- Unbelievable deal on a fishing reel at Walmart. I went to purchase more Mirror Lures that are on sale and to look at the Ugly Stik Gx2. I took a gander at the reels and noticed that there were PENN FIERCE 4000 reels marked down to $45. I looked very closely at the display label to make sure I was seeing the correct item marked down. I quickly grabbed the reel, lures and a new GX2 spinning rod and headed to the counter. To my surprise the reel rang up at $70 instead of $45. I explain all the details in the video about how things played out after that moment.

The fierce 3 is definitely a nice reel
That is a very good deal congrats on that..wish this stuff would go on sale when I need it haha. But honestly I don’t mind paying full price, Penn makes good 4000 size spinning reels at affordable price. I got the pursuit II 4000 when it first came out for $42 and still use it today, got a pursuit III for like $46. You really don’t need fancy expensive gear to catch nice fish..time put in is the key.
I just bought a Penn Senator 113H conventional reel for $45 at Walmart, normally $112 but it was on clearance

I've found many "mistakes" like that on Amazon.Had one reel listed for $79 and everywhere else you looked it was $120.They honored it but right after that it went back to $120.
Last one I found was an Accurate Platinum Twindrag ATD 50 reel,I figured they wouldn't honor it...but I took a chance and ordered 4 for $1ea + $5.95 S&H lol.
As I told the person in the email,"If people are to lazy to double check their postings for spelling,price mistakes,etc. then they should be held accountable."
That's the problem today,no one is held accountable for making mistakes because they're to lazy to double check...here's your gold star sticker instead.
I've noticed that if you dont buy these items and add them to your cart often the prices change

Take a picture of the price with your phone/camera for anything that looks too good to be on sale. When this exact situation occurs, pull out the picture and say here's what it's priced at. They typically don't argue and change the price to the sale price.

That's funny I was at Wal Mart and saw a couple of Penn Fierce 3000 size for $45 dollars too, I didn't get them because I have too many reels already, I think they are clearance items and that's the right price.

I JUST purchased a RANDOM FIND at a Walmart… the PENN FIERCE III 5000 size reel! I was looking in the fishing section for a stringer and I was like: “-OOOH! What’s this! (With a grin on my face).
It cost me $89.00. I was gonna buy it from PENN’s website for $109, then as of right now PENN has a SALE on the PENN FIERCE reels and the 5000 size is $94.00. So I figured I save a little money and go purchase it.
I’m gonna spool it up with 300 yards of 30lb Suffix 832 Advanced Superline Braid and put it on my Berkley Big Game Power Series Rod (8 ft Medium Heavy 2 piece collapsable rod). This and my Ugly Stik GX2 are gonna be my “Jack of all Trades” setups.

I was at Walmart and they had Peak Coolant for $8 a jug compared to when they’re $18. I made sure to take a photo before heading up front to pay for it.
I just got the penn fierce 4 what type of line and lb should I put on to it ?
I put a bait caster on that same gtx2 and it casts nice I use weighted swivel clip as a leader holder so i can put any size hook or even a fly on it.
I went to Walmart this past weekend for a rod and reel , seen on the Walmart app that the rod and reel combo was 100 $ but i get up to Walmart and the rod and reel was separated wo i had to switch a couple tjings out !! But basically walmart does this on purpose. They think are slick
Love finding a great deal like that.....it's like scratching a decent winning lottery ticket. I found a grill at Walmart at the crazy price of $40. (shelf tag) for a $149. grill . This was in the winter just before spring. I took it to the register and it rang up $149. I asked for a manager. She came over and checked the shelf tag and came back and said store policy is she only has to give me a 15% discount (or maybe it was 10% or 20%...can't remember) for mismarked items. But I sweet talked her and batted my eyelashes and she gave it to me for the $40. She said it was a leftover clearance tag from the year before. WOW! Some clearance!
Ha ha...too funny, great story. I don't have the sweet talk, batting eyelashes personality. Mom always said I could catch more flies with honey instead of vinegar. I tend to be a bit more on the sweet and sour side when these things happen.
They have to give u the shelf price they can’t not give it to u for that ! They can sue u ! Just bought 80 kayak seat at academy for 39 cause somebody messed up

I have 15 cats and no problem with furniture scratching. They have their scratching posts and use them. I think I only ever had to use a squirt bottle of water once or twice when they were young and they learned fast not to scratch furniture.

Thanks for asking. I just use them til they wear out usually. It seems like the older spinning reels aren't made for braided line. I know some guys who have retired reels due to that fact.

Great video JC, I went out and got me a GX2 Ugly Stick 6 foot 6 and put a Penn Pursuit 3 4000 on it. What would be a good size braid for this set up, fishing for Sheepsheads, Black Drum, Reds, you know the fun stuff?
Thanks for watching. I've been using 15 lb. braid and it's been working out good. I tried some 20 lb braid, but just couldn't get as smooth casting distance as the 15.

Thanks for watching. Yeah, it was a great find for sure. It's rigged and getting used this morning...I'll have to check out those numbers. I've only fished with a black, white and silver one. I did find a chartreuse and white one on sale that I bought too.
I just got a Penn 4000 series Spincaster for 29$ that was supposed to be 129$ on Amazon bc they were too lazy to correct their mistake and I knew it was a typo but ordered it anyway and sure as shit they shipped it for 29$ but the next day when I was gonna get three more the price got changed back to 129$. At least I got lucky once!!!!
When the Penn Pursuit II 4000 were going out, and then new Pursuit III's were coming in, I found a Walmart hat had the Pursuit II on close out for $9.00! I asked them to get everyone they had, they only had 2, I bought them both $18.00. Best deal I ever found at a walmart!!! St. Pete, fFL

How are the tuff guides on the ugly stiks? Do they grooved from the braided line? I am thinking of getting one but i have read so many negative comments on the guides. Thanks
I haven't had a problem with grooves in the eyes.

@@kennywee1190 On my 4000 size spinning reels I use fifteen and twenty pound test braid. The leader size varies. The topwater videos I've been making a lot of lately the leader is twenty five pound test mono most of the time. Thanks for asking.

The fierce 3 came out a couple days before my bday. So i have to get me the 6000 series 10 ft rod with 50lb braid on it. My new surf set up.
Hey what rod did you match it up with? I just got the penn fierce 3 in 2000, 4000, 6000.
I just got the combo it seems to be a really nice pole. Feirce 3 pole and reel
I picked up the shimano 4000 fx 25 bucks not bad reel very smooth quite
Had the Penn Pursuit II and Fierce II. Both reels didn’t last 8 months for me :/ even with care. They get the job done but once splashed its over.
Sorry to hear the bad news. I've been using several of the pursuit 2 reels for several years every week, great experiences on my side. Mine have been splashed, dropped in the sand, totally dunked underwater and they are still going strong....like you said though, with care. If I dunk mine I tear it down within 24 hours and get it back in good oiled and greased shape.

Do you prefer the Penn Fiece series over the Penn Battle series? I personally feel the build quality of the Battle supercedes the Fierce.. You're thoughts?
Thanks for watching. I have only used the Pursuit 2 series, Spinfisher 7500 and now the Fierce. I'm convinced that PENN has AMAZING budget spinning reels. I've caught some giants on my PENN Pursuit 2 6000 and 4000 models. They are easy to work on and just keep on going and going.
I bought two Ugly Stik GX2 combos years ago. The reels are finally falling apart. I want to replace them with a decent spinning reel for all around freshwater fishing. Do you know if the Pursuit III 4000 will fit nicely on the 6'6" ugly stiks? Or should I go with the 3000? By the way, I have a similar story. I got two GX2's for $14 dollars a piece at Walmart because they were priced wrong. When it rang up for $14 dollars I ran back and bought another one 😁👌
I use 4000 Penn Pursuits on all 3 of my Gx2 6'6" rods, great combos.

Lol similar thing happened to me at Dicks supporting in Delaware (couldn't happen to a better outfit)
They had stickers on Penn Battle 7ft rod and 5000 reel combo marked at 49.99 lol
I was just there with the wife getting some little odds n ends.
So they had 2 there and I was like these are marked wrong I am buying them lol
We got up to counter it rung up to 149.99 I was like sticker says 49.99
Mgr comes over and says they forgot the 1 on the sticker lol
And said he would honor but just for the 1 lol
So needless to say I was happy
And ran out of there.

Thanks for watching. It's better because of the metal case and it has additional rubber washers where the screws are that hold the side case on for extra protection from water. Now that Penn has upgraded the pursuit's bearings to being sealed and they've changed the handle to a power handle the fierce isn't much better.
@@RadReelingFishing the flat handle is better, that round knob will hurt your fingers after long use. you'll see

A tip about Walmart when you get in the store open your Walmart app and with the app scan tool scan all the merch you want to buy and you will find more deals that aren't even showing , last week i bought some tapes listed for 3.99 when i scanned it ,it was on clearance for get this 13 cents if i didn't scan i would have never known .This same guy on here that post deals of all the cray prices than he resells on ebay and craigs but if its clearance in one store does not mean its the same price in another store.

this happens every year in some walmart in mexico in our equivalent for the black friday.. 60inch+ tvs marked by mistake at 20 bucks and people really take advantage of this blunders because our consumer protection agency fines the shit out of retailers that dont respect advertised prices even when it is a clear mistake. the offer is good for as long as the price is advertised!! =D

I fish with Penn reels and Ugly Stik rods mostly. I love all of my combinations with those two companies.

Me too, I have three different ugly sticks and a penn fierce 2 reel along with a myriad of other equipment from many different companies, I’m consistently impressed with anything penn and anything ugly stick, def a good recommendation. Right now I’m in the market for just a regular 7’ medium/fast rod and reel combo for striper fishing, I wanted something a little different but I don’t think I’m going to beat what I can get with penn and ugly stick, just wanted to make sure =)

Any good retail outlet that makes a mistake and put up the wrong price on any product will give you the price as advertised and eat the loss....
If I price is actually labeled wrong at a walmart they have to honor the 1st sell. Not anymore then 1 tho
