I recently purchased your products and restored the black paint on my A4. It looks amazing and I want to keep it that way. However, right now the foam cannon, pressure washer and touchless dryer are not in the cards. What do you recommend as an alternative for those who do not have all of this extra equipment? Thanks
Hi! Those are great questions. Even if you don't have an expensive pressure washer, you can still get great foaming action with a TORQ Foam Cannon. The TORQ Foam Blaster Foam Gun combines the soapy water solution with air and running water to spray foam over your car. Simply turn the dial to adjust the dilution ratio of the soapy foam sprayed from the nozzle. The soap solution bottle holds 32 oz. of liquid. Fill with plain water, then add 1 - 3 oz. of your favorite Chemical Guys car wash soap to suit the level and type of dirt on the vehicle. The foam that blankets your car will lubricate the surface and help protect your Audi from swirls and scratches, keeping it looking its best for the longest! Pair it with a chenille microfiber mitt, and some After Wash to dry your car, and you're all set! Hey! Absolutely, Black Light Auto Wash is perfect for dark color paintwork. It lays down a thick blanket of suds that reduce the chances of swirls and scratches while enhancing gloss.
Awesome vid! I completely understand you guys are showing your products and so you want to take your time. Also the viper deserves the time lol but is there a possibility you can make a video showing how to detail (wash) if you were running a business? 4 brushes is just too much for someone who is mobile doing fleet washes or is on a heavy time restraint... Love the vids!
Hey buddy, how are you? Thanks for reaching out to us. A fast and efficient way to detail a car is by using a waterless wash like EcoSmart, it's easy to spray on and wipe off without any hassle. Ecosmart can be used on glass, headlights, taillights, and wheels. I completely understand what you mean with the four brushes. If you're looking for a simpler solution, the Easy Reach Wheel and Rim Detailing Brush for getting inside the dirt out from inside of the wheel. The Body & Wheel Flagged Tip Short Handle Brush is great for the face of the wheel after you get the grime out from the behind. I'll leave the links for these two products below! Hey Marta! Add two or three ounces of your favorite car wash soap to your bucket, foam cannon or foam gun to add cleaning power and lubrication. - CG Nick
Wow chemguys the viper looks great it’s been a long time since I’ve seen a Dodge Viper don’t see many of them around anymore. Anyways it looks amazing and it was smart to use those dryers to dry the car. I own a black car and it shows everything lol. Anyways boys keep the great videos coming! Thanks Mathew, you're right about the Viper, it's a rarity these days. We see allot of Dodge Chargers and Challengers these days, they've taken up the mantle as the new wave of muscle cars. It looks like it took you guys all day to just wash the viper. I wish I had the time. Five different brushed used on each wheel. Long straight strokes to wash the car and a little blower to dry it.
Hi there, I just bought a black Honda S2000 and researching best methods for cleaning. I notice you didn't jet wash the snow foam off prior to two bucket method. Any particular reason for this? I thought it would be best to jet wash the snow foam off and remove any grit/dirt before applying a mitt? Thanks!
Hi James, congrats on the s2k! I saw a black one with a blue interior yesterday, it was so beautiful! Black Light uses advanced synthetic lubricants, hyper-surfactants, and gloss enhancers to emulsify dirt, separate it from the surface, and gently guide it away for a scratch-free shine. The dirt, grime, and dust are surrounded and lifted away from the surface, ensuring that your paint is never scratched during the washing process. Thanks for commenting and stay tuned for new how-to videos coming soon!
Yeah they are lovely cars! OK cool, so if i was using a normal snow foam which doesn't contain your magical ingredients you would jet wash off first? Just this is the first video I've seen where this hasn't been done. I'll look at buying some of this Black Light then from Slims here in the UK.
Yeah, if you are using a soap without emulsifying technology, I would definitely wash it off after the first application of foam. If those particles of dirt and dust are not lifted up from the surface and coated, they could scratch your paint when dragged with the mitt. Also, remember to use the mitt in straight lines and not circular motions in order to prevents swirls in the paint!
Great choice on getting the s2k in black. I would definitely recommend picking up some Black Light Wash. However, it's just the first step in a whole line of products that we engineered just for black cars. Since your car is new, we recommend doing a full detail so you now have a baseline. Wash the car with Black Light Wash, clay, and polish it. Follow that with Black Light Glaze and then a super durable sealant like Jet Seal. Finally, top it off with our Black Wax. Your s2k will look new! Make sure to send us before and after pics! We would love to see your car. If you have trouble finding any of the listed products, let me know and I will link them to you!
Hi Sean, it's just easier to use the side where your palm is facing downward. Also it doesn't make sense to keep rotating the mitt just to utilize the other side. With washing, the name of the game is to wash and dry your car quickly. Stay tuned for more great videos!
Most of the vacuums can also be blowers. Do you think it would be bad to use the blower feature to dry the car? My thinking is they blow air from inside the canister and I would think would blow some dirt out onto the car? Thoughts on that logic or do you see folks or yourselves use vacuums as blowers for this car drying purpose? Thank you another good video. Precaution with black paint a must.
Doug slape I've done it many times with a vacuum and you will get dirt blown on it occasionally. I recommend a large plush soft towel to dry as a detailer.
We use dedicated blowers at the garage, you don't need the most powerful blower on the market. One of the reasons that someone might want to avoid using a vacuum cleaner is sucking up some dirt particles and launching them at the paint. Also since the air pressure is high, you could damage the paint if the air hits the same location for too long, but you have to be really careless to do that. Stay tuned for more great videos Doug.
What is the PSI range yous use on your power washers? How do you know if it's too strong and will harm the paint or not strong enough and doesn't remove any dirt? Question coming from a typical garden hose user whose interested in buying a power washer but doesn't want it to be overpowered and destroy my car.
Hi Steve, thanks for watching our videos, and reaching out to us. From our experience, the tolerable PSI for washing your car is anywhere from 800-3100. The most important thing to note is GPM which is a big factor in producing good foam when using a foam cannon. When using pressure washers with high PSI's and GPM, stand a comfortable distance away. 2700-3100 is pretty powerful.
Cool video and cool car. I have a question. In the summer sometimes when I wash our cars, and I add soap to the bucket and then water. After half way of using the soap, I get no soap on the mitt mitt and there's water in the bucket only. Is it my fault, am I putting to little soap or is it the soaps fault.
Chemical Guys Thanks but what do you mean by agitating. Do you mean mixing the soap. Also is it better to put the soap first or fill the bucket with water than but soap
Stir the soap so you can get some foaming action. You should fill the bucket with water first, then you would want to add the soap after so it takes longer to settle at the bottom.
Hey guy what's up have a quick question what's a good product that you guys have or that I can use to remove the glue on the tint of the vehicles I bought a car and it looks like the guy try to take the 10th off and he just left the glue stuff on. Hector Ramirez
Hi Hector, that's a really good question. I would recommend cleaning the area first, followed by using a clay bar, then using some Butter Wet Wax. The Butter Wet Wax contains oils that will break down the glue. You might also consider a scraping knife to scrape off the residue. There's a video where we remove some stickers, it's a good example of how to remove left over glue. Stay tuned for more great videos Hector. C.G. Hi Brandon, we use a 2700 PSI 2.3 GPM gas operated pressure washer, I went online and checked one out for you. Some people get the electric pressure washers because they're more affordable, but from our experience the electric pressure washers don't have enough GPM. One of the other issues we notice is that some of the electric pressure washers don't have compatible nozzle tips, they have these futuristic spray wands with proprietary attachments. Stay tuned Brandon, we've got more great content coming your way. C.G. Wouldn't it have been even better to have rinsed the foam off the car before contact washing? You have residual dirt particles trapped in that foam that you are now rubbing into the paint with the mitt. Even if some particles are completely emulsified, you can't guarantee that all are. Why not take the extra 10 min to rinse and foam again before contact washing? Just my opinion, love the viper and results!

Hey Damian, we can definitely give you some suggestions. For the paint, you can use EcoSmart or any quick detail spray to remove dirt from the exterior. If you prefer, you can also use our Tough Mudder soap with a two bucket system complete with grit guards. For the wheels you can use Nonsense, Orange Degreaser, or All Clean with a Body & Wheel Flagged Tip Short Handle Brush. For the leather seats, you can use the Leather Cleaner, and the Leather Conditioner. For any vinyl, rubber, or plastic pieces, we recommend using either VRP, or the Tire and Trim Gel. I'm going to leave you a series of links to the products I've mentioned for your convenience. Hey guys great vid I had a question. I recently bought a pressure washer and snow foam cannon but my foam came out very watery and I was wondering if it was my dilution ratio I will admit I don’t know the proper dilution and how to tell using the numbers on the snow foam cannon. My pressure washer shouldn’t be the issue it makes 2800 psi using 2.3 GPM. Help Me!
MikeEM1 it’s a Torq snow foamer man I think I just messed up the ratio I got kinda confused with the numbers on the side of the bottle so I just filled it with water and added soap till I thought it was good lol I don’t really know the proper ratio.
Mike EM1 is right, 3-4oz of soap is the way to go. Try not to shake the bottle violently because that causes bubbles to form inside the bottle. Warm water in the bottle seems to work the best.

What kind of pressure washer do you recommend?
Hi Brandon, we use a 2700 PSI 2.3 GPM gas operated pressure washer, I went online and checked one out for you. Some people get the electric pressure washers because they're more affordable, but from our experience the electric pressure washers don't have enough GPM. One of the other issues we notice is that some of the electric pressure washers don't have compatible nozzle tips, they have these futuristic spray wands with proprietary attachments. Stay tuned Brandon, we've got more great content coming your way.

I tried a leaf blower to dry mine, and still ended up with spots. Any ideas on how I can avoid this?
J Del Try using a microfiber towel
May have to, but car is black. Was trying to avoid it. Ty
If you use like a quick wax, it will remove those spots
Ok ty
You guys should Detail a motorcycle
Wouldn't it have been even better to have rinsed the foam off the car before contact washing? You have residual dirt particles trapped in that foam that you are now rubbing into the paint with the mitt. Even if some particles are completely emulsified, you can't guarantee that all are. Why not take the extra 10 min to rinse and foam again before contact washing? Just my opinion, love the viper and results!
The short answer is it involves even more water consumption.
Hey guys. What is the best pressure washer?

Chemical Guys Thank you so much...
You're welcome buddy!
Hey always love the vids.. great stuff!!! What you guys recommend for wash and wax on a atv/utv? Or possibly to a video!
Stay tuned for more great videos Damian!

The pressure washer sounds better than the Prius.
That's not a viper, it's a 2000 mazda miata, you're not fooling me!
Help Me!
Cristian Herrera what cannon do you have? 2800psi with 2.3 gpm should have really thick foam
MikeEM1 it’s a Torq snow foamer man I think I just messed up the ratio I got kinda confused with the numbers on the side of the bottle so I just filled it with water and added soap till I thought it was good lol I don’t really know the proper ratio.
Cristian Herrera 3-4oz of soap in 700ml should be good. If you still have issues, get a better foam cannon(MTM Hydro)
MikeEM1 I think it’s just my dilution ratio bro thanks tho man
Mike EM1 is right, 3-4oz of soap is the way to go. Try not to shake the bottle violently because that causes bubbles to form inside the bottle. Warm water in the bottle seems to work the best.
Also don't forget your gumboots! :)
Why should I choose to use the Gerbil Wheel Brushes compared to wheel woolies
Hi Gagan, the Gerbil Wheel Brushes utilize real wool compared to the Wheel Woolies that use a synthetic material. Wool has many benefits, it's ultra soft, acts as an anti microbial, and is more resilient than synthetic materials. Stay tuned Gagan, we've got more great videos coming your way.

Will the Dirt trap fit in Home Depot and Lowe 5 gallon bucket?
Aaron 1530091 yes it will.
It won't fit the lowes bucket. It will fit the Home depot buckets, but very tight at the bottom
Aaron 1530091 yes
rain tomorrow
Still not using a electric pressure washer to show how much it sucks compared to the gas one??
Hey there, Nick prefers the gas operated model to the electric pressure washer because the gas model has a higher GPM. Stay tuned for more great videos from the Chemical Guys team.
