I love my Penn pursuit 3 6000. I use it on 30 lbs Chinooks salmon..... Nothing as large as you are catching...... But I get to manhandle these fish..... Awesome video Catch a big one 🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟😋🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟
*Was very surprised at the sensitivity of this rod **enjoyable.fishing** recommend Was very impressed. And the extendable handle really lets you get a great casting action.*
I use mine for salmon fishing I have no issues I know he is dealing with much larger fish. The penns are great value for the money.... And I'm cheap, because I'm on a government pension..... So I have to be frugal I hope this helps you 🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟
Haha thats why i paused and stared for a minute before i was like "Ok he swam off" lol i didnt think he was gonna make it after the belly flop of the century
@@zanderlz5909 I was unaware at the moment, But I thought it was the penn pursuit ll. That's the model I have & pursuit ll has the old drag washers, Now I have the penn battle lll 10k
I throw lures on a 4000 and a 6000 (5000 would be great too) for certain species and i also fish cut bait on bottom on an 8000 for sharks and bull reds
Hey really liked your vid I have several Penn pursuit 2-800 on 12' and 1-6000 on 10' Penn pursuit III rod I love them, can you do a video on your backpack I see you carry a tackle box I just bought a samurai sawara I do surf and setting to try fishing in inlets and the backpack is very convenient for the inlets and places like Mosquito Lagoon thanks.
what size is your penn pursuit i dont know what size to get a 4000 or a 5000 i fish anywhere from sometimes beach and pier to offshore the biggest fish i would go after would most likely be a yellowfin tuna. please get back to me btw the flounder catch was awesome!
I have them in 2500, 3000, 4000, 6000 and 8000 sizes so i have one for every job. If i had to pick 1 size to do it all with id go with a 5 or 6000 on an 8ft surf rod.
Under $70 for a decent saltwater rod and reel is a tall order but id say the Penn Pursuit II 6000 with an Okuma longitude 8ft medium surf rod is a trusty setup coming in at around $85
That was 50lb braid....... any heavier line and youre sacrificing to much casting distance. Everything is a give and take, and youre always going to have break offs when fishing the rocks
Awesome vid! That treble hook really fucked up that fishes face. I'm wanting to switch all mine to a singles. Have you ever tried that or does it help?

THAT'S VERY HUGE.
I am Thai surf fishing lover and will always follow your video. 😃😃😃😃

Good watching......can I ask if the reels have any flex under pressure from a big fish?

Hey, a lefty just like me! 👍
Me too!
Nice setup. I ordered a 8000 and excited
Those Penn pursuit drag systems will get super hot! Hooked up a 6ft shark and man let me tell you that reel was hot!
I hear that! This one was SMOKIN hot after all those runs
@@AllWaterAngler I bet! I heard you can Swap out the Standard washer's with the newer penn Carbon fiber washers
The pursuit 3 have the ht-100 drag system you dont need to change it because they are already carbon fiber washers

What line strength do you use?
Don't you think you need use a heavier gear rather than leaving the fish and the ocean with your hook and line?

Bro…you put a bloody Spanish Mack…what do you expect? 🤷🏽♂️🤷🏽♂️ Nice battle!
Well I was aiming for bull reds but Florida will be Florida 😂
Awesome vid! That treble hook really fucked up that fishes face. I'm wanting to switch all mine to a singles. Have you ever tried that or does it help?
U get less hook ups but it doesn’t mess them up
Size braid on reel?
He said 50 lbs
I use 50 for salmon fishing in Georgian Bay ontario
I try to get away from the Spanish your trying to find them 😂😂😂😂
3:45 rod?
Love the video man, those reels are beasts and you gon catch one of them sum bitches one day
Ill be going back same time next year to try and land one 🤙
Left handed?
I am right handed but on spinning gear i fish whats considered "left handed" setup because it actually lets me use my right hand more.
Nice

Awesome fight!
