David is my idol, my hero, my inspiration as a human being in general. The music, the kind of person he is in general, and just the way he talks sometimes it feels like he's putting to words what i feel in my heart and cannot put into words myself.
I don't know @prodigalbrock , I've worked around this guy for more than 20 years off and on. I can say he's been a solid dude throughout his career. With fans, and behind the scenes.

Never heard of this guy until "Sound of Silence" and the more videos I see of him, the more I like him. He makes some very thoughtful and kind remarks to fans and takes time to actually connect. I'm becoming a fan much to the shock of my son.
Me too.....I was trying to find other version's of 'Sounds Of Silence', & discovered Disturbed. Have listened to some of his interviews & would love to attend a gig. Happy Earthday David for next week ♥️🔥♥️
I loved The Sound of Silence until I let my grandmother hear it, and she knew it word for word. I didn't know it was a remake. She and her singing group used to sing it all of the time. I immediately took to Twitter to tell them jokingly that they were no longer popular because my grandmother liked their music. 😂
I have to agree with Paula, David Draiman and Disturbed did a phenomenal job on their cover of The Sound of Silence. As an 80+ year old, I loved the song by Simon and Garfunkel, but listening to Mr. Draiman sing this song gave it a whole new meaning. Thank you.
Saw these guys for the first time last night, hell of a show. David is a huge advocate for mental health and fighting your demons, it was evident how many lives he’s touched.
This man's been in my head recently, not for his music, but his personal message. He openly addresses a lot of very personal difficulties people are struggling with and takes time to give encouragement to them. He has also shared his personal struggles with mental health, and it just hit hard to listen to that. Music is probably one of the reasons I'm still on this planet. The message can be the medicine I need to get me through hours, days, and sometimes months. I think he's connected with his fans for this exact reason. The songs and the fans mean something to these guys. It's real and much appreciated.
100%! Even at my age today music is a major part of what keeps me going, it's helped get me through some incredibly dark moments since I was a kid. So I am so thankful for musicians like him! Like I posted in my own comment, he is an absolute GIFT!
I saw Disturbed for the first when they opened for Slipknot and when they wheeled David out strapped to table and he had a Hannibal Lector mask on its something I'll never forget.
Slipknot is my favorite band and disturbed is a close 2nd, the 1st time I seen both bands was the same exact way.. When they rolled Dave out I went crazy 😂 It was at Mayhem fest Camden in 2008
@@PyramidHead-xs5gyI'm still wanting to go to see Slipknot live. I saw Disturbed back in 2016 at the Chicago Open Air Concert after a year of listening to them and they were amazing. I also was 13 about to be 14 on August 17th at the time. Now I'm 21, like holy shit time flies!
Sound of Silence by Disturbed has lived in my head rent free since it was released. Just wow. What a ballsy move to take on a classic and FML well done for making it better. (IMHO)
How did I know he was a cantor? Such a beautiful voice and seems like such a mensch too. What a terrific interviewer to pull all these wonderful real person relatablilities onto the table and keep it cool. Kudos Rock Feed.
Every time I see David interviewed, I gain more and more respect for him. I have never experienced an entertainer in any genre who is more real than this man. I also feel a real connection with David, as we share similar backgrounds. It was 10 years ago, and I had just entered the health care field as a personal support worker, when I discovered that the front man of my favorite band had been a director of long term care facilities in the Chicago area prior to making it big with Disturbed. If I were ever granted 3 wishes, one would certainly be to have a sit down, shoot the s**t session with David.
Thank you for delivering this interview. David has always been one front man you hear little from but when you do he has so much to say. Really respect it.
This band saved my life. Especially David's personal words and experiences. Thankful and grateful. 💜🎶💜 And Sound of Silence was my spouses favorite song as a child, and he ended up loving your cover. It gave him comfort until the day he passed. Thank you.
"Hold Onto Memories" always made me think of my favorite Aunt and others that I've lost. The song is perfect, touching, bittersweet. My Mom died suddenly on September 30th, 2023. And i haven't been able to bring myself to listen to one of my all time favorite songs... Thank-you David and the rest of Disturbed for sharing your talents and hard work with the world. Please know that you are cared for, even though we're strangers.
It is such a beautiful song. I’m so sorry about your mother and all the other loved ones you’ve lost. Know that you are cared for too and have been prayed for to receive strength and peace and God to carry you in Jesus’ name.❤️
I am not a heavy metal fan. But I am a David Draiman and Disturbed fan. I am 68 years wise. The Sound of Silence was a song of my youth, and one of my all time favorites. When I heard that a heavy metal band had done a cover of that song, I was very skeptical. When I heard it for the first time I was shocked at what an incredible version it is! I think that I have heard the cover hundreds of times by now and each time I love that cover more and more! Also I have been in the mental health field for over a dozen years and I thank David for being such a caring advocate! ❤ I have GERD, but not anywhere as bad as David, and I am sans gallbladder. I have GAD too. Definitely complicates life.
I too not a Heavy Metal fan. I happened to see him on Conan. He blew me away. Haunting, sadness, beauty all combined. I listen to this daily! I'm 62 and loved the original but no disrespect to S & G but this is my favorite version.❤ I still get goosebumps and tears, it touches the soul.
I found Disturbed about 3 years ago hearing "THE Sound of Silence" & I cried . They are Iconic❤. I am 76yrs young & THE Beatles were my favorite band but after hearing David Draiman & Disturbed I fell in ❤. They are real & CARE about people & their fans. We recently had a Celebration of Life for our precious best friend & I had "Memories" played after I spoke & everyone was blown away & they wanted to know who that was. I was thrilled to talk about "DISTURBED" & even played some of their songs especially "Sound of Silence" , I cried & there was complete Silence. I ❤ them & have every album of theirs. When some people hear that they are considered Heavy Metal they are put off until they hear them & then they say "where have they been all my life"? They get into your ❤ & Spirit & have a way of never leaving, they become a part of you. When I pass I want "Memories" played at my CELEBRATION OF LIFE. THEY ARE A CELEBRATION IN MY ❤ EVERY SINGLE DAY.
Disturbed was such an eye opener for me. I first heard them and I was like "this is me! They know who i am, they SEE me." I immediately ran out and bought every thing I could find!
Great talk with David, I can remember playing shows with Disturbed back in the late 90s, they always treated everyone with respect and kindness. I knew they were something special for sure. It makes me happy to see they’ve been flourishing all this time since. Easily one of the best frontman in rock and metal music hands down. “The Game” is still my favorite songs on the Sickness. 🤘
Im 64, just got done with my fanatical dance/exercise routine to Stupify and Down With the Sickness. Then comes on this great interview with a wonderful man!!! Love it.
This is actually the most well put together and balanced interview I've seen of David. Not too heavy on the mental health stuff like in other interviews, but not totally neglecting the subject either. Just simply a good interview.
Fantastic interview! David is one of a kind and an absolute gift! Not just as a singer but as a human being! I can tell he cares from how he interacts with fans at shows and now hearing how he and Disturbed treat each other with such respect! I don't know if he'll be reading comments and I don't usually direct comments to someone in an interview, but if I could say anything to him is thank you for absolutely blessing us with his amazing talent and for being such a good human! We need more people like him in this world. To so positively affect so many people that don't personally know him nor ever have met him is incredible! I feel selfish being thankful for that considering how much he sacrifices to be able to continue singing but thank you to him and the rest of Disturbed! ❤
If more people were as humble and down to earth as David Draiman the world would be so much better off! He is an excellent example and model of who to be
David has been such an inspiration in my life for over 23 years now, I honestly don't know if I would still be alive. If it wasn't for Disturbed, their music lifted me up. When I was dealing with soul crushing problems. Their music pulled me out of the mud.
I KNEW IT! I love his singing voice and because I knew he was from an orthodox Jewish upbringing, I’ve always wanted to hear him sing the Mourner’s Kaddish! It must be BEAUTIFUL to listen to… Am Israel Chai!
David YOU are my favorite Tenor!!!! I put it on my FB page...the guy that sings god bless America for the Atlanta Braves is a fantastic Tenor as well!!!!!
Great interview. I’m glad you were able to recover it. I have so much respect for David and Disturbed for what they do for mental health awareness and their fans. I was lucky enough to be invited on stage in 2019 after sharing my story with them at the meet greet. If it wasn’t for their music, I’m not sure that I’d be here today.
Absolutely love David Draiman, man. We got to see Disturbed in Charlotte, North Carolina last Summer along with Breaking Benjamin and Jinjer. It was a phenomenal show! Listening to David share his story hit home. I'm glad he's still with us, rocking out and rocking hard! 🤘🏻😎🤘🏻
Thank you for signing my CD. I did your in-ear monitors. It’s funny because I did not know who you guys were. You guys gave me great seats and I was in Awe. I never saw somebody dance so cool to heavy music.
Thanks for mentioning The Warning. To the comment section, if you haven't been Warned yet, your time is fast approaching. Once they pull you in, there's no escape.

David is a legend, always will be. Love watching him engage with the interview material, to grace us with his infinite wisdom. His music opened up my mind a long time ago, I wish I could hear it again for the first time.
I had the pleasure and absolute honour to meet the band in Manchester. A great bunch of lads and so humbled. Disturbed have a lot of time for their fans. Full respect to them. 🤘🏼
Absolute all time favorite band. At the age of 2, my daughter would sit in the backseat of the car and say "momma play sickness, play sickness momma". She would sit there and headbang in her carseat and belt out every single word. She is now 22 and sickness is still her favorite song. My favorite is stupid. I literally just attended a disturbed concert on Jan 23rd at the Resch Center in Green Bay, WI.
I am not disturbed by the music x I'm disturbed by listening to it over and over again x I love ❤ it and its not just for the young as I'm 74 x what a voice ❤ to you all x
David seems like such a good guy. I will say he is one of the most unique vocalists. The first time I heard them I was like what the hell is this!!!!!!!!!!! Not to mention they continued to put out bangers every album cycle.
David, I could sit and talk with you for hours. I love your honestly about how this can be a lonely road. I watch every interview this man does because of how genuine he is.
I love him. He is so intelligent and trained. Knowing his history (not by this) I LOVE that I don't love total head-banger all the time, but his VOICE. What a gift. I hear him as far as age. I use to be able to sing and not so much anymore.
Honesty, respect, kindness, and SELF-respect too....these are things he doesn't just espouse but he lives. And to listen to him speak, it's just so calming to me. He's so right about respect for each other keeping the band intact...same for a marriage...when you truly respect and care for eachother, you never want to hurt the other and you take the time to listen to eachother even when disagreeing. He seems to carry that over to his interactions with fans. And he's right that you can't fake that. Truly impressed by this man. Sadly, he's more of an exception to the rule nowadays, but so glad he's in this world. And the music of the entire band.... speaks for itself! ❤
You can tell David has gone through hell on his own, and has come back stronger to help others to get over it...his empathy comes from a true place of pain
Such a great interview with David! He is one of a kind who is very generous, kind, and humble. He's not afraid to show vulnerability. That's a real man right there! Disturbed is my favorite band of all time! Great songs and hope to see them in concert one day!
I got my first tattoos with Ghost Flames and many more and counting with Disturbed playing in the background. I always requested their songs..true story!🖤❤️💯
I had the same stomach valve problem as he does. I doubt he'll ever see this, but that can be fixed now with a 'Linx device'. It's a titanium magnetic ring that's placed between the lower esophagus and the stomach. It opens when you eat or drink, stays closed when you're not. I was miserable for years. I had it done over a year ago, and I've never had a hint of heartburn or reflux. I had it done in Chicago.
I recently became familiar with this band when my daughter had her music list playing in her car and The Sound of Silence came on. I loved it immediately. I now have it downloaded on my phone and make Alexa play it for me in the house at least 5 times a day. And after watching David Draiman’s interview I was even more impressed by his words and demeanor. Love him.
DAVID IS A PROFOUND HUMAN BEING AND TALENT! The range he has is unfathomable ! been a fan for years now and am grateful for being able to experience this bands musical genius year after year bless this man and this band
What a great interview. Some powerful moments in there! The loneliness of the road, his son, and not living too in the moment and looking a thousand yards ahead stood out to me. 🤘
No smoking, no drinking, careful dietary, no partying or late nights - Impressive Frontman!
And no tattoos because of respect for his Grandfather

I literally just attended a disturbed concert on Jan 23rd at the Resch Center in Green Bay, WI.
Wow ...deep respect to David.
I am not disturbed by the music x I'm disturbed by listening to it over and over again x I love ❤ it and its not just for the young as I'm 74 x what a voice ❤ to you all x
This interview was awesome 👍 thanks
It is a great interview!!! 👍
Literally just went to a Disturbed show last night, such good showmanship
David seems like such a good guy. I will say he is one of the most unique vocalists. The first time I heard them I was like what the hell is this!!!!!!!!!!! Not to mention they continued to put out bangers every album cycle.
Ehhh they haven't really made anything I enjoyed since Immortalized and even that had a lot of stinkers
Going to see Disturbed for the 15th time on February 26th. They get better every time. Great band. Great show.
I totally agree! They get better everytime I see them. ❤❤❤❤
I never really heard the words to Sounds of Silence until i heard Disturbed singing the song. Phenomenal. David is a good guy x Good interview, Thanks
What a great grounded guy David Draiman is! Nice to see the someone besides the huge success could be such a humbled guy!
Such a humble man. I love to hear him give his opinion and advice on anything.
You can tell David has gone through hell on his own, and has come back stronger to help others to get over it...his empathy comes from a true place of pain
2002-2008 was a magical period for young Rock and Metal fans 🤘thank U it was awesome
Got to meet David many years ago. His kindness has left a lifelong impression on me. One of the most down to earth rockstars out there!!!
Such a great interview with David! He is one of a kind who is very generous, kind, and humble. He's not afraid to show vulnerability. That's a real man right there!
Disturbed is my favorite band of all time! Great songs and hope to see them in concert one day!
Awesome conversation. Great job dude. Love this band. Their music got me through tough times 🤘
DAVID,YOU'RE VOICE,... IS JUST WOAUW....
LOVE FROM.
DENMARK 🇩🇰🇩🇰
I got my first tattoos with Ghost Flames and many more and counting with Disturbed playing in the background. I always requested their songs..true story!🖤❤️💯
I had the same stomach valve problem as he does. I doubt he'll ever see this, but that can be fixed now with a 'Linx device'. It's a titanium magnetic ring that's placed between the lower esophagus and the stomach. It opens when you eat or drink, stays closed when you're not. I was miserable for years. I had it done over a year ago, and I've never had a hint of heartburn or reflux. I had it done in Chicago.
This put a smile on my face. Thank you!
When I graduated bootcamp from the Corps in 01, Disturbed and Godsmack were the 2 CDs I bought from the PX and it was amazing.
One of the best frontmen ever
DEFINITELY.... VERY good that Mr. Draiman disspells the myths about what happens backstage 💪!!!!
What a humble and insightful gentleman, thanks for sharing. Really enjoyed the questions you pitched to David
He’s a cool dude, down to earth.
Love him.
Absolutely come to really respect David wholeheartedly

This needs be be shared the hell out of! The interview hits on so many levels i strongly believe anyone who watches this will be in a better place.
Great interview. What a beautiful and humble man.
David is the most real and talented Rock Singer of the last 20 years
Just an all round thoughtful and well rounded person. The world would be a better place with more like him.
Such a well put together person. Glad he's here.
What a great interview. Some powerful moments in there! The loneliness of the road, his son, and not living too in the moment and looking a thousand yards ahead stood out to me. 🤘
Appreciate you bro 🔥🤘
This interview was KILLAH! Blessings from New England.
