Your production value, and your analysis -so good. This feels like content you'd see on a channel with 1M+ subs, but you actually seem genuine. Great stuff
You're always a cheerful reviewer; but, this Phantom PS5 controller seemed like it put you in an even better mood than usual. That's a vote of confidence even more powerful than just saying, "Hey, I recommend this". Good job, HexGaming!
Ahh you're a keen observer but who am I kidding, I know this already. You've showcased that skill more than once and I'm here for it everytime you do, thanks for doing so in fact.
They should give you many many thanks for advertising lmao and someone else commented and said how your vids seem like they came from a channel with 1mil subs and I can say the same. Very in depth and connected. Taught us exactly what they are selling, taking what we dislike about hall effect and correcting and calibrating that in a way that can't be beaten by allowing the user.... whos thumbs move different than any other humans mind you, and muscle memory like no other hunans and allowing them to calibrate and adjust the precision and accuracy to each and every human who buys this controller and thats just f****** awesome! I'm buying one right now after this lol! Great review man and keep up the great vids your going to blow up and I know this without the shadow of a doubt brother!!! You earned another sub and I know you'll get many many more! 🎉🎉😊
Thank you greatly. I've been having a harder time getting back efficiently to the comments, there has been such a pouring of positive energy lately. I'm greatly thankful and appreciative! If ever you get the chance to give me your impressions when you get it, please do share, I love to hear happy gamers enjoying the new arsenal!
Only four minutes in and you told me what I was looking for. That this has all the features that a dual sense has, haptics, triggers, etc. I appreciate that. I've watched multiple other videos and had to guess those were all there. Liked and subscribed. And Congrats on the 10k subs!!
Thanks @bigflexdog ! I get so much back from comments such as yours. It genuinely gives me joy to help, for you to let me know I was able to be the difference you were looking for means a lot to me. Thanks and I hope to continue to deliver useful content toward your gaming needs!
Mine is showing up in a couple of days & I have been soo anxious about it! I was on a cliff edge when deciding "hall effects" hoping I chose correctly, and you just put my mind at ease! I've also got my ps5 pro preordered too. Never grabbed the ps5 because I've been waiting patiently for my moment to get all the newest & greatest all at once. My time has come!!!
Ohhh wow! You sure know how to "make an entrance" into that ecosystem. You are about to get yourself a healthy dose of "peak console gaming". I'm still on the fence with PS5 Pro but I totally get your position, good on you, enjoy!
@freedomthefreeman487 I've already got the pc but I like having a console too. Somethings just play "smoother" on console no matter what. I do enjoy my higher end graphics & mod ability of my pc though. Upgrading my console from ps4 to 5pro has been amazing. Actually have been really happy about my choice. 🤙
I’ve never bought a custom 3rd party controller before, I always knew about them since the ps3/360 era but now we have controller companies that can produce a better product than the 1st party product. I’ve already bought 3 sony controllers in the past 2 years because of stick drift, I don’t throw my controllers, I don’t bend and try to break them, They simply fall from my lap or off my table once or twice and get stick drift. I’ve had a ps4 controller fall from a 2ft high bed, onto a carpet floor and get stick drift. A dualsense edge controller costs $304 CAD with tax, the hex phantom costs $375 CAD with tax. The modules sony sell for the edge are not sold in pairs from what im aware of, They make you spend like $20-$30 on a single joystick separately from the $304 they already make off the controller alone. So realistically your paying $360 for an edge of you want a pair of backup sticks that you KNOW your going to need anyways right? So why not spend the extra $10 on this hex phantom, These are the best Hall effect controllers on the market apparently and you don’t have to worry about stick drift again ( hence saving you from needing to buy modules ) kinda sounds like a no brainer investment in my opinion. Sony has chosen to go the greedy route and I’m not here for it, Vote with your wallet guys if you expect companies to respect you. When my phantom arrives il be able to tell you if it lives up to what it claims. Godbless and sorry for this long comment.
No need to apologize my guy, you spoke of a real issue that thousands and thousands of gamers face every day, and it so turns out that this is your exact experience. You shared it very eloquently, I respect you for it and appreciate you choosing my video to do so. Let me know how you like your HexGaming controller when you get it, no lie, I'm hyped for you. You are about to enter an experience you did not know could be this great. It's something else, cheers!
And look at that, you're getting a solid amount of likes too so you're clearly not the only one ahahah. Well, thankfully, we have options in the world and I totally respect your preferences!
You have no idea how much I get a jolt of joy whenever I can see people being able to experience the same things I do! From a reviewer's perspective, it's like a gift honestly. Maybe I'm too invested in this products that I review but I really approach them with the best intentions of helping people have their game time be enriched, so thanks for letting me know how much it's been surprising you, as it surprised me. It's so good!
i received mine as well is an amazing controller hall effects feel very nice, the only ting is my down d pad is a lil stiff but it works, the rest of the controller feels amazing i love the click triggers
I have been doing a lot of back and forth lately because the market has been blessed with so many substantial upgrades but please let me put this out there, this controller still remains an absolutely top-tier contender for the quality of its components, it is shocking.
Thank you very much for this wonderful review. Do you have any idea if and when hexgaming will start shipment to Germany. I want this thing so badly. I used the backpaddles from extremerate now over years
Sadly I don't know and truth be told, I wonder if they have found themselves getting "blocked" in some capacity because they are building on top of a Dualsense? Maybe that's consider unlawful in Europe? Just trying to think out loud because I don't understand why if being honest, between the two videos I made about the Phantom, the amount of people that told me they were trying to order one while in Europe is shockingly high. I noticed recently that it is sold on Amazon dot com, I can order on dot com from Canada but have to pay custom fees, can you do that from Europe?
I've used hall effect sticks in the 8bitdo and they take some getting used to with aiming but since they move easier they don't hurt my thumbs as much over a long session. Edit: Also I've had the 8bitdo for years without any drift at all so I'm hopeful about this controller too.
These sticks shouldn't be in the same conversaton as 8BitDo's hall effects, they may share technology, but there is little to nothing comparable in terms of how much more tweaked and quality-feeling that they are. As happy as I can be for any gamer that finds happiness with their devices, trust me, this is a completely different league of good.
@@GameTechTalk Cool, that makes me even more excited about it. I wasn't trying to make comparisons with a controller I haven't used, just talking about my satisfaction with properly calibrated hall effect sticks.
@@afjer Dang, maybe my video made them run out of stock! 😎 All kidding aside though, I'm sure they'll restock shortly, I'd keep my eyes peeled and refresh every day or so, they can't certainly stop selling them if they are finding enough success to be sold out!
I might buy one… but I’m currenty waiting fot my AIM controller with hall effect sticks.. their trigger stops are just unmatched tho and the rubberized grip is top notch
Yeah TMR is legit, I do have some TMR (haven't yet officially reviewed one, coming soon™) but tested them, they definitely are legit. With that said, I'd still give the edge (no pun intended) to this one, that's why I mention in the video that the calibration definitely adds to the mix. Lowkey, I kind of want to buy me some TMR sticks and modify mine too! A higher resolution TMR could be a worthy challenger to the Phantom!
Hey man, was interested in picking up this remote with the Hall effects sticks, but was curious if there is a way to adjust the deadzones or adjust sensitivity on the remotes ? Would appreciate feedback
Not to my knowledge. You calibrate it but adjustments per say, not the way that it is presented in their tutorial to calibrate it. That said, it might just be the case, I haven't tried to utilize it past it's calibration purpose.
Trying to think of all of what I will play with this controller on PC and PS5. Loving this idea dude. Is it a guarantee that they are keeping the calibration tool available as long as they sell the hall effect stick version?
Yup, that is an intrinsic part of their Hall-Effect variant. And it better be. It's such a mindblowing feature, they really went the extra step with this and as far as I am concerned, it paid off.
You would need a computer because you want to keep an eye on your stick behavior. Technically you don't need one but it won't be as effectively achieved without one.
Honestly considering cancelling my 30th Anniversary Edge pre order and getting one of these instead. I guess I could always flip it but this just seems like the better buy.
I got one on pre-order too and I've been contemplating what to do as well. I also have a regular one on pre-order and I think I'll stick to just keeping the regular 30th one just because I want the look, but I don't need a second edge, heck I don't even need one anymore! 😅
I'm not sure if it was Asmongold or somebody else but I saw a video where they said all prices were inflated last minute due to the Concord tax... It kind of made sense in the moment (as to why they are charging astronomical prices) but that should not be re-directed to consumers.... Capitalism at it's finest... not. 😥
I used to have someone from France tell me that they couldn't order. I did ask HexGaming and it was in their plans to launch a new Europe-centric website. Seems like it hasn't happened yet but from what I was told then, the website should be when/if they do: eu.hexgaming.com I also know people who backed it on Kickstarter (even from Europe) were able to get their controller but I don't think it is possible to buy from Kickstarter after the campaign has concluded, unlike Indiegogo.
If I'm not mistaken. The ps5 controllers already have an anti friction ring stock. This one might just be beefier. But in turn that's lets surface area to move the thumb stick around.
I find the rings on the Dualsense stock do not provide what I would consider to be a "proper" anti-friction ring but with that said, you are correct, there is a very thin circle in which there is a distinction versus the rest of the shell.
@@GameTechTalk Yeah I agree with you. But coming from a long time ps4 controller player which has zero anti friction to ps5...it's a huge improvement even if it is so small haha.
@@francis.b You know what, you are right too. I'm being a bit tough on Sony, they did improve and that was also what, 4 years ago? The market is completely unrecognizable versus what it was then.
Yeah I can't justify myself purchasing a controller for half the price of a console when you can get the Gamesir tarantula pro which also has TMR sticks for just $70
I get it. I can't fault the HexGaming for being an outstanding product, but I certainly can't fault the Tarantula for being outstanding in it's own right, for also a fraction of the price. They each have their benefits, go with the one that works best for you!
@@CarriesOnTop if you're gonna spend $250+ for a pro controller to get an edge in fps gaming on a CONSOLE you're absolutely not doing it right. Use that money and invest on a PC and get a cheaper controller which does the same shit as this controller. That's my advice. At the end of the day do whatever you want with your money lol
@@landonbarnes4097 I think it's just a preference thing really. I like both. Not everyone can be bothered with navigating a PC too. The problem is once you are comfortable with doing so, it appears so simple, so easy to do but the reality is it's just not for everyone. I am an advocate for people doing what works best for them. No judgment here!
Not really but I like a square pattern, not circle. That's just a preference I have and this thing is the PERFECT square. Like, you would be SHOCKED at how perfect the square is, there isn't a slight curve at the edges, it's mindblowing. Not everybody likes that mind you but no, that wasn't by intent, I just didn't think of adding it, my apology.
Just received mine yesterday. Did you have some variation in circularity between the two sticks after calibration? My left stick is sitting at 3.2% error but my right I can’t get below 7% no matter how many times I calibrate it. Doesn’t seem to be an issue in game at all but was just curious. I have this and the Vader 4 pro right now and I’m trying to decide between the 2. I feel like the Vader achieves about 90% of what this controller is but these sticks and the mouse click triggers are the best I have used on any controller. Now the question is whether it’s worth about $200 more…thanks for the review!
Hey Tyler! Didn't know you picked that one up. Yes, I have that too (circularity) but much like you, these sticks feel on a league of their own despite that. And that's where I find that this solution is unique in itself. I feel like everything is a reflection of me, and that includes the "human error" element. As in, our thumbs probably move different from one hand to another, especially asymmetrical players (don't know for you, I am one usually). I get your point too with the Vader 4 Pro. For me, the thing with HexGaming is how it enables me to have this both on PC and PS5 AND to retain the excellent features (on top of adding more) such as haptic feedback and adaptive triggers. I am currently testing the P5Mate for example, a tool that lets you bring any controller (allegedly) and keyboard + mouse to PS5 and so far, it's not working with both Apex 4 and Vader 4 Pro... I like that this solution is just a "no questions asked" and just works everywhere I need it to but yup, it's not cheap, that's for sure! Thanks for your comments, let me know what you decide in the following days/weeks. It's been a gamechanger for me but it's got a high price of entry!
I just received my hex controller yesterday(this exact one) I don’t see a hex gaming token in it.. did you have to purchase that as well? Could be a nice golf ball marker
Hmmm... did you buy it off of the website? Or the Kickstarter? I wonder if I was sent a kit that was printed for the crowdfunding, it could be that the coins were specific to that? I wouldn't know to be honest, it was a nice surprise that I had no expectations for. Even that calibrating thing, I had no clue until I received it.
For those who have one, how are the adaptive triggers and haptic? On par, less than or more than in effect compared to the stock dualsense or dualsense edge. I have the DS edge, but I do miss the fluidity of at least 4 rear buttons. On the xbox, I use a 6 extra button controller, going w/ less buttons now feels limiting but 4 buttons is doable.
The Adaptive Triggers and haptics are identical. This controller is for all intents and purposes a Dualsense that they have built on top, but without sacrificing any of the default features it has, if that makes sense.
@@GameTechTalk a few things, firstly I want to say thank you for the very through and outstanding review of this controller & articulating it perfectly. Personally I like to purchase products after deep research and a dive into the pros & cons, ect.. So with that said, consider another gain of a subscriber. And Hex gaming received an order placed for this controller. Much appreciated and I wanted to give some acknowledgement, I hope Hex Gaming also follows suit.
@@llogan_gabriell ❤❤❤ Thank you for your words of affirmation!! They make me proud of the work and effort I put in and inspire me to keep working harder! As for the Phantom, that credit goes to HexGaming, I'm here diving deep but only as deep as the quality of the product can allow me. Again, thank you very very much!
I got mine 2 weeks ago and unfortunately one of the back buttons didn’t work I was so disappointed. I sent it back for repairs. I’m hoping I get it back soon!
As much as I am sorry this happened, I am thankful that you left a comment. That shows that HexGaming takes care of their products and their customers. Defects happen regardless, it's all about what companies do when it happens. Thanks for sharing!
For my gaming personally, I'd say this but I was shocked at how much the Get-A-Grip Gaming controller is viable, it just comes down to what your priority is with gaming. Anyone that is deeper into competitive, like way deeper, would probably fare much better with the Get-A-Grip Gaming one.
If you're comfortable with a bit of modding, you can even buy their TMR sticks and mod a first party Dualsense controller. That can be a fun project, with some eXtremeRate moddings on top, you can havew yourself a pretty robust solution! Thanks for engaging my guy!
Can Am recently got back into motorcycles after a multi decade hiatus. They're electric; but, Quebec is known for their abundant hydro power and electric power has certain advantages, like instant torque and less gear changes. A Can Am Origin might be worth looking into. Is Can Am still made/designed by Bombardier in Valcourt? Even if they aren't, I'm pretty sure they're still a Canadian company. I've never been one to buy an inferior product just because it's made in my state or in the US. I'm patriotic; but, I'm not a clown. However if a product is otherwise as good as its competitors then the place of manufacture will absolutely sway my decision. You're a Quebecoise, so, if a Can Am is as good as its competitors, why not be a little patriotic?
@@mattdavis9601 My wife was never too keen on hopping on the bike with me, which is shocking considering how great a driver that I am… I guess she couldn’t shake off the « added risks » of being on motorcycles, so she only rode with me a handful of times… We did agree that we would get a spyder (or similar) when the time felt right. I could get the « motorcycle » feel, and she could enjoy something more akin to driving a car, with the openness of a bike. So by going electrical bike, it means I would be partisan to the brand by having both a motorcycle, and a 3-wheel alternative down the road… You planted a seed Matt, you planted a seed. One thing for sure, electrical motorcycle makes the most sense so that credit is 110% yours as I will not go for something that is not, for leisure driving. It makes the most sense as a québécois indeed! 😊
The Vader 4 Pro certainly has a lot to offer and many reasons to own one but, and that is a personal opinion, I think the Dualsense is one of the best controllers on the market today. Seeing has the HexGaming Phantom improves on absolutely every aspect of what is already one of the best controllers to date, I would indeed say that this is the better controller in my opinion, but it's also a completely different price range with completely different features. If you are on the market for the Vader 4 Pro, please know that it is a phenomenal product, one I am happy to recommend for its prowess.
Hi, How does this controller stand against the edge. Could anyone explain in a bit detail. I'm looking for a controller that works on pc and ps5 and preferably have adaptive triggers as well as hair triggers for fps. So far these are the 2 that I am thinking. Also are the haptics same as the OG DS. And do they work exactly the same in supported games on pc Thanks in advance.
The haptics are identical and work exactly the same. Think of the HexGaming Phantom as a Dualsense with extra frosting on top to make it even sweeter! As for Edge vs Phantom, I like my Phantom better but that can become very subjective. The Phantom has better hair triggers, they feel like buttons rather than software-corrected, distance-altered, ones. It has 4 back buttons rather than 2, I also prefer the microswitch feel better than the tactile ones on the Edge. The Edge has extra software that the Phantom doesn't, it's only advantage over it in my personal opinion. There is much more I could add but at this point, it becomes a lot to type. I recommend watching both videos I did on the Phantom, it is all in there and why. Cheers!
I am currently mad, after buying other companies controllers and been left wanting, afterseeing your review i decided these are for me, and went to order only to discover i cant as they don't ship to the UK for some reason 🤬
Reasonably so. I don't know why truthfully. Plus, I asked them about 4-5 months ago when I did my first video of their Phantom, lots of people from EU asked and they said a website was coming but haven't seen that since. It's supposed to be eu.hexgaming.com I wonder if there is some kind of law blocking them or maybe there's a law about languages on the packagings and it's slowing down their process? I don't know why but you're one of many that brought this to my attention. :/
@@GameTechTalk been using them for 5+ years. I use medium rise cqc kontrol freaks. One of the first ones they ever came out with and I can’t use sticks without them now.
Mine arrived a few weeks ago I did the kickstarter - it’s my fav controller. I’ve got the HEs as well. Only thing I’m concerned about is the longevity of the short throw r2 l2, they kinda feel like they could break easy having said that they haven’t 😉 since getting this controller I’ve not picked up my scuf or edge, it’s that good 🙏
Good news is they got a fantastic warranty but I had the same concern as you if being honest. I took a good time looking at the mechanism (yay for see through) and I doubt it'll break. Maybe a very VERY solid drop directly on the trigger while the mechanism is activated, that might do it. 😨
@@GameTechTalk great review, your spot on about the sticks, once ya have done the calibration they feel amazing. I’ve got HEs in my scuf and edge but they are no where near the feel of the phantom I don’t know what extremerate have done but I’m sure it’s being copied by others as I type 😉
@@goombarrrrrr I certainly hope so because I am not crazy, nor is you. These sticks have completely redefine what I consider to be the golden standard for hall-effect sticks (and I have TMR controllers). Let's hope they figure it out quick because I want more gamers to experience what we have!
@@GameTechTalk not sure if it means a lot but my scuf HEs (after market install) calibrated have a cric test on gp-tester of 5.7% my phantom out of the box was at 7% and post using the recalibration tool both sticks are at 2% on gp-tester. I don’t know they just feel different more responsive and more forgiving than anything I’ve used before. I’ve been modding and buying controllers for many years looking for the “one” this is it I think 🦄
Update - yep my R2 just failed, now let’s see what extremerate do to resolve the problem. I consider the short throw trigger mechanism is a design flaw
I love extremerate stuff. But i hated thier Hex gaming line because they were by far the most expensive (they used to be $350) for a vastly inferior and clunky controller. Now, while i still think most "pro" controllers are overpriced, this is a much better deal
I wasn't even aware they existed before the Phantom but looking at the "custom build" market, it does seem to have a pretty wide (and sometimes outrageous) price range!
I just learnt about xbox controller chatpad recently and I been trying to look for a third party controller that's compatible with them. I wonder if this one can use the xbox 360 controller chatpad since it has an earphone jack in the middle like that. I need it for BDO on PC since the steam on screen keyboard doesn't work with the game so looking for a good solution for it. the search for a telescopic controller is kinda on hold right now. I was considering to get a telescopic controller to stuck an air remote with keyboard in the middle lol but idk might not be very good. some air remote even have a touchpad but the quality of their keyboard are often very bad. edit: actually there's also a chatpad for ps5 controller. if the shape of this is similar to ps5 controller it would be insane
The HexGaming Phantom fits the official dock but the thickness in the upper back (though completely easily to not even realize is indeed slightly thicker. I do not have the PS5 chat pad but I know about the 360 one, in fact, I probably have one of those deep deep DEEEEEEP into boxes, far too deep for my to reach at this point in time unfortunately but I doubt it would work. However, the chatpad for PS5 (didn't know that was a thing) is very likely to work with the Phantom, seeing as they can work with the official dock, that is unless the chat pad really goes up in the back of the controller. I hope this helps somehow. Cheers!
Not me laughing out loud because this is totally my sense of humor... 😅 Thank you very much on the kind words and hey, as long as you live vicariously through me, I'm happy to have you indulge in the content (while still being responsible with your spendings). Thanks brother!
I'd say the X10 is a better controller overall than the Series controller. Plus it's hall-effect sticks and triggers (good ones) that will have far less risks of drift.
Is this any good for pc? I been looking for something on this level but for pc... I got a scuf not long ago but I'm kinda disappointed with the stick quality other than that it's a great controller but the sticks are just bugging me
I was not familiar with that brand, they got some pretty sexy looking designs, one in particular that feels like a just as good (if not better looking) 30th anniversary looking model. I might check 'em out, thanks for mentioning them!
@@GameTechTalk Yes they give a lot of promo to the grey controller, i always thought that it looked too light compared to the original grey used in the PS1 and the 30th anniversary but then i found out that there are two types of grey that PlayStation 1 controllers used and it was the regular grey and light grey
@@91lifetime23 Yeah, my souvenirs reference more to the light grey one but I distinctly remember seeing both, which the 30th do embody better by having a bit of both. The Killscreen feels more like a modernized take on the originals though.
Yeah... It seems for now they are only in the Americas and Asia. I hope this changes soon, lots and lots of people keep telling me how they can't buy the products! :(
It certainly isn't cheap. I don't know that I'd want to buy one second-hand personally, I feel as though someone would sell it because they broke it and wanted to offload their problem onto somebody else. If you are open to modding yourself, I would encourage you to consider modding your own, it's fun, it's not that hard, it's more affordable and it's a new skill to learn too! Cheers
They are selling pre-order units on their website but from having gone through most comments, it would seem they do not ship to UK currently. You would need a mean to have it shipped to you from a redirecting service or something... Sounds costly as far as I am concerned.
@@bakura6410 Indeed, as the port itself must be overclocked. That is why overclocking it on PC won't make that overclock carry over to PS5. The only 1000Hz stock on PS5 is the Dualsense Edge.
I think they are not understanding what I am trying to say. I reached out to them three times. I am disappointed in their support. I was actually going to purchase another one. They tell me to try to go through the calibration steps and it does not work.
@@noelhz Sorry that you have to go through this trouble. I would suggest recording a video a dump it into a Google Drive and send it to them so they can see, that would probably make things easier.
Upcharging for Hall Effect is the most devious thing these companies are doing. This technology is not only incredibly old but also very cheap to make. Stop falling for this as a premium feature when it exists on controllers that cost $30.
I won't disagree with you because I am aware of the exact same info as you are. However, one could definitely argue that what you get here is definitely more than just the hall-effect module. You also get that little tool to program and that ought to be worth something, maybe not 20$ but you can't argue that they don't just put hall-effect, they also go one step further.
If they are asking me to pay 230$ for a controller they better not have cheeped out on any of the components. Personally way to expensive to justify but I know some friends that would love those mono color designs at a more reasonable price.
It's not cheap for sure but I'm discovering that it is quite a wide market too, there are controllers that go 2, 3 even 4 times the price as this, crazy I know. Until I review them, I won't know but if anything, I hope the tech that HexGaming did put out will be more accessible eventually because they really managed to elevate what I consider to be one of the best controllers in the entire world.
Extremerate is the parent company of Hex gaming. So yes they basically are doing the work for you. Alps and Hall effect are two different technologies.
They are using a rebranded HE sticks to that of Ginfull modules and sensors. No word if they are producing them- themselves or if the people behind ginfull are as limited batches. Nothing new here. There are alternative options. Being sold in mainland China. And on Aliexpress for international costumers. For $5-10 for 10-20 modules. Since there is no permanent software calibration for the edge. They are using calibration PCB that ad a minor delay. And then have the extra calibration tool affect it. Only to come out with poor symmetry. A say ehh. To much $$$ for what can be done for pennies.
People that backed it on the Kickstarter are received theirs pretty much every other day (based off of the comments sections at the Kickstarter). People that order now from the website will be getting it in about a month or so.
They ended their crowdfunding campaign, now they are taking preorders on their website but their whole manufacturing process is established so the "pre-order" is really not that long. There are already people in the comments that ordered from the website and got theirs.
I love the way technical hexagaming share as a new experience calibration to do our self solve the axis line precision. We like be invited to be engineer include to join built the product Awesome congratulation many product out there so poor knowledge didnt want to share to us but hexagaming give us more talent and smart product.Have you mention how many hours battery long life this controller than nacon has up to 10 hours? What about this controller?
I have not talked about battery life, I unfortunately do not have an exact number but I will say that I've been playing 4-5 hours sessions without getting depleted battery, from where I stand, it's pretty much like Dualsense with no battery loss despite the improved features.
My fellow Canadian, let's goooo!! One of those link in my description should put you on the Amazon Canada listing but that ought to do it for sure: amzn.to/3U0EX20 (affiliate). Cheers!
@@GameTechTalk Took me to the GameSir Tarantula Pro Wireless Controller need that Hex ? 😉 but I see in your description I can get direct from HexGaming thank for the video keep’em coming.
Sadly, they do not have a Phantom XBOX controller, not at this point in time at least but maybe they could consider it in the future seeing how much success they are getting with this one!
Sincerely? I wish this thing was cheaper because I need more people to experience what I experienced, this controller is groundbreaking and take it from someone that reviewed a truckload, this doesn't happen everyday, let alone every year. The good news is HexGaming just opened the floodgates, give it some time and I'm sure other companies will come up with their solutions because this is way too good to pass up.
That's the unfortunate part. I really hope this becomes a thing that other brands copy to bring the cost down over time because it's awesome to have that level of calibration!
I've played a fair amount with the first one I received and that thing is locked in. Nothing's impossible I guess but it would need some pretty serious abuse to do so as far as I am concerned.
They ain't playin' !! But seriously, that controller is something else too, and it's built on top of a pretty amazing (and not cheap) controller which also explains part of the pricing structure.
I did not illustrate my words efficiently, I'll apologize for that. By "the same", I meant exactly what you said. They both rely on a magnet and a sensor to get their readings. TMR being a buzzword to me is in the sense that Hall-Effect could've easily been called Hall-Effect V2, an improved variant to a now tried and true solution. But I don't decide how the tech is going to be called, I just mean to simplify the explanation for someone wanting to understand without getting lost in the jargon that TMR will provide everything hall-effect will with more on top of it. Because otherwise, people could think: "Oh well I don't want TMR, I want hall-effect because it doesn't drift". Do you see how my intentions are good now? In that sense, they are in fact the same. But the way said magnet is being moved within the module, or the sensor within the module, is a different thing, hence why it provides improved results.
Not even, there are far more expensive controllers than this one, but this one is far from being cheap too. Pompous... That price is basically what the 1st Xbox Elite controller was released for in an economy that was far different then. And it would break within a handful of weeks. It may not be for you, I can respect that, nonetheless, you're judging a product that charges more because it offers more and is better.
So we are here! Thank you so much!! 👍👍

@@GameTechTalk Thanks for your reviews Klef !!! 🎮🎮🎮 #Game4Ever

Is the dpad and face buttons clicky?
I will buy this one of these days since SONY won't make an official controller with Hall Effect sticks.
But do you know if the blue and white one still has that problem that you explained at the end?
The hall effect version (edit: of the Phantom) is sold out or unavailable everywhere.
@@afjer Dang, maybe my video made them run out of stock! 😎 All kidding aside though, I'm sure they'll restock shortly, I'd keep my eyes peeled and refresh every day or so, they can't certainly stop selling them if they are finding enough success to be sold out!
@@GameTechTalk I found stock on Amazon for a similar amount. The price hurt but it hurt less than buying a new controller every few months.
I might buy one… but I’m currenty waiting fot my AIM controller with hall effect sticks.. their trigger stops are just unmatched tho and the rubberized grip is top notch
AIM controller? I'll look that up, thanks for mentioning it!
I use the Gulikit TMR sticks in my DualSense, they are awesome
@southernstyle8835 care to share a link of whoch ones you got
Yeah TMR is legit, I do have some TMR (haven't yet officially reviewed one, coming soon™) but tested them, they definitely are legit. With that said, I'd still give the edge (no pun intended) to this one, that's why I mention in the video that the calibration definitely adds to the mix. Lowkey, I kind of want to buy me some TMR sticks and modify mine too!
A higher resolution TMR could be a worthy challenger to the Phantom!
So what's the process of calibrating them? Did you solder them in yourself?
@@southernstyle8835 Thanks my dude! Might pick me a pair, cheers!
@@Mr_Ruhl yup, de solder the old ones and solder in the new ones. There’s a website online that you use to calibrate them
Yeah, the controller is awesome, no doubt. It's unfortunate that Hexgaming will not deliver a controller to my state, because I live in Hawaii.
Ahh dang! That is extremely unfortunate. Why though? Is it because shipping is particularly expensive? Is it common that companies don't?
Im not sure if i missed it, but Is the calibration software available on ps5, or do you need a computer ? Thanks for the video
It is the better buy. Sony's new CEO is a money hungry ahole and is scamming his customers.
Capitalism at it's finest... not. 😥
We use some tricky math with our hall sensors to create a linear path. Seems like the module is the tool for that.
We? Do you work (or own) a company that manufactures hall-effect modules?
looks great, I wonder when they start selling in europe. I really want one now
It's been requested by many, hopefully soon! 🤞
Mine arrived today, can’t wait to try it out this weekend!
It’s out?? It says preorder on their website though or is it because I’m in uk
I used to have someone from France tell me that they couldn't order. I did ask HexGaming and it was in their plans to launch a new Europe-centric website. Seems like it hasn't happened yet but from what I was told then, the website should be when/if they do: eu.hexgaming.com
I also know people who backed it on Kickstarter (even from Europe) were able to get their controller but I don't think it is possible to buy from Kickstarter after the campaign has concluded, unlike Indiegogo.
@jmoss97 How's it been? Tellmetellmetellme! 😅
That's sick,bro😍
From where I stand, they really provided gamers with something special.
Are the buttons and dpad clicky mechanical buttons?
They are membrane, exactly the same as the original Dualsense.

DUUUUUUDEEEE!!!! I was not ready for this comment... Thank you so much, it means a lot to me! 😍
They each have their benefits, go with the one that works best for you!
yeah but does it work on ps5?
@@CarriesOnTop if you're gonna spend $250+ for a pro controller to get an edge in fps gaming on a CONSOLE you're absolutely not doing it right. Use that money and invest on a PC and get a cheaper controller which does the same shit as this controller. That's my advice. At the end of the day do whatever you want with your money lol
Why? Ps5 runs cod and others at 120fps whats wrong with console? I have both just curious
Is there a particular reason you didn’t show the circularity final calibration?
Are the dpad and face buttons clicky mechanical switches?
@@mikea63061 no they are membrane and so are the shoulder buttons as well. I do wish they would have included them

@@GameTechTalk ya I bought pre order on website. It must of been for the kickstarter only I’m assuming

Is Can Am still made/designed by Bombardier in Valcourt? Even if they aren't, I'm pretty sure they're still a Canadian company. I've never been one to buy an inferior product just because it's made in my state or in the US. I'm patriotic; but, I'm not a clown. However if a product is otherwise as good as its competitors then the place of manufacture will absolutely sway my decision. would you say this controller is better than the flydigi vader 4 pro?
The Vader 4 Pro certainly has a lot to offer and many reasons to own one but, and that is a personal opinion, I think the Dualsense is one of the best controllers on the market today. Seeing has the HexGaming Phantom improves on absolutely every aspect of what is already one of the best controllers to date, I would indeed say that this is the better controller in my opinion, but it's also a completely different price range with completely different features.
If you are on the market for the Vader 4 Pro, please know that it is a phenomenal product, one I am happy to recommend for its prowess.
Hi,
How does this controller stand against the edge. Could anyone explain in a bit detail. I'm looking for a controller that works on pc and ps5 and preferably have adaptive triggers as well as hair triggers for fps. So far these are the 2 that I am thinking. Also are the haptics same as the OG DS. And do they work exactly the same in supported games on pc
Thanks in advance.
It's supposed to be eu.hexgaming.com
I wonder if there is some kind of law blocking them or maybe there's a law about languages on the packagings and it's slowing down their process? I don't know why but you're one of many that brought this to my attention. :/
do kontrol freeks fit on those sticks?
Yeah, i have hex gaming, and the ps5 kontrol freek works perfectly with the default concave thumbsticks from hex
I need to pick me a set of Kontrol Freek, they seem quite popular, I've seen a lot of people ask me about them in my reviews. You swear by them?

Cheers!
“I never had a stick feel this good” that’s what she said! Nice review bro! You’re making me spend money on stuff I didn’t know I needed 💰
Not me laughing out loud because this is totally my sense of humor... 😅 Thank you very much on the kind words and hey, as long as you live vicariously through me, I'm happy to have you indulge in the content (while still being responsible with your spendings). Thanks brother!
@@GameTechTalk lmfao
Input lag isn't as low as the DualSense Edge.
Indeed, the Dualsense Edge "edges out" the Dualsense. Your statement rings true.
should i buy easysmx x10 or xbox controller. xbox is 5-10$ more price in my country (for pc gmaing)
I'd say the X10 is a better controller overall than the Series controller. Plus it's hall-effect sticks and triggers (good ones) that will have far less risks of drift.
did you mention polling rate?
It's the exact same as the Dualsense, aka 250hz wired and 500hz+ plus on Bluetooth, I did not no, my bad.
@@GameTechTalk faster on bluetooth? 💀anyway thanks
@@SimonFPS It was designed for Bluetooth. And it's literally a dual sense. It can be overclocked
@@SimonFPS it’s a PS5 motherboard still, so it can hit 1000hz. That’s why pros use PS5 controllers over Xbox, the latency is 1ms
Is this any good for pc? I been looking for something on this level but for pc... I got a scuf not long ago but I'm kinda disappointed with the stick quality other than that it's a great controller but the sticks are just bugging me
It works absolutely fine for PC, just as would any other Dualsense. It is a fine controller, amazing even!
I bought a killscreen controller with TMR joysticks
If only they shipped to anywhere outside of the American continent.
Yeah... It seems for now they are only in the Americas and Asia. I hope this changes soon, lots and lots of people keep telling me how they can't buy the products! :(
Wait so the triggers are buttons? Meaning you cant play racing games?
You can if you remove the hair trigger switch, basically, you can transform the button based off of what you're trying to do!
@@GameTechTalk phwew ok good, thanks for a real, no BS no shilling review. I really respect that
Most gamers just can't afford a controller this expensive! Gotta pick up a used on in a year on ebay!
Cheers
Can i buy this while in the uk using us currency online? And is it out
They are selling pre-order units on their website but from having gone through most comments, it would seem they do not ship to UK currently. You would need a mean to have it shipped to you from a redirecting service or something... Sounds costly as far as I am concerned.
very sad that hexgaming doesnt ship to cyprus :(
Sorry to hear, I wonder if they are looking for expand their reach, lots of people come to me to tell me they can't buy.
Does this one have 1000hz polling rate?
It caps at 250Hz wired but much like official Dualsense ones, it can be overclocked to 1000Hz and perform flawlessly when doing so.
@@GameTechTalk overclocking not possible on cons right?
@@bakura6410 Indeed, as the port itself must be overclocked. That is why overclocking it on PC won't make that overclock carry over to PS5. The only 1000Hz stock on PS5 is the Dualsense Edge.
Indeed...
Another Awesome Goodies Content video for GamerS...
😎🤔
Thanks Gregory! :)
I love mine but there is an issue with my tool it reverses the joysticks when i try to calibrate it. It seems to effect my calibration.
Uh, that's weird. Have you tried reaching out to them? Maybe something is indeed reversed in the tool itself?
@@GameTechTalk I'm sure that's the case lol
I will take your word on the quality and hope for a model more in my price range in the future.
Arent they just using ALPS hall effects and extremerate shells?
@@Vizr. are these tmr sticks?
This thing being shipped rn??? 👀
People that backed it on the Kickstarter are received theirs pretty much every other day (based off of the comments sections at the Kickstarter). People that order now from the website will be getting it in about a month or so.
Look at that sexy piece of work of art....👌 nice controller bro
Awww thank you! It looks dope, I like it!
Is it out I was on the website and it said 11-4-2024
They ended their crowdfunding campaign, now they are taking preorders on their website but their whole manufacturing process is established so the "pre-order" is really not that long.
Hello how do I get this in Toronto Canada 🇨🇦 ???
My fellow Canadian, let's goooo!!
One of those link in my description should put you on the Amazon Canada listing but that ought to do it for sure: amzn.to/3U0EX20 (affiliate). Cheers!
@@GameTechTalk Thank you 🙏🏽
@@GameTechTalk Took me to the GameSir Tarantula Pro Wireless Controller need that Hex ? 😉 but I see in your description I can get direct from HexGaming thank for the video keep’em coming.
Doe they have ah xbox one ?
Sadly, they do not have a Phantom XBOX controller, not at this point in time at least but maybe they could consider it in the future seeing how much success they are getting with this one!
@@GameTechTalk i think so too it would by great hopefully they doe i really like it i have ah transparent keyboard it will fit perfectly
Damn. If only i could afford that shit
@@ThomasTheTankEngine22 gulikit has a tmr stick made for dualsense
"don't get a PS5 Pro, get this controller instead" 💯🧢
Sometimes, I leave clues for myself too when/if I rewatch my content.... that sentence could very well be one of those! 😅
input lag ?
Exact same as Dualsense, so it is excellent overall
That price tho 😢
That's the unfortunate part. I really hope this becomes a thing that other brands copy to bring the cost down over time because it's awesome to have that level of calibration!
And the whole thing will probably be ruined once those grips inevitably peel off
I've played a fair amount with the first one I received and that thing is locked in. Nothing's impossible I guess but it would need some pretty serious abuse to do so as far as I am concerned.
@GameTechTalk ya right look up all the people this has happened to. If you have acidic skin it's a wrap

They ain't playin' !! But seriously, that controller is something else too, and it's built on top of a pretty amazing (and not cheap) controller which also explains part of the pricing structure.
This is an ad, right?
What's the answer you are looking for?
I think I just got it. Thanks.
PS5 Shape - no thx.

TMR and Hall Effect are both electromagnetic sensors, but they are not the same. Don't make these claims.
But the way said magnet is being moved within the module, or the sensor within the module, is a different thing, hence why it provides improved results.

the most expensivce and pompous controller ive ever seen, useless.
