@@PungiFungi true, and I don’t think Voyager was ever fully briefed on the Dominion War, and how it ended. To be honest I don’t know when in the continuity did voyager even come back? Like was it before or after the war was over?
That would be an interesting episode, like Kira, B'Elanna had a profound hatred for Cardassia. It would have been a character development goldmine to have B'Elanna visit Cardassia and see that the enemy she fought no longer exists.
It's actually pretty fucked up that in a Lower Decks episode, Mariner wishes a group of Ensigns she hates would just "go join the Maquis". The fate of the Maquis is so infamous and gruesome that it's become an euphemism for "dying horribly".
The Dominion wasn't ready to start anything yet and Sisko knew that. They wanted to turn Cardassia space into a fortified fortress before attacking....but the mining of the wormhole forced their hand.
@@christopherg2347 No, she wasn't considered for the role of Kira Nerys; the Kira character was supposed TO BE Ro Laren. When Michelle Forbes didn't want to continue playing the part because she didn't want to be tied down for several years by a main cast role on a TV show, they created the Kira Nerys character to replace the role Ro Laren was supposed to have on DS9.
What always interested me was how much Eddington reminded me of Garak in most every way, only to find that they were not in fact played by the same actor. Could've fooled me. They could be brothers as far as I'm concerned.
Voyager after they return: Oh damn Cardassia is destroyed and the Maquis are gone. I sorta wanna meet Sisko and see how he defeated the Dominion. Starfleet: Yeah. He comitted war crimes against your people but we brushed that under the carpet because that whole thing was based af. Then he got rewarded by turning into a God.
Sisko made the planet uninhabitable to humans and when it hit the maquis launched evac ships no one died. With that said he did turn them into refugees, which I'm sure Starfleet command had no problem with cause they wanted them out of the DMZ in the first place. With the attack on the USS malinche like sisko said they became an Intolerable threat to the security of the federation and he eliminated that threat. in other word, f**k around and find out 🤷🏾♂️
Watching Voyager clips back to back with those of DS9 really shows you how much better DS9 was as a show. Better writing, much better performances, the whole show is just on a whole other level.
