As a stage combat teacher in the UK, it was fascinating to watch the guys try their hands at my profession! They’re not too dissimilar from my students!

He is does really well most of the time, but he has learned fencing on the show before, as he mentioned. And he has a dance background. He isn't a complete novice here. I love Eugene, and he is definitely really skilled, but the other guys do well for their backgrounds too. LOL, I think Keith and Zach are just incapable of doing most things seriously.

The final fight was glorious, of course, but the comic timing of the previous improv (as Keith steps around Eugene's dead body to say/squeak "I'll try the rocky road") was impeccable!

I must comment on how much Eugene has grown into the supportive relationships from Zach and Keith.
I remember years ago when he was so reserved, and it's so beautiful to see him flourish within these wonderful friendships 💜
the second time i performed in R+J we did it as the red sox and yankees and all our swordfighting was with baseball bats but we still did all the like technique and everything (covid theatre = make it make sense to perform in a ballpark lol)

We learned how to sword fight in my 9th grade English class just because of Romeo and Juliet.... we also learned how do group dances for the same reason....

i feel you keith, i have a bs in political science which is hilarious
tbh, even though Romeo and Juliet is a tragedy, I feel like having comedians (or people who are just great hams haha) do the play is more fitting. Every performance I've ever seen has been so uptight, and that misses that Romeo and Juliet are kids who are super over the top...because they're kids. Having hammy people do the play though, that's absolutely not going to be missed.
(See the short of thirsty af juliet. I swear, 10/10 best juliet I, as a pleb who doesn't watch a lot of classic performances, have ever seen.)
