The first video game I got to play as a kid was Pong on the Atari console. There's a retro arcade place near me where you pay by the hour and play as many games as you want. I had a blast there with Ms Pac-Man, Galaga...so many others--including, of course, Tetris--one of my favorites! And I can pack a suitcase or fill a shopping bag with groceries like I'm playing Tetris 😄💙💚🧩

I still play Tetris. But I loved Pac-Man, Sonic, Super Mario Brothers, Duck Hunt, Hogan's Alley, Gyromite - I basically played video games until my hands went numb. I still play them to this day but I do have to be careful of the old hands now. I also realize how much I dated myself just now with this question.

aah, arcades, the thing I never saw outside of tv shows. I did play a bunch of arcade games though. Pinball, Pacman, Tetris, space themed shooter I forgot the name of. I also played some Sonic the Hedgehog, Mario, and Crash Bandicoot but I'm not sure if those fall under arcade games.
Gaming is a bigger hobby of mine now than when I was a kid but I've done it on and off for my entire life like almost all my hobbies.

I Roller Coaster Tycoon and Zoo Tycoon 2 were my faves as a kid. And I have a bunch of nostalgia for Crash Bandicoot.
A current fave of mine is GRIS. A short and relatively simple platformer that tells a story of grief with just the art and music. Definitely recommend that one. I should replay it again.

I've been looking for a puzzler from here in New Zealand! My most favourite arcade game was Space Invaders, definitely. Then there was another one that was like a coconut shy at a sideshow, where you got different points depending on what you hit with your coconut.

I actually had the Tetris Effect on Minesweeper before. I probably put a thousand hours into Minesweeper... I know, I know, there's no real story there, no real progression, it seems completely absurd. But I just loved seeing myself improve in speed and going through grids like a well routined machine, improving my fastest time. And I remember that I had a dream where I kept solving a seemingly endless Minesweeper grid and I noticed that while slowly getting more awake and it was fun to notice, but also a bit scary, cause I knew that that meant I probably had a Tetris Effect on that, so I wasn't sure if thats a point where your brain tells you "hey, maybe do that a bit less often or I will remind you in your sleep again". But yeah. I did experience that.

I was in Dunedin heading off to university for a lecture. Stopped off in Moray Place at I cannot remember the name of the place and put 20 cents into a machine called Juno First. Two hours later I had clocked the max score 9 times and then realised I might have missed my lecture. Tetris was a few years later.

Pretty you hummed the Simpsons theme song! First video game system I played was the Atari-it was my brothers. Think he had pong and some game where it was a castle/mansion/haunted house and you went room to room looking for items. My original video game system that was mine was the SNES, then Game Boy Color. Still have both and occasionally play them. Tetris was there, but I loved anything Mario based!

During my childhood we had Atari and our favourite games were Montezuma and after that table tennis. It sounds so surreal right now when I am remembering that we had to rewind the tape and just hope that the game will load🤣Something kids nowadays will never know😂
Also while watching the video when you put the last seven pieces under the puzzle I remembered the live streams and was like: "Oh, this piece goes there!" It was almost like putting this puzzle together once more😁

I was a pc gamer back in my youth, so no console favourites from back then. But I remember playing an arcade game, Final Fight, at our summer vacstion place as a kid. Nowadays there is no arcades, but one can play a lot of arcade games and old classic console games using a raspberry pi (single board computer). Do not think I had tetris on ms-dos / pc back in my youth, but we had a 3 dimensions tetris game, Blockout. Same concept, but wirth cubes rather than squares. I sometimes play a Blockout game even today on my linux computer.

I played a few cool PC games and remember having having parties…what were they called when we connected a bunch of PC together…I forget the term we used. So fun! I wrote my Master’s Thesis on Linux. 💜🧩

@@fortheloveofpuzzles LAN parties. Did not host any such myself, but sometimes had a friend over and we connected our pc's together to play multiplayer against eachother. And further south in my country there was an annual LAN party with hundreds of of people joining. But I never went, and a bit glad for it since those big old crt monitors was not the easiest to carry around. By the way, for some pc nostalgia puzzling, there is a puzzle brand on Amazon, toynk, which has some pc related puzzles. Like: PC Gaming Glory, or Game Night. The pictures is of an old computer gaming room, with game boxed with titles and all. Quite fun doing a jigsaw puzzle with a picture that has boxes with titles of games you used to play as a kid, on them.
