      @@SallysSpeedShop I got some crap from a Ford owner that I was driving a foreign made truck. I had to inform him that his F150 was made in Mexico and my Tundra was made in Indiana.

    I've done enought of this all these types of work to appricaite the effort it takes and the resolve to do it yourself. I've enjoyed following the shop progress on IG - good to see a video with some time lapse to show a portion of the work that went into it. I hope you processed all those trees into firewood for that wood stove heater!

      @SallysSpeedShop  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's definitely a ton of work! A lot of them still need cut down and split to use as firewood 👍🏼 Thanks for watching!

    You guys are tough! i would have gone and rented a chop saw for cutting the rebar. :-)

  • @daveboling8411
    @daveboling8411 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I loved your cutting jig for the 2x4 stakes but a word of advice. Say you needed 2-foot stakes... First, you make 90-degree cuts at 4-foot lengths turning that 8 foot 2x4 into 2 each, 4 foot 2x4's. Then you simply make an angled cut at the 2-foot mark on that 4-foot 2x4, effectively cutting half of the point on 2 stakes at once. Then you just cut the other half of the point on each stake and you now have 2 stakes, literally, with only 3 cuts and zero wasted wood. On an 8 foot 2x4, you get 4 stakes out of each board and no wasted wood at all. This would have saved on wood and made your total cuts down to almost half, (saving on time as well). Granted, you would need a sliding compound miter saw, (or better yet, a table saw), to make the sharp tips that you were looking for here but it is still doable and both are easily adaptable to making your jig as well.
    By the way, Grandma Sally is a bonified Trip, I love her!
    Great Video and keep them coming...

  • @scottjays360s.johnson2

    Should have ripped your 2x4's in half. Makes a better stake and easier to drive them home. Then use some of them for your angle bracing

    I know different areas have different soil, but wondering why you didn't cut beams in to the foundation making a grid pattern to keep it more stable and less likely to crack and seperate?
