      I need help on the passenger side blend door actuator. I don't know where it's located. Can you make a video on it please?

      blend door actuator replaced on drivers side, now there is now air to vents.

    First, this video was incredible, helped me out tremendously and saved me a lot of money! But two things I learned: 1) Like in this video, I replaced the driver side actuator, which controls the mode (Floor, dash, defrost) But the clicking continued. It turned out it was the passenger side actuator behind the glove box that was the culprit. This controls the recirc/outside air function. It's much easier to get to than the driver's side. 2) The replacement part for the DRIVER side mode door needs to have the circuit board INSIDE the old actuator transferred to the new part. The board gives feedback to the body computer where the motor/door is in its travel. The PASSENGER side actuator will NOT have this circuit board because the recirc function just opens and closes the door on that side, there's no in between. I hope my experience helps others!

      I just replaced my actuator today and now instead of it only blowing defrost it only blows front and floor vents so you may have just saved my life by mentioning the circuit board in the actuator so thank you!

    FYI for anyone who doesn't hear the exact same noise, the noise from my car was coming from around the same place but was a constant loud buzz for several seconds when the vents were closed rather than a click. Replacing the blend door actuator still fixed the issue, I did a teardown on the old part and noticed the keyed motor rod had torn up the plastic gear so it was mostly spinning freely causing the buzzing.
    Great video! Good camera work, made it really easy to follow along with the repair. Took about 2 hours for me, those screws were really difficult to get out and back in.

    Much thanks! Repaired my 2015 Fiesta Titanium 5spd. Blower actuator today using this tutorial. Took me just shy of 1 hour. Most of the time was struggling with putting the screws back in to hold the actuator in place. One tip. When putting the screws back in, tighten them as far as possible using only the torch bit. Then, add the ratchet to the bit to finish tightening.

    I did it! It was not easy so I would give a little advice. 1) determine weather the clicking is coming from the driver or passenger side . To do this drop your glove compartment door and you can see the passenger module easily . Then test the system , if that is not clicking then you know its the driver side which is what this video is about. 2) Get good lighting from different angles. 3) Make sure you have good eyesight and a flexible left arm. 4) Take your time in removing the cable from the module. The red lock is tricky to pull up to release but tinker and it will happen. 5) When replacing the new module, the new gear has to be rotated to fit properly . It may be okay if the old actuator has the gear in the same position as the new one. Otherwise the large gear wheel has to be rotated until the module gear seats itself. One more comment, Ford did a bad job on this issue. They knew it was bad but did not correct the problem. It is very expensive repair going to the dealer.

    This video was very helpful in helping me deal with this problem with my 2017 Ford Fiesta SE inexpensively. I've seen at least one other video demonstrating this exact situation; however, this one stressed important subtleties that make it a better video.
    I used a Klein 65200 mini ratchet to remove the actuator. It was not easy for me as a left-handed person, but it was doable. (I found that I had to use my right hand to get into position.
    This is the third climate control actuator that has failed in my vehicle. The date on the part I removed suggested it as original but the knocking sound came from the exact location that it had previously so maybe it wasn't a "brand new part" when it was replaced previously. The first two times saw failures in cold weather but this time was different.
    Overall I am not amused with the random minor failures of auxiliary equipment in my Ford. I have what I believe to be a jammed window regulator in the rear passenger-side door that I noticed around the same time as this most recent climate control actuator failure. I miss my 1998 Toyota Corolla LE which generally only failed for well-deserved reasons related to age and neglect, heh...

I was able to do this without removing the airbag like showed, but I was barely able to fit my hands and arms in these small spaces - and don’t drop your torx socket like I did under the dash. It took me 30 minuets to find it where it fell into a space under the steering column. 🤣

      Shoot man. I feel bad this went so long unanswered. Neglecting to do this repair won't harm anything, except maybe in some pretty extreme circumstances, and I only say that so that someone doesn't come by and say, 'well if such and such happens it would cause harm'. The only reason I'm wanting to do it is because it's annoying and I've noticed that the temperature controls are either really cold or very hot and nowhere in between. So I'm finally getting around to doing it.

    Great video! my wife has a 2015 fiesta which has been making this clicking noise for a while. she took it to the mechanic and he told her that it was a actuator and that he fixed it. but when she got the car back, it was still making the noise. she didn't go back. • @broomhandle1
      @broomhandle1 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The recirculating door actuator is behind the glove box (oem part: YH1896), different actuator. the one in the video is the mode door actuator (oem part: YH1895), but same general idea. If you want to check if that's what it is, you can fold the glove box down and unplug it, if the clicking stops that's the culprit. As far as I know, the 2015 fiesta has 3 actuators, mode door (controls which vents air comes out of), recirculating door, and blend door (controls air temperature, oem part: YH1935, in the same general area as the one in the video).

    That's is actually the MODE door actuator. If you purchase the blend door actuator and replace this part it is not correct. The blend door actuator will fit in the same spot, and even plug in, however look closely at your pins and connectors. Mode door (drivers side in video) has 5 pins. Blend door on passenger side behind glove box has 2 pins.

    • @NotNowCato1254
      @NotNowCato1254 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Mason. My 2013 RHD ST has the same issue (I think). Suggests that the blend door is stuck on one setting - in my case the 'defrost' position, which is when the majority of the air flow is diverted to the screen and side quarter lights. I too have minimal airflow from the dash vents. In my case I have had no clicking or buzzing but am pretty sure it's the actuator shown in this video which has failed. The other actuator (behind the glove box) only controls the 2 position flap for 'outside air' or 'recirculated cabin air'. No doubt you had it sorted ages ago but just in case not...

    I just paid 550 for them to fix mine and the part itself was $50, the rest was labor...

    • @WtZuck
      @WtZuck 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      My dealer quoted 850. I even questioned them and sat down in the maintenance manager's office for a bit. She called in a mechanic and they both checked the quote. They kept arriving at the same quote. Their system just allows SO many hours for this job (I think their system had it at 4-5 hours). That's 500-650 in labor right there at least. It's ridiculous.

    Just to be clear that is the mode actuator not the blend actuator. Gets confusing when there are 3 of them and they all look the same and everyone calls all 3 of them blend doors.

    How to repair noisy sound from dashboard near ac ventilation for fiesta/ecosport?

    • @BensCoffeeRants
      @BensCoffeeRants 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      On mine there's an occasional weird electronic buzzing noise that's coming from a vent like thing near the start button on the right side of the steering wheel (on a Left hand Drive Fiesta ST). I believe it's the thermostat for measuring cabin air temperature for temperature control. I just taped it up since it annoys me. IS that what you're talking about?
      Sometimes over bumps there's some weird sounds coming from above the steering wheel area in the dash, like little sea shells rattling around.\
      Lots of squeaks and creeks and weird noises in the car, from all different areas really.
      I don't think there's much you can do about it.

      Yes, mine did. But now it broke again after the warranty, so I would need to either handle it myself or pay for it to get fixed

    Be carefull, amaon and others are suggesting doorman #604-292 as a replacment...IT DOES NOT WORK!! in fact this part has only 2 pins in the connector
    OEM has 5 pins and the internal encoder..😡 i will have to re-check my source for parts oem part # is AE8H-19E616-BC....i guess we have to make sure it fits better than amazon suggestions, make, model, year....
