      @@beardedbros7215 Wow, me too, brother. But I do them in batches. I scrub them with soap and let it sit while I do the next batch. Then go back to the first batch and rinse it well. Of all the hundreds of detailing videos on TH-cam, yours are by far the most detailed and the very best quality. I'm amazed at how much effort you put into everything. Just the level of detailing you do would be exhausting for most, but to add recording video, taking photos, and editing everything on top of that is definitely something to be commended. Very good stuff and please keep up the great work!

    As a kid i was told to use a gas (petrol) soaked rag to clean road tar off the bodywork of my grandparents car. 😳 I could not have been more than 5/6 years old. It worked but it was a far cry from the techniques and materials used here!

    You have, once again, changed my wheel well game. It was YOU who convinced me to buy a wheel roller so that the wheels can be cleaned to their ultimate potential, inside and out while they're dismounted from the vehicle. In three years, when I fully retire from my existing gig at ripe age of 50, I feel confident that I'll be able to offer my clients a full and robust battery of services to keep all their vehicles happily on the road...err...at least looking clean while doing it.

      Excellent question and one not covered nearly enough on detailing vids. The internet is awash with detailing vids which give chapter and verse on everything else, but good advice on which products to use on carbon ceramic discs and why, is very scant indeed.

      I had similar thoughts, why go to all that effort not to coat the wheels and callipers with a simple coating like Gtechniq C5. After all if its a winter protection. Surely wheel cleaners would just strip the wax off relatively quickly. None the less great video and good information for people to learn from.

    Great video in general, though I advise against the use of aluminum wheel lug nuts since they simply aren't meant to withstand real heavy duty road and track use. Aluminum is way too soft for this application and will likely strip if screwed on and off often. For really serious driving I recommend sticking to OEM lug nuts, quality aftermarket chrome molybdenum steel alloy nuts or if you want the ultimate in lightweight strength and safety, Titanium alloy lug nuts.
    Yes, F1 cars nowadays resort to single central aluminum alloy lug nuts for ultimate lightness, but they only get screwed on and off relatively few times in a race and don't need to survive with intact treads too long after the race.

      I'm going to give these a go but I agree, they're not ideal and Ti would do nicely.

      Aluminium nuts is pretty fine. Aluminium Studs is a no no.
      If unlucky they shear of all at once.

    • @4G12
      @4G12 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Nikel87
      Aluminium nuts are fine if they are screwed on and off very carefully, torqued properly with a torqued wrench and antisieze applied to minimize the dissimilar metals turning into a battery problem. BTW Aluminium is actually more electronegative then iron so it is the Aluminum that will oxidize first and iron will only be affected after the Aluminium is all eaten up.
      Aluminium wheel nuts have been used safely on cars such as Porsches as OEM lug nuts but for regular track use steel alloy or titanium lug nuts are used.
