If anyone is familiar with the dsbm (depressive suicidal blackmetal) project Leviathan, and the artist behind it, Jef Whitehead. He used to be a pro growing up, is on the cover of skate or die 2, and is also an accomplished tattoo artist and came up with the original logo for Thunder trucks, but sold it for cheap before they blew up. Imagine that.

Also World Industries was initially going to be called World Enterprises, the guy “O” @gnarcake came up with the names
Great video, I’d like to see background on nss (nice skate shoes) the first shoes I actually picked out myself from the grocery store. Before my complete investment into skateboarding.

I created my skateboard deck company in 2020 first named mushroom skateboards but decided to change it last minute, in early 2021 I changed it to spirit boards but changed it to make sure I didn't get a cease and desist from ghost-boards. In late 2021 I changed it to martian skateboards but changed that one also because of alien skateboards. Now my small company is called LSD boards, I mixed the logo of spirit boards and mushroom skateboards to create the logo.

You wouldn’t have gotten a cease and desist from Ghost for Spirit, and martians and different than aliens, but, there already is an LSD (Lake Shore Drive) Skateboards.

SMA world division, is the name of Rocco's company that later became World Industries.
It was originally SMA/Rocco Division. It was believed to have been changed due to legal reasons, but commonly known to be changed for fear of physical retribution.
@@stvnd1 Correct, it was SMA Rocco Division. My guess is l Skip Engblom,founder of Santa Monica Airlines skateboards ( SMA) was not a fan of rocco.Then Natas Kaupas leaving SMA to form 101 under the Rocco /Prime woodshop.
My favorite is the pragmatic but iconic shortys because they were the first to make short bolts 😂

....it's cold tonight Merry Christmas everyone... This is just a thought..and I need to be upfront from the beginning, Powell peralta is everything to me, I'm old b. Anyway , I got several of these supreme powell long sleeves and hoodies. I didn't think much about them, but I get asked about them alot at work, and I always have to explain that they're powell peralta and not supreme shirts and hoodies. I'm familiar with the story that Powell used the font and style in a 1979 ad. BUT , why didn't powell ever sue supreme for some of that sweet supreme money? The font is a bit different, but a coincidence, I don't know.

I can't substantiate this, but it's more than coincidence, in 1995 The Smashing Pumpkins Billy Corgan started wearing his "Zero" costume , almost months later Jamie Thomas started Zero using the exact same Font that Billy had on his shirt along with the star, exactly the same as the first "American Zero" tee's Jamie put out. No one has ever asked Jamie where he got the Zero name from.
We did ask Jamie when we did our 14 Things You Didn’t know About Zero Episode. He rode for Zero sophisto and apparently wanted Howell to do a grab off spin when it become Sophisto. He says this is where the name Zero came from.

Supreme copied the name and logo from Powell Peralta's "Supreme" ad campaign. Powell's logo was appropriated from a defunct gas station and the name refers to the fuel grade (which is still denoted, on pumps, with the red background).
