My BMR doesn’t like the CCI mini mags. They have issues feeding into my rifle just like yours did. Not a big issue though I just keep them for my MK IV

Really enjoy your videos, does the bolt handle knob comes apart? Just got one las night with the carbon barrel.

Yes, the bolt knob is threaded.
The bolt is also easy to disassemble and reassemble.

I really wanted this to be a great rifle but I guess you to purchase the B14R

The CZ 457 is probably the best bolt action at the same price point. I was a little disappointed with the BMR but it will serve as a critter getter.

Great shooting. I got the same rifle. What cheek riser is that. I need one

Did this gun get sent back to Bergara? I remember you had issues with it holding good groupings? Or was it just a break in period?

I ended up sending it back. They ended up recrowning the muzzle and polishing the lugs on the bolt. It all made a huge difference.

Personally I would go with a CZ 457 for BR. There is a lot more aftermarket support and you can upgrade your rifle as your skill or budget allows. It is also easier to re barrel the 457.
I am running the Victor Company Titan Universal Cheekrest Kit on the BMR. It works good for my needs and fits the stock on the BMR well.
Don’t get me wrong the BMR is a nice rifle and enjoy shooting it, and currently started shooting at 100 yard BR, the aftermarket support is limited right now.

What is the most accurate barrel length 18 or 20 inch ?

    • @BehindTheTrigger0

Accuracy is going to be about the same. The biggest difference is going to be the balance point and the ability to maneuver around obstacles. Like those used for NRL style matches.

What can be done to make the bolt close easier and smoother?

    • @BehindTheTrigger0

Use the ammo that it likes. It has to do with headspacing and the thickness of the rim. I have found that the Bergara rimfires are very ammo sensitive.

Oh man. Love the rest. You got it figured out now. Get a few different lot numbers of the SK. You will find some good ammo if you can get the lot number again. The bolt is what it is. I’m making a new spring holder rod for mine. The timing in the action is way off. You have to cock the spring as you close the bolt. The spring should be cocked when the bolt drops. I should be able to make a standard length replacement. But then it requires cutting on the sear engagement to time it correctly. I may change to a stronger firing pin spring also. My headspace was at .045 there are shim kits for them. Mine is set at .042 now. The sk, lapua and RWS like that headspace. Eley likes the .045. The chamber makes a difference also. I have not poured a cast of it to measure it. Got a Lilja barrel ordered for it.

Cleaning a .22 bore where I’m from is taboo. You just don’t do it

    • @BehindTheTrigger0
      @BehindTheTrigger0  ปีที่แล้ว +1

The only time I clean the bore is when accuracy starts to fall off or when I switch ammo brands with different lubes. SK/Lapua lubes don’t play nicely with Eley lube. Usually I just pull a couple dry patches down the bore to clean out the powder and lube residue.

I'm new to the sport and wonder why you don't clean the bore. Isn't rim fire ammo dirty so you need to clean your gun.
