Anyone who defends someone else who puts it all out there, in the face of criticisms and hate, deserve the respect they've EARNED. It was right of Mr. Draiman to defend Ms. Swift, while also educating his audience that it's not easy to do what they do, even if it may look that way.
So what the only difference between her and R. Kelly is R. Kelly got caught for all the crap he did just wait. The skeletons will all come out. She’s a billionaire and you don’t become a billionaire by doing nice things all your life and by being a nice person you I mean pretending to be a nice person and doing everything to keep that act up in the public. Britney Spears tried and so did her marketing when she first started out to make her an innocent little girl, but I believe Taylor Swift is a lot smarter to be doing the illegal stuff under the radar.
Amen
I love seeing crossovers of my two music tastes
same, love this
Go ahead and dislike Taylor Swift and her music all you want, but David brings up a valid point.
No, no, he really does not bring ip a great point.
I'm so sick of both sides telling me what and who to respect.
It's gotten to the point that if I call out a company that make a bad phone or computer I will be called a hater.
So I'm going to say it Taylor Swift sucks.
@@evacody1249 Boo Hoo
@@evacody1249turn off your phone, unplug your router, take a walk. Whatever you gotta do to calm down buddy
Valid point? Bro, the way he's defending Swift just makes him look like a total inconsiderate jackass.
@@Darkless4X And yet the other "people", perhaps like you, are much worse.
RESPECT for not talking shit about Taylor. Thank you so much for being such a kind person who respects fellow musicians!! It’s rare because she gets so much hate. Seeing him defend her was really needed in this sometimes ugly world.
Someone saying they don't like her music is not called hating. Saying they are sick of having her opinions and being blasted every is not hating.
Taylor Swift’s bank account and success is saying she is doing something right!
Yeah, lots of illegal activity that’s for sure
Taylor’s got all the fans to (girls) to be shipping over seas lol 😂
I appreciate swift and don’t hate the rich, but making big bucks does not necessarily translate to “doing something right”. Theres plenty with bank accounts accumulated by doing wrong things.
Taylor Swift is trash & a broad.
@@xanderchanning I think the comment is more focused on performers, which there are many performers that have done horrible things, but that isn't how they made the big bucks.
Sadly. Your comment is incredibly accurate when viewing others with big bank accounts.
That was classy.
I love how confused people look when I say Dream Theater, Disturbed, Metallica and Taylor Swift are my best artists ever. And I'm not joking.
Its funny how people are only allowed to like on type of music. I love Pantera,Slayer,Acid Bath and the such. I took my daughter to a "pink" concert and Im not ashamed to say it was the best concert Ive ever seen.
@@kevinswartz9281 I saw a red carpet reel a while back with heavy metal singers answer what their 'guilty pleasure song' is and they're all answering like Miley Cyrus or Beyonce etc (stuff opposite to heavy metal) and Corey Taylor of slipknot says no one should feel guilty for liking a piece of music no matter what it is (or something along those lines). And that's always stuck with me, a lot of heavy metal fans seem to look down on other genres for some reason which is a shame.
Oh. You have some good music taste there. I love dream theatre as well, I feel they are so underappreciated. I barely know anyone who's even heard of them
In a world of Dave Grohls, be a David Draiman
Aw well I commend David. He seems like a good guy.
I have no idea who this guy is, and I have never heard a note of music from him, but he has my respect
Really? They did a cover of the Sound of silence that has like nearly a billion views lol
@@strangewayfaringstranger 8 billion people in the world. That means 7/8 of the world's population has never viewed it. Just sayin'.
@@mikemartin5749 The number is probably much smaller. A billion views doesn't mean a billion people viewing
@@DJMS1986 view does not equal view. Umm, OK.???
You should listen to their music. David is a huge advocate for mental health.
He is down with the switfness
couldn't agree more
Thats respect💯💯💯 . Maybe a Duet one day ?? 🤔🤔
HELL YEAH!
THIS IS A+ BEHAVIOR RIGHT HERE. You dont need to bring down others to Validate yourself. TAKE NOTES DAVE GROHL.
he does have a point
This guy has to preach about SOMETHING everywhere he goes
Dont know who Taylor swift is.... Googling her now.
But I know something: respect!
I don't know who that is,but I just listen to Disturbed lyrics.
I don't care about pop singers.
could've titled it better
Lead music singer of "heavy metal band" 💀
Anyone takes there life in there hands going after someone who he likes 😁😁😁
He’s a big teddy bear now actually but I get your point
"Now that I have you under my spell, _you will_ follow 'The Agenda'."
S U C K E R S
Now he just needs to apologize and mend things with Roger Waters.
Roger waters is a Hammas mouth piece d bag. Doubtful you’ll hear an apology anytime soon.
Its a shame he has lots of nasty to say about Britney back in the days.. now everyone is so fakely nice.. 😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡
Britney is a joke. She was a POS singer, didnt play any instruments, AND she was a POS mother which is why she lost custody of her children -- even before she went psycho.🤪
I can boo whoever the hell I want, not gonna have some millionnaire tell me what to do and who to talk about, millionaires and billionaires I didn’t think they got along very well. I think David has some sleepovers at Taylor‘s house talking football with her boy toy/prom date 😂, shouldn’t try to take peoples free speech away from them David, considering the country let’s you speak freely until Trump takes office anyways.
_...the country let’s you speak freely until Trump takes office anyways._
Um. You have that exactly backwards. Then again, Marxists only believe in free speech for themselves, so...
You know I was considering going to the concert and get VIP passes..but after hearing this ..I changed my mind
and decided to go to Taylor’s concert instead?
Whiny little snowflake is triggered by a metal singer respecting a pop singer’s work. More on that at 11 Chuck..
Are we supposed to care 🤔....
@simonkwok99 no he does not like Taylor Swift. And the lead singer of the band he does like told the fans to respect someone whose music does nothing for them.
Disturbed may have saved his life. Only for him to hear Dave say this crap.
@@evacody1249 Translation: “Waah! Waah! A band I like said something nice about a singer I don’t like!! That means I don’t like them anymore!”
first
Here's my one issue with what he's said - Swift uses autotune and/or lip-syncing on stage (I think she's actually had some audio equipment malfunctions like several other pop artists too, if it wasn't already blatantly obvious), Draiman doesn't. So while I applaud David Draiman for sticking up for a fellow "artist", the quotes are definitely there for a reason because calling Taylor Swift a musician is laughable at best (her lyrics are identical in nature to those of every other pop artist out there - with most of them written by a couple of ghostwriters using a program that parses together phrases that sell well, her melodies are really basic, her guitar is essentially a prop, and her voice is just meh - she doesn't have great range, power, control, etc.).
Listen, I love Taylor, (some people don’t that’s fine). However listen to some of her none radio hits. I’d start with her album evermore or folklore. And actually listen to the lyrics. As for her voice, watch a couple clips of her eras tour. She has developed her voice from where she started when she was 20. Also, she writes all of her songs. If she didn’t, there would have been stories out there from her “ghost writers”.
I love how none of this-not ONE thing was correct
@@MeowRumba I didn't actually say she didn't write her own lyrics, just that they're the same sort of trite garbage that sells well to teenage girls that other pop singers use. A huge number of pop singers don't write their own music or lyrics (and that's not a new thing), so there not being "stories" or rumors is meaningless because there's not rumors abounding about many of the numerous artists out there with others writing for them (Cher for example, did not write quite a few of her songs).
And while she may have improved between her early career and now (and who wouldn't), she definitely still uses autotune (it's extremely easy to recognize if you listen for mouth noises and other signs that demonstrate an unaltered voice as it moves through notes). None of her music is particularly complex from a musical standpoint, nor from a vocal standpoint. I detest Christina Aguilera, but if you want a demonstration in sheer difference in vocal range she's a good option (although her voice has declined in recent years apparently and I believe she got caught lip-syncing at a concert a couple years back, but don't quote me on that). If you want to examine musical complexity, you're going to have to look outside the pop/bubble-gum genre - Hendrix, Rush, and Van Halen are great examples of artists who played instrumentally complex music; you could also look at a variety of Jazz, Baroque, Classical, or Funk pieces.
My biggest critiques of Swift, however, is people trying to sell her as a country artist. She's about as far from country as death metal. Dolly is country; Reba is country; Alison Kraus (as much as I don't actually enjoy her music) is country; Toby Keith (RIP) was country. Taylor Swift is not.
Wow, this only proves that he is right. She is singing live, she is a human being, making mistakes, starting over, in 3.5hrs show you can hear that it is nothing fake in it. Also, she is a songwriter. All songs are her and only her. She was rerecording her own albums to have legal rights to them, as Scooter didn't want to sell to her her own music. Her lyrics are used in universities, compare to best poets. No, no radio hits, she has more than 200 songs. People do not want to even try to check what they are talking about. "I'd meet you where the spirit meets the bones
In a faith forgotten land
In from the snow
Your touch brought forth an incandescent glow
Tarnished but so grand
And the old widow goes to the stone every day
But I don't, I just sit here and wait
Grieving for the living"
"If clarity's in death, then why won't this die?
Years of tearing down our banners, you and I
Living for the thrill of hitting you where it hurts" "What should be over burrowed under my skin
In heart-stopping waves of hurt
I've come too far to watch some namedropping sleaze
Tell me what are my words worth" "Say it once again with feeling
How the death rattle breathing
Silenced as the soul was leaving
The deflation of our dreaming". You may not like her music that is okey, but it is madness to say she is average and her lyrics are the same as other artists.
@@jowolf2187except they are not. But there is no point trying to explain something to someone who is so wrong on so many levels. In fact to get ready for the eras tour Taylor ran on A treadmill for 4 hours a day singing the set list. Yup she def dosent really sing
