    Chloe is a perfect co-leader for the Greens - like Marama Davidson she is comfortable using 'hate speech' yet would decry it by others.
    I always find it interesting when someone takes the stance that "it doesn't matter that you prove me so clearly in the wrong I will NEVER apologise'
    Also in this interview I'm glad she reminded me of the 'power' I have to keep The Greens out of government

      And of course, the Green party is still the party of the environment, they want to price farmers'' emissions, increase environmental regulation, reduce the use of cars, ban offshore oil and gas exploration, subsidise solar, increase funding for predator free 2050, add to BORA the right to a healthy environment, encourage denser housing to reduce urban sprawl, ban seabed mining, increase nature and marine reserves, ban bottom trawling, etc etc

    Poverty is a real problem. Inequity is not.

    • @AholeAtheist
      @AholeAtheist 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      Poverty stems from inequity. For the past four decades, under both National and Labour, the gap between wages/benefits and worker productivity and inflation have grown, while profits have grown larger and larger. So essentially the rich get richer, while the poor get poorer. That's inequity. That's where poverty is coming from.

    • @luckyM9963
      @luckyM9963 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      I disagree. Poverty is mainly a consequence of an inadequate man and a woman bringing a child for the wrong reasons or not being able to bring them up because of the lack of skills. There are many parents who are not just hopeless but also not educated enough to take the biggest responsibility on this planet which is again:- procreating. Crime is also a consequence of everything I have just explained. The only way to eradicate poverty and crime is to regulate child birth. It should not be considered a human right but a human privilege. @@AholeAtheist After all this... You will always have some people earning more than others and it is called:- competition. The mask really came off with this one. You can see Chloe's ambitions for social engineering, her absolute disdain and hatred towards those on the opposite end of the political spectrum. She's shocked and appalled by the existence of the "Rrrrright WWWWWing" aka National - forgetting that they got a majority vote, so that means she has disdain and hatred for the bulk of their supporters, too. She talks about "unifying" the country but is absolutely combative when it comes to the idea of building bridges or working with those she politically disagrees with. The only conclusion then is that "unifying the country" means making sure everyone converts to her party's vision of socialist utopia and overthrows the evil bigots she hates.

    People on the left are often very focused on the power of words, even equating certain language with violence, and calls for nuance and context are discounted as racist dogwhistles or a defense of hate speech. Okay. But when it's them being criticised for their language, like Marama Davidson's unambiguously prejudiced 'Cis white men are the main cause of violence' claim or Chloe's 'from the river to the sea' chant, suddenly nuance and context are important again, and the harm that words can potentially do is minimised and downplayed. And the downplay always comes with a slightly condescending subtext of 'oh you poor thing, you just don't understand intersectional feminism or critical race theory' or whichever shibboleth they are using that month. It's not going to help them become a grass roots party of the people. I would actually love a left wing, environmentally focused party to support in NZ, but the Greens don't seem to be playing with a straight bat. No parties in NZ are honest to a fault, but the Greens pretend to be so-very-ethical. It's grating.

    she will oppose demoracy and the treaty principles bill yet she will say 'get involved in politics'
    isn't it that simple, politics is democracy ?

    20% of the current Israel people are Palestinian. Surely if it were a genocide they would start with them instead of them enjoying equal rights as Israeli citizens. Calling the war a genocide is absurd. The Israelis in this conflict are doing more to protect civilians than any nation has ever done in history. Genocide is trying to exterminate a people, a genome - ocide if you will. It's fair to say you wish fewer innocent were killed but to call it a genocide is ridiculous.

      The UN International Court of Justice ruled two weeks ago that it’s plausible that Israel is committing genocide in Gaza and are proceeding to gather evidence to deliberate that case.
      Are you sure you’re not the uneducated one here, or is it the world’s highest authority on international law who are getting it wrong?

    Within the two first minutes, you can smell the BS. The use of deliberately vague and phony statements with woke fad words thrown in to sound 'progressive.' 'You wield the power to hold politicians to account.' 'Let's unpack that theory of change like structural and systemic change.' 'Changing the cultural landscape.' None of this convinces me that she has any concrete ideas on addressing homelessness, housing, migration, economy, crime, education, health, etc. I didn't like the condescending tone she took with Jack when he challenged some of her statements, she seems set on pushing her views on others whether they like it or not.

    In the 1940s the word "Nakbar" meaning "disaster" was first used by the Syrian intellectual Constantine Zureig to describe the failure of the five Arab States in the 1948 Arab-Israeli war (the first Arab-Israeli war) to defeat and kill all the Jews. It wasn't about the loss of the land to the "white Jewish colonists" as the word is reinterpreted to mean today. Chole should learn some history.
