeneye (on parallel) you always have that microsecond lag, with Count Per Op=1 you dont. The only retroarch core that has this option is Mupen64plus-next. Project64 also has this setting.
There's a current bug in the latest version that can cause what you are seeing. It will be fixed for next official release. For now, make sure if you go into the RetroArch Emulator window, to add back the Application Path before going into the Associated Platforms section.
I would recommend heading to the community forums. We have users that use that controller as their main, so you'll probably get some better troubleshooting suggestions than in a TH-cam comment. forums.launchbox-app.com/

Great video, I plan to setup original xbox this way as cxbx reloaded and xemu both play very different games due to the compatibility.

You could also use this alternative Retroarch2 to apply alternate cores for other systems too. Like say adding a widescreen SNES or Megadrive core.
Alternatively you can use custom command line and specify core there.

This can be done from within RetroArch itself on either a per-game basis or for all games inside of a particular folder.

Not sure how u got the 2 n64 cores to show up on your list cause its only showing one on mine and its the mupen64
