No classics to react to? You do realise that not all music hits the charts right?
There's shit loads left, from genres many were not into or aren't reacting to now: Black box, Dmob- Acceded. Leftield, London boys ( anyone remember them )
legion of green men, party animals, cirque de soleil(yes, they did some music videos), aphex twin, frontline assembly, bjork, maybe not too many left, pity.
Dude this is a classic...my favourite massive attack tune by far.
The female simger you see is actually Nat King Coles daughter Natalie...so the jazz aspect is ther for sure....also within the video where she walks throufhout...The actudll band Massive Attack appears behind her lol...in various shots...one if the members is aalking with his son hand in hand...clever n powerful
..to this day...the tune stays a Legend...classic...timeless for all generations...n the orchestra😍😍😍...powerful. keep up great work my friend.....checkout Massive Attacks - Teardrops my 2nd favourite of theres...ul like that also.....they start with heartbeat affect like at begining of this song n throughout. Have a listen..xx
Yes! I saw your reaction to Back to Life yesterday, and I was hoping you would do something like Massive Attack next.
This has been part of my heart and soul since I was 12 years old, Trip hop Bristol 1991 ❤
Need to try Teardrop by Maxxive attack or try portishead - glory box for a great live set
Been requesting this for ages Jay! Glad you finally reacted to it. Such an incredible song. You can really sense the desperate, unresolved heartbreak in her voice. Love the string arrangement too. And is 3D Banksy?? Who knows.....
You have to check out Faithless, a unique British group.
This was one of the best 90s songs. One that make you melt.
It came out 6 years before The Verve song.
Massive Attack Teardrop is a must. Also Smoke City Underwater Love. 🏴👍🏴
Shara Nelson (born 1965) is an English singer and songwriter. She worked with Massive Attack in the early 1990s, and as a solo artist garnered five UK Top 40 hit singles. Her 1993 debut album, What Silence Knows, was shortlisted for the Mercury Music Prize.
Apart from the fact that they both used classical music, there's nothing similar between this song and The Verve ... The Verve were Brit pop while Massive Attack were Trip Hop and both the melodies and the beats were totally different. I saw Massive Attack live a few years back and they were still amazing and played out with this song - Probably the best Trip Hop song ever, an absolutely beautiful masterpiece.
The Verve’s video was paying homage to the massive attack one
Sometimes less is more !! This is such a fantastic track her voice is the heart and soul of this soundtrack! Brings back great nostalgia memories
A beautifully made peice of music.
Great music never dates. This song always sounds great. 30 years old and still as fresh. ❤️🇬🇧❤️
Live with Me is all soul and one of their better earlier hits. Massive Attack is one of my favorite chill and relax groups.
i agree, but as an avid listener/collector of their music since their beginnings, i somehow feel that their video for that song is even more impactful with the video's expression in visual connectedness to deliver a more intense, emotional impact.. just my $0.02..
Still gives me goosebumps near on 30 years later..
From Bristol, England but the video looks like it was shot in the USA
Correct on both counts, sir.
Beautiful track. One of my absolute favorites from the ‘90’s. Great memories ❤️❤️
Massive attacks Blue lines is 1 of best albums ever.
YES! Finally some Massive Attack...ooooo you have gone down a rabbit hole with this group bro, some of the most amazing songs on the planet! More please!!!
Def should listen to more massive attack and other trip hop artists.
Sooo many beautiful and soulful singers came about in the 90’s underground rave scene. 90’s house and jungle specifically were also loaded with so many great vocalists!!
You need to listen to tear drop from Massive attack.
After all these years still hearing this song. Jeeez it hits every nerve and mood ending builds up the power to utter perfection to make water extrude from my eyes. Just incredible!
JAYVEE u should try Everything but the girl, Missing.
Good suggestion. I can listen to that on repeat forever! Bit like this!
chooooon
This song was in the movie Sliver with Sharon Stone.
Just a comment to add to every other , love this song still today.
I was about when this was first released AMAZING TUNE So glad you reviewed it as I hadn’t heard it in a while, I’m 54 FFS, lol. When you listen to the lyrics, you realise at the end she is walking away from a bad relationship. Gurl made a decision. Massive Attack where HUGE in the UK at the time btw. I love your channel btw too. I love seeing someone open their mind and listen to something new. You dont always get it right, but why would you. Really love your channel. Keep up the good work 👍🏻
I was literally going to suggest this in a nother video just now. So I'll suggest another track massive attack produced before they were massive attack. Nenah Cherry - Buffalo Stance. You'll love it
I did that one already search the title followed by JayveeTv
@@JayveeTV oh sweet I will.
Manchild!
What a tune, Hey !
One of the greatest singular Songs of all time.
First time I saw Massive Attack it was as the "Massive Attack SoundSystem" in 1995. It was like 6 hours of Massive Attack and their Musical Associates.
I was so so stoned and alcoholed-up (after a day in the Pub drinking & smoking) heading into that gig, and that musical experience did my head so good 🌬
☘🇮🇪☘
nice catch mate with the verve connection... believe they were influenced by this music vid.
I remember when this was first released, watching it on MTV here in the UK, I almost didn’t hear the music because I was so entranced with everything else that was happening, and never realised I was just staring at the screen until the next video started. It completely hypnotised me! 😁
Wow! Is Jovaughn faster on the love button than Leo is?
Sorry again if I spelled your name wrong. I have to see something a thousand times before I get it right.
You'll have to ask his girlfriend

This song is MASSIVE Jay, recorded in 1990 & released in 1991 so it’s 30 years old, it’s been voted the best dance track of all time in many polls & the vocalist (Shara Nelson) sang on a couple of their tracks, they usually use guest vocalists in other songs as well as themselves, check them out you won’t be disappointed, trip-hop at its finest 👏🏻
I wouldnt call it dance necessarily but it should be in halls of fame for sure
@@annother3350 they won Brit Awards for beat dance artists & also for being pioneers in the dance music industry etc, trip-hop falls into that genre in the wider music industry...
