Great info I was ready to drop my whole housing to inspect for a new noise that started but after this I now know I can inspect the 4wd collar with just pulling one side
Man you all are so under subscribed for the quality of your content. I am so excited to watch the dually series again. Thanks for the content and information!
ALWAYS remove the fill plug FIRST before draining.......If you drain it first and then can't remove the fill plug, you cant move the vehicle. Same thing for changing any fluids.
Fkn awesome bro. Gonna do the same thing this wkend. I think I may have over filled the gbx. Do u think that would cause it to leak or maybe a clogged vent. ???
@@themiddleagedgoodtimers4768 thanks either way brother. Just waiting on parts 2 get here now. In my part of Arkansas....apparently they have to make em from scratch lmmfao
Does that work on the passenger side though? I know it works on the driver side to just pop the axle spindle out, but I’m not sure if it works on passenger side?

@@themiddleagedgoodtimers4768 do you have to repair this even if you don't use 4 wheel drive?
Those little dinguses are guide pins or gasket alignment dowels lmaoo 😂 made my day
My 2007 Tahoe is doing the EXACT same thing. This helped huge. Now I know what to expect. Thank You!!!!!!
No problem, thanks for watching!

Hey bud nice video. Is it the lock ring C - Clip hold the shaft?
Great job bro,👍
Did u out any type of RTV or anything on gasket before installing or just the gasket. I am following your steps exactly, thanks
Just the gasket if my memory serves me correctly.
Also when u are installing the seal one side of the seal says airside, does that side go in the housing or look up where u can still see the writing
I honestly don’t remember that writing so I’m not sure.
I have the same issue going on. Good info Thanks!
Excellent job my friend
Thank you very much!
Nice video. Thanks for sharing.
What weight oil would I use for an 09 Silverado. Same issues
Not sure if there is much of a difference between 07 and 09 but I used SAE 80W-90.
Hi Tyson, did you have drain the front diff oil to do this job?
Thanks! Do you know if this is similar on 2014-2019 Silverados?
I've read that they are a little bit different but I'm honestly not too sure.
Did you have any thumping in 4wd Is engaged?
No sir.
Do you have to replace the bearing as well? How many miles was the truck then please? Thanks!
I don’t believe I replaced the bearing. The truck had about 105,000 miles on it when I replaced the seal.
I love it.. thanks so much
Thank you 👍
Where did you get gaskets?
From Advance Auto Parts.
thanks a lot man, good job
No problem. Thanks for the kind words and thanks for watching!

I suppose it’s possible but I’m honestly not sure.

I need the number or name of the new part
I used Duralast CV Axle Seal 710475 but you should double check just to make sure.
Thank you
Whats part number?

Omg! This is so beyond my mediocre wrenching skills, but an excellent vid non the less!🙈
Need replace the bearings!Seals replace, don’t fix the problem!
The newer trucks are easier. The 88-98 trucks are a pain to do in comparison
That was a massive waste of time you an do it all just by popping out the inner axle and the seal will pop smooth out. Like hours more work lol
Does that work on the passenger side though? I know it works on the driver side to just pop the axle spindle out, but I’m not sure if it works on passenger side?
No that does not work on this generation truck. You need to remove the whole assembly just as he did
