You asked in another video how we came to this series. I came from LPL's videos and your videos randomly appearing. I just bought my first pick set just for a fun hobby. I'll have to dig through the basement to find our locks, but I'm in this to just have some fun. Great, very informative videos.
Thanks for sharing! A great lock to learn on if you are from the US is a Kwikset ( non-smarkkey). Also, in the video description I have a great progression of padlocks to try out. Maybe you will have some at home as well. If you have any questions feel free to ask and thanks for sharing!
Just found your site and as a novice I find the pace of the video perfect. Found out today from this video that you can tension from the top or bottom. I have my pick beginners pick kit arriving in two days and clear lock. Etsy £11.84 and free postage.
Still learning how to pick lock it seems that one of those turning tools come in handy I need them were do u find those u know the pick u use it to turn the lock after u use other tools to unlock it
Great videos, thanks for the inspiration! I've been repinning a few schlages that I picked up from Habitat for Humanity ReStore. I gut them after picking and randomly put the pins in the next one .
As a European, do you think it is usefull for me to find some bags of used US locks on e-market as they tends to be cheaper and most of the time res-sets instead of here where it is a bit harder to buy used euro-locks wich are mostly obscur to me to gut and reset?? Thanks for the content and as always stay legal and safe!!
Thanks for a great series! :-) I imagine that lots of people have a bag of "practice" locks like the Master Lock No. 3. Do you know a place to get them, maybe even without key?
A MasterLock #3 was one of the first locks I picked up, about 6 months ago. Opened it twice the first week I had it, and I have not been able to open it since. It drives me absolutely crazy.
In the spirit of learning more via progressive pinning I found a set of four at Sparrows that are made specifically for the task. I have no idea how long it'll take for them to arrive from Canada, but I can't wait to get my hands on them. I also ordered their recharge kit, which includes standard, spool, serrated, and I think also some mushroom pins, pinning tweezers, and a core follower. Should be fun!

Same question for me as a French ^^
I think US locks like the Kwikset is a great lock to get started with. If you can get one for a reasonable cost it is worth it :)

eBay is a good place to look for locks without keys

That happens sometimes. Just put it down and come back later
when someone gives advice about lockpicking and says "the key is..." 🤣🤣🤣
Marco Sebastião my personal favorite way to open a lock is with the key, LOL
Where did you find build lock cylinders? I’m not finding them on eBay. Is that where you looked?
Dallas Does Things I got many of mine from eBay. I searched "Lock lot" "locksmith lot"
HelpfulLockPicker thanks! I ordered my first kit and it should be here within a couple days!
A very good video thanks👍👍👍
Stephen Stone Thank you for the kind words!
Excuse me but, what is progressive pinning?
It is when you take all the pins out and add one at a time until you can pick the whole lock
HelpfulLockPicker aha! Now it makes sense. I just started watching your home school Playlist and I probably missed that part. Thank you!
@@jamesthe-doctor8981 no problem I am glad to help

In Germany we don't have kwikset locks
Yes, your locks are much harder typically.
HelpfulLockPicker if you practice heavy things you can do simple things better
