I also grew up in a family like this. My mother was a stay at home momma. She worked hard all day cleaning, cooking, helping when needed in school and community events. They were square dancers held at our community building and included the whole family. There was lots of love in our home. I know now we certainly didn’t have the best, newest of things but I didn’t know it then. And my mother always had supper in the making to be ready when Daddy got home. She always allowed time to get her bath and into a dress or skirt and blouse before Daddy got home. Everything wasn’t always perfect but I remember very few of those times. We had a home full of love and loving extended family on both my mother’s and dad’s side. They gave my brother and myself a good foundation for life. I miss them so very much ❤️but have been blessed with my own home where after 51 years of marriage we still have love and more important our home and lives are centered around God and filled with His blessings.
God has supplied the important things. He's blessed you abundantly with things that many have no clue they need. And as you serve and obey him, he'll give you more than you can ever ask or think. It's just as it should be :). 51 years...what an accomplishment and blessing. Jesus is coming back very soon. Seems to be not many years or months away by the looks of things. With your good foundation and trust in God nourished daily with prayer and time in His word, it's going to be all you need. Happy memories and a hope for things to come. In His time.
How blessed you are! You had a wonderful upbringing with extraordinary parents & a lovely life! You are rich indeed in things that really count..” love, caring & surrounded by family!” Thanks for sharing with us all!♥️

Yes this is my Very Favorite program I grew up with, and now at 73 I still watch it! What a super, Family show! That's how I was raised with Love And Family, Friends and Neighbors! Today Children Miss out, because give them a game on a Tablet,or Home Computer, and that's their life! How sad, because,Those at my age are so Richly Blessed,by having ,Fun Time,Outside,Roller Skating,as did my Four Children,They All Cherish it,But Father Knows Best,Reruns Still GIVE Wonderful ,Memories! ❤ THEM ALL
We as a family watched our one TV in black and white.Mom and Dad and brother are gone. Grandma and Grandpa and Aunt Cassie and cousins are gone. My husband passed away a few months ago. This Christmas will just be our son and I. We are decorating with Grandma's and Mom's and my antique decorations. We are buying lots of gifts for each other and a turkey dinner and we will remember all of our loved ones. My son lives with me now and our hearts remember.
Everyone saying how unlike real life the show is, but I grew up in a family like this. Oh it wasn't perfect, but it was so full of love. Can't help but cry for all that has changed, for all I miss now. I'm one lucky chick for having had the experience.
Where did you grow up Amy? I really identify with your experiences. It’s sad knowing such a wonderful past will never return. When I drive in the country and see old wooden houses falling apart I think of all the people and families who once shared so much life and love together in those houses. And now they’re all gone. Take care...

I loved this show. I remember playing Kathy or Kitten. (In practice). What wonderful years those years were. I can’t believe the current time is 2020 not 1955. Greatly written. Thank you!
I’m a 80s baby that just started watching the reruns of Father Knows Best on TV a few months ago. I see why this show was so popular in the 50s. I came across this movie today 10/23/2019 and it was really good!
As a kid in the 1950s, I never missed "Father Knows Best," a show about a family that was as All-American as you could get. The stories were never Shakespearian, but also good truths about human nature. As the years have gone by and now I'm a grumpy old man, something else makes me less grumpy and that's the professionalism of both Robert Young and Jane Wyatt. Remember that this show gained huge popularity during the height of the McCarthy Era. I was hugely disappointed in during the 1960 Presidential campaign, Robert Young hosted a Q&A show for Richard Nixon, a profane name in my family. But also, as the years have passed, I found out Jane Wyatt was a frequent guest at the White House...when FDR was President. But when you watched their TV show, they were Jim and Margaret Anderson, not a Republican and a Democrat. If only could we see that kind of professionalism and respect again.
Im 33 and I could listen to stories from people like you for hours. Today's world is so different. Everyone is hustling and bustling and stressing..The younger generation are weak and their attention spans are atrocious! The government tries their hardest to erase the nuclear family and family values as well as morals and biblical truth. I love watching movies like these. My childhood was not a good one but at my grandma's house in Mississippi, we had good family oriented Christmases. Similar to these. I wish I was born in a different era. Hope you have a wonderful Christmas sir! 2024.
This brings back memory of the good old days watching father knows best and the Brady bunch Roy Rodger and Dale Evans Gene Autry and many more I'm 85 now and still enjoy these old reruns thanks for sharing
@Brian 67 It was indeed a simpler time. America was in Her 'Golden Age'. Compare life today with life in the 1950's-60's when there were over 70-thousand factories, now closed, you could lose a job at 8:00 AM and find a new job by 9:30. That IS a MUCH SIMPLER LIFE than we have today, where hundreds of people show-up for one job to make minimum wage. You couldn't be more off the mark with your comment.
I have looked at father knows best since I was 10 yrs old I am now in my 70s caught on the Father’s Day marathon from Saturday morning until early Monday morning love this program didn’t know the Christmas reunion existed I really enjoyed😂😮😢😊 thanks for presenting
This was the second reunion film made in 1977. The first one was done in May of 77 where everyone comes home to celebrate Jim & Margaret's anniversary. It's here on youtube.
we lost Robert Young in '98 and Jane Wyatt in 2006....Both left behind a lot of beautiful memories of a family show that everyone wanted their family to be like.
Watching in December 2020. I was 17 in 1977 when this was filmed. I remember loving it then, because I watched the reruns of the 50s and 60s television show "Father Knows Best". Watching this again brings back so many memories, thank you for this 🤗😊♥️.
Phooey. For every lovely family like this there were 3 with women trapped with no careers, alcoholism, and abuse. Get real. Back then if your husband was not nice there was not much you could do. If not, then the children of these simple families would have had the same kind of family.
Thank you so much for putting this on TH-cam; I must have watched it at least a dozen times since I first discovered it here. The more our present day world spins out of control, the more I crave the nostalgic, and this movie is a fine example of the things I cling to these days. I can't say I remember watching this series as a child, but I do watch its reruns on Antennae TV every morning. I can't think of a single present day TV series that I enjoy as much as watching the "Father Knows Best" reruns. I have four of the seasons on DVD, but I've yet to lay my hands on a copy of this lovely movie. Thanks again for posting this wonderful "90 minutes" of yesteryear family entertainment.
OMG!!!! Thanks for including the commercials! And God 🙏 bless you for sharing this with us. I grew up during those times and they were sweet, unlike the majority of garbage you see today.
I love this show and I've seen all of them. This one is sad for me. That we grow up and all our most cherish places and people are forever changing. Still get a tear in my eye. To be able to go back for just a little while
I loved watching Father knows best when I was growing , but I don't remember watching this Christmas special. I love it so much I'll probably watch it over and over . I miss the 70's when I was growing up . I always think about my grandparents house . They passed away about 15 years ago . It seems unreal sometimes. I still dream about their house. It was home away from home for me . My parents moved too much and lived in apartments until 78 and 79 they finally bought a house but , then my dad passed away. Then my mom moved us around way to much right up until I moved away. Then she decided to stay in one place go figure. If I could afford it I would still love to buy a house that was built back in the 60's and 70's. They will last forever .
Bonnie Brown I loved this show as well, when it was made. That was in the fifties, not the Seventies. It was well into multiple years of reruns by the seventies.
I love this show I am 73 and this was one of my favorite those were the days it shows what Christmas was all about I still look at it on tv those were the good old days.
My favorite tv series from childhood! They were the perfect family with the very best father in the whole world, I always thought but my parents divorced when I was young. Loved this show & everyone appeared me on it!♥️
Pure nostalgia. I may only be 40 but my 2 month old son and myself love all of these shows. It's funny how one network dro]ed them and then another picked them back up just for them to drop then for CBS to pick them up again. Wish I was around when these were the shows. I love how the ppl talked back them especially the women
Hi miss Joyce I live in Canada I just love how my American friends enjoy these shows from the UK. I wish you such a wonderful holiday season please keep safe "and keep watching" 🎄♥️
I love this show it takes me back when I would visit my grandparents I was ten years old when it aired on tv thanks for the memories and merry Christmas to all 🥰💕🙏🏻😢
I usually get caught in these stories and it seem like it is still happening just like in other shows. Yes in our heart they will never end. It kind of keeps us young in mind we never get old.
My mother watched this show and my grandparents were very much like the Anderson were my 👩 has told me. My mother is in a Nursing Home age 83 and her only sibling, my uncle Gary, is 80. Told 👩 about this reunion show when I asset it weeks ago& now I have the opportunity to view it again. I have watched reruns of this wonderful TV show as often as I can. I grew up in the 60’s & 70’s and kids were a little more respectful, responsible, mannered, and behaved better then than they do today. I have no idea if my father ever watched this show or not cuz he passed away suddenly at age 65 in 2003. Kids today are simply incorrigible and more shows are needed like this today. Love this reunion program plus the series!! Thanks for posting on U/Tube!’😊😊😊😊😊❤❤❤❤❤
I learned every good things about life love respect and much more from classic films from Hollywood from 40/50/60. Sad it’s no longer like this, just the opposite. We don’t have any relationships like what western’s people have or had. I used to watched Mary Crony or Cluny on tv, couldn’t remembered. Loved her voice and songs.
I think this is going to be my favorite Christmas movie from now on. It was wonderful visiting the Anderson again. I watched the show and reruns, but this was great
Wish I could of had a family like that wouldn't be in therapy we just were verbally physically and mentally abused for years. People that have this kind of family are lucky
Great Scott , , I've watched this made for TV move several months ago one Saturday evening when I was then living in my old neighborhood because this move is so wholesome because all of the original cast members from the original series are in this one & today Antenna TV still airs the original TV series every weekday morning .
December 4th.2022. My husband and i have been saying for years, that the new Christmas movies and shows are not the same. I missed the old, heartfelt movies i remember as a kid. I longed for the older Tv shows and songs. Then, i fell on this and a Dean Martin special. Ozzie and Harriet Christmas. I had never seen this episode of one of my Childhood favorites. To see the Anderson family like this was just what i needed. Thank you for putting this out. It was great. Merry Christmas to all and God' s blessings to you and your family.

When television was great to watch and less stressful than in today's world. Thanks for sharing...1950s !
Love this,search it every year
Didn't even know they made a reunion movie. As a new fan of the 50's show, very awesome! Thanks!
This was actually the 2nd reunion movie. The first one was 7 months earlier in 1977, and can currently be viewed on Tubi TV.
How right you are!♥️
Im 33 and I could listen to stories from people like you for hours. 2024.
I still watch every morning....@ I'm 63 years old!!! Love it !
These are the shows I love they are classics and good old fashioned family shows wish they were on television now
This brings back memory of the good old days watching father knows best and the Brady bunch Roy Rodger and Dale Evans Gene Autry and many more I'm 85 now and still enjoy these old reruns thanks for sharing
Life was simple back then. Sure miss the good old days. Thank you for the movie and have a Merry Christmas everyone!!
@Brian 67 Not like we do now - no school shootings, for instance..
SHUT UP YA SAP
AW REMEMBER THE JEWISH NEIGHBOR HOOD IN TREMONT THE BRONX BEFORE ROBERT MOSES STEAM ROLLED THE NEIGHBOR HOOD WITH THE CROSS BRONX EXPRESSWAY
@@MrMenefrego1 YEA, BUT CAN'T GET LOX AND BAGLE WITH A EGG CREAM ON 2ND AVE IN NYC NO MORE
I have looked at father knows best since I was 10 yrs old I am now in my 70s caught on the Father’s Day marathon from Saturday morning until early Monday morning love this program didn’t know the Christmas reunion existed I really enjoyed😂😮😢😊 thanks for presenting
So true life was good then.We just didn't know it then
Jane Wyatt is also Spock’s mother, Amanda from Star Trek TOS ( tv & movie series )
@@davemacpherson4752 She played on Dr Welby M.D. as a divorced wife to the Dr. . They had disagreement over something they didn't settle.
everyone??!, yeah right!!! i watch this show cuz i like the older sister, i wish i had nailed her.
@@QQuetzalcoatl1982 Disgusting pig!
Such a special time. The world wasn't perfect..... but it just seemed to be such a kinder, happier place! This show brings joy to my heart!! ❤
Watching in December 2020. I was 17 in 1977 when this was filmed. I remember loving it then, because I watched the reruns of the 50s and 60s television show "Father Knows Best". Watching this again brings back so many memories, thank you for this 🤗😊♥️.
I grew up with this show in the 50's. I was about 2 years younger than "Bud". Life was simpler then. Family was more united. I miss that.
Phooey. For every lovely family like this there were 3 with women trapped with no careers, alcoholism, and abuse. Get real. Back then if your husband was not nice there was not much you could do. If not, then the children of these simple families would have had the same kind of family.
i have all the dvds box set

Me too
I was about Kathy’s age.
It's always been my favorite show since I was a child and none other came as close to this that I can remember.
To be able to go back for just a little while
Definitely a time of love and family, I kinda wish I was back in those days. Just clean TV too.
Jane Wyatt just oozed class and sophistication. I mean she didn't even have to speak, just looked it.
Bonnie Brown
I loved this show as well, when it was made. That was in the fifties, not the Seventies. It was well into multiple years of reruns by the seventies.
I love the way you talked about the 60's and 70's and that the houses would last fotever
I miss the 70s too, growing up as a child in Iran, watching many of the 60s' and 70s' shows.
💖
I love this show I am 73 and this was one of my favorite those were the days it shows what Christmas was all about I still look at it on tv those were the good old days.
Great series. Too bad that they don't make good shows like this anymore. It was a great time with a lot of good shows.
I loved this program.
And this house!

Is that the original actress that played Betty? She looks different.

Best time for tv. Wholesome moral and caring families.
My favorite tv series from childhood! They were the perfect family with the very best father in the whole world, I always thought but my parents divorced when I was young. Loved this show & everyone appeared me on it!♥️
I saw this special back in '77. Nice to see it on YT.

I am age 74. Back in the day, Father Knows Best was my favorite show. I wished my family was like the Anderson family.
Nobody's family was like the Andersons.
Peter Null Robert Young was a severe and mean spirited alcoholic but I have to say his acting skills were top notch.

WOW that was a great movie, I still watch the reruns every morning on Antenna TV
The good old days. I love this show.
I'll be 70 years old like father knows best 70 years old in December 20th 2024

I still watch this. This is was the best of times and I am so happy that I was brought up during this beautiful time ❤🎅
I usually get caught in these stories and it seem like it is still happening just like in other shows. Yes in our heart they will never end. It kind of keeps us young in mind we never get old.
Awesome movie I loved Father knows Best, and yes I grew up watching it. 💕🌹
I love seeing the old Anderson home set.I absolutley love the tree with the old fashioned ornaments.
I love this film, thank you for sharing. 💖👏
Thank you for sharing this old show, Merry Christmas 2018. I even enjoyed seeing the old commercials.
Me too. 😊
Always enjoyed watching good family shows like this one.Such great acting !
I didn't know that there was a Christmas movie of Father Knows Best. What a nice surprise.
Loved this show as a kid and still do. Thanks.
I watched the show and reruns, but this was great
Oh, how life was so good back then.
I loved this wonderful film and all the goodness it brings! It's great to see these kinds of happy endings!! Thanks so much for sharing this with us!
