      Unfortunately, I had an investment that went South to put it mildly. I moved to South Florida for a job and the GTO is in storage at the moment. Chris is still in Albuquerque and the truck (Gordon) is running great. Once I'm able to find a decent location and save up a bit more money, I'll get the car out of storage and continue the build.

    After pulling the engine... step one is drop the rear. Spring perches and control arms need inspection, then bust the rust. Oh: that plastic fitting? Axle tube vent.

    Oh my GAWD. I love this truck so much. I hate the new crap they produce today. I would rather buy an old truck and build it exactly the way I want and pocket the savings. I piece of crap new truck will run you $70,000 and up. You can build a awesome machine for far less and have far better reliability. Great work. Thank you for sharing. 👍👍👍🧰🔧😎😎

    Your videos are fantastic! I know life can be hectic, but I hope you continue to make content. I’m a middle aged father. I lost my father a few years ago. I was helping my mother sell his truck. After seeing the guys show up to test drive it. I realized that it had to go to someone who would love it and care for it just like he had. I knew I had to buy it. My father taught me how to repair just about anything and I knew his maintenance schedule and practices better than anyone. My 6yr old son is named after my father so I came to the realization that the truck had to be his first vehicle. The truck will only ever have father to son ownership. The truck is a 2010 GMC Sierra SLE with 148,000 miles. It runs amazing. I have been systematically locating slow reaction or sensors operating to the outer limits of their parameters and replacing them. I have the fuel trims dialed in within a few percent of one another. I serviced all fluids with AMSOIL products although I am not convinced they are the best yet. Still in the evaluation phase. 😂. After servicing my front differential I developed a leak from my front passanger side axel seal. I found your video on its replacement. It was a fantastic video and very informative. I intend to do this job shortly. Fortunately mine hasn’t left and puddles, but it is clearly wet and ready for replacement. Thank you for sharing your experiences because they have helped me push forward with my goals. I love older cars and will avoid ever having car payments on the poorly engineered planned obsolescence vehicles they are producing today. 😂😂

    It's not clear to me why anyone would want "faster" acceleration on any of the modern bikes. Me personally, I am never in need of more power, but I always want another gear. I'm always looking for a 7th gear, trying to click up and find another gear. One of the mysteries of the Universe is why every modern motorcycle is geared way too low? ? The 2nd Generation Hayabusa is one of the few bikes that is geared very good from the factory, and doesn't have the horrendous super low gear ratios of all the other Japanese, and European bikes. But it could still use taller gearing in 6th. Think about it this way.... Imagine how many riders are going to be driving the Hayabusa at redline in 5th gear, and then power shifting into 6th gear? This would be somewhere around 180mph. The Hayabusa is not a race bike, it's sold and marketed as a streetbike for public roads. What they should have done is put a taller 6th gear on the bike, and then advertise it as having an "overdrive" gear for "smooth" cruising at 75 mph (110 to 120 kmh), which is where 99% of riding is done on the highway.

    hi, I have exactly the same hayabusa, I find the front braking mediocre, and I want to change the 2 calipers with Brembo, so the question is the following, is it possible to adapt the Brembo calipers of the gen 2 of 2013 in abs version on this 2009 version, and also the calipers of the gen 3 Brembo stylema? I thank you in advance. people who have done the manipulation, do not hesitate to respond as well.

    • @dd1273
      @dd1273 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I know that it is already possible to adapt the R1 calipers on the gsxr forks with 2.5mm shims, and that normally this should fit on the hayabusa gen 2, but aesthetically I would prefer to put brembo marked calipers like gen 2 or gen 3. thank you for your response, and if anyone has the information, please pass it on, that would be super nice.

      Not too sure about transmission issues. I had a problem in 2nd gear on my first gen busa. I was told the only way to fix it was to open up the transmission and go through it. I opted to just sell the bike to a friend for a discount.

    We purchased a 4.3 l from jegs last may and it was around the first of june in a 97 s10. My friend took it on a long trip and it started knocking. Oil pressure normal, so is coolant. That's an ingenious way to get the body off the frame, it's so simple! I don't know how I didn't figure this out myself. I've only done it with a two post lift, but even that was sketchier than this. We had to use the very edge of each foot to lift the body by the pinch welds, then jack up on each corner to move the feet in where they'd be safe.

      The install was pretty straightforward, you just pull the old wheels off, install the adapters and then the new wheels. Christopher paid around $5,500 for the wheels, tires and the adapters from Dually King Industries but that was in December of 2020 so they may be a little more now.

    What’s your opinion on the chassis tech kit? Do you think it worth spending the extra money on a more expensive kit or would you go with the chassis tech one again. I’ve been looking at them for my truck but I’ve read a lot of bad reviews on chassis tech in general. It is just super tempting when I can save $400 on a chasss tech kit vs a switch kit. I just don’t want something that isn’t good or is going to cause me issues as the truck is very sentimental to me.

    • @themiddleagedgoodtimers4768
      @themiddleagedgoodtimers4768 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hard to say as far as longevity but, so far so good. The truck has about 1,000 miles on it since we did the suspension and we haven’t had any issues. If you want piece of mind I’d go with the more expensive kit but we were on a budget with all the other stuff we had to do to get the truck on the road so we went with the cheaper option.
