    This looks like a very interesting project indeed and the fish cave will be useful to the small fish for sure. Thanks for sharing.

    A cave for the fish to hide in. Hmm. Good idea. I've always wanted a pond. That's below the bottom of my list. Maybe? You inspired me. I do have a bird bath with a solar fountain in it !

    hey man. I followed your page, revisited it time and time again and checked out if part 3 of this video is already uploaded. Can you please upload it? I really like the way you tell how to build a pond. I'm a Filipino by the way.

    Im building a stream with a bog filter and a pond. I have geotextile fabric and 60 mil eddm rubber to line it all. But I also have some large tarps that I no longer need. Would it harm anything if I put the tarps down too, and if so, in what order...tarp, geo, then liner...or geo, then tarp, then rubber liner?

      It's easier than it looks! Just takes time and it's not an easy project to commit to.

    Could have just laid a flagstone across the narrower part of the deep end to create the fish cave

    Not deep enough. Will get too hot in summer and too cold in winter. I think you need at least 4-5 feet deep.

    • @SolarAbyss
      @SolarAbyss 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It's fine for goldfish, for koi it should be at least 3 feet deep though. Might need a bucket heater to make sure the surface doesn't completely freeze. I've had my pond for 4 years and had no issues with temperatures down to 12F and it's only a fraction of this size, ~60 gallons.

      @@SolarAbyss , hi, I dug my self a swimming pool for my fur kid, I put a cheep plastic pool in the dug out part, I got rid of plastic pool, and dugdown 2 feet and making a way for my dog to walk up to the edge to get out. It is really a place to sit with her while she swims. large pool I gave away to grandkids. The pool is round and about 6 feet by 2 feet deep. I concreted in the edge all around several years ago. So maybe it's not large enough? Would like your advice. Thanks
