I live in florida and it's nothing but sand out here. I've never attempted to build a pond in my life but I'm gonna give it a go. Hopefully it works out.
Very interesting. I have been following your work, and I know you have been using wood chips to cover the ground for the past few years. While digging the ground for your pond did you notice any changes to the first few inches of soil?
Interesting video Dan, can I know why you needed a pond liner if you already have clay soil? Wouldn't percoalation of water benefit your landscape more? Newbie here.
Great job👍 next time get a 2×10 board to spread your weight on the edge of the hole that way you dont compromise the integrity of the strata(dirt), thanks for sharing!
@@johnkolby5120 hey. Yes I DID! Came out Beautiful. 14' long 8' wide 4' deep. 12' long creek. I'm currently raising over 1k koi fry that hatched this spring.
Depends how big I as quite a fit person if it comes to digging made a pond of 160.000 liters. Mostly by hand and transport by loader. I'm sure you can make a 10.000 liter pond if you want to.
Hero use an axe and DRENCH the soil you’re digging with your hose. Wet soil is SOOOOO much easier to dig up. Was able to dig my 9ft by 6ft by 2ft pond in like two hours.
I never thought I'd see someone sweep dirt from a hole... And I really never thought it would actually work haha. Great guide.
I am Japanese. Your farm is wonderful.
It looks awesome so far. Can't wait to see the next part!
I haven't gotten to a pond... yet, but I did put in my first food forest this year. Thanks for the inspiration!
