I remember the Oprah episode! They had his wife on the show and I think they interviewed him while he was in jail. Made him look like such a bad guy. Even as a kid I just couldn’t accept that he was abusive,& I’m so glad that the truth finally came out. I just met Sasha 2 weeks ago at 90s con and he’s just amazingly sweet and so down to earth. He’ll talk to you like he’s known you for years.
That’s cool. I never ever watched Step By Step, I had never even seen an episode of it as a kid in the 90s. I just now started watching clips of it on TH-cam and I can see why it’s not an iconic show like Full House and Family Matters are. Step By Step was just a very bland sitcom
She lied just like Amber heard glad her got custody of his kids. Look at him this brother is in shape God bless his teacher Benny the jet is nice with his skills.
She lied so much, sold it to the tabloids..he went to Tennessee to be with his kids. He is a wonderful guy. I met him too once long time ago. Knowing what I know about martial arts. I never believed it. Didn't add up.
Dana (Staci Keanan) was my crush on this show. Her character was a great grunge era girl; sardonic sense of humor, smart and beautiful. Like a better, more human Daria.
Man, the memories. I watched this show religiously in the 90s and Cody was this amazing blend of wacky and wise. One of my favorite episodes was the one where he stopped an old friend from offing himself to join his deceased wife.
He was a wonderful actor, talented, charismatic. It's a pity that his fate turned out this way, he really had all the qualities to become a star! Talent, beauty, charm, charisma! Thank you very much for the information!👍
Holy crap. That interview with Ric Draisin is crazy because Sasha looks like a total Monsterbeast. I was a big fan and I was doing Kempo at the time that the karate episode aired. I recognized some techniques and I thought it was awesome. He was in Kickboxer 2, 3 and 4. Goofy movies but I thought he was good in them. Edit: after watching this, Sasha just seems like a really nice, sweet man. Maybe he had some problems when he was young and maybe he did some bad things, but when he says he was protecting his kids... It's hard to not believe him.
Sasha had been studying with Benny Urquidez - who’s one of my heroes coming up. So, Sasha is pretty legit… He’s not out doing the hardcore “I’m an actor…” thing. Like getting an acting coach, taking major acting lessons, and doing the reading for parts thing; Sasha doesn’t do that. He’s passionate about building and his children. This is the acting world (Hollywood) but Sasha Mitchell isn’t Hollywood. He’s very blue collar - which is where he comes from.
This is really well done! I was thinking about whatever we happened to Sasha Mitchell and came across this. Excellent investigating skills. It's interesting to see former Step by Step cast making light of his supposed wife beating (so not funny). Glad someone is giving him a different edit. Also weird about Oprah episode! I wonder if steroid use has anything to do with his behavior.
Haha Suzanne Somers said he had some kind of disease. Dude is just a real dude. Real dudes have their ups and downs but remain solid. Great deep dive btw. I just recently dipped into nostalgia I was a pure 90s kid born Dec 89 and it's funny I remembered the later seasons more but Cody the most. I hated JT he reminded me of my cousins but it played well with Cody's character. What's interesting besides the two seasoned stars of the show they really casted every other character that seemed to be close to their real life personalities. I can totally see where Sasha is coming from tho he is not perfect but he is living life his own way and trying his best. I have had it like him a bit too a taste of fame but I am happy with my humble life now doing what I want to do and being that dude in my slice of the world. Peace and I will check your other stuff and try to share this to others this was good!
🤙Dude, i would totally watch a Step By Step reboot with Cody. Yeah, buddy! i still stream Step By Step. But it was stuck in the back of my mind about Sasha Mitchell, you know, like, did he maybe abuse his wife?? But, after listening to this, i don't think he did. Or, whatever he did do, it was in defense of his kids or himself. He was legally allowed to keep his kids and raised them as a single parent. i agree with Christine about the series returning with Codeman as the central comedic character. When the cast reunites at that upcoming comicon or whatever event, i hope they all determine to set a reboot in motion! That would be so cool and mondo awesome! Sh-yeah!
25:20 I still remember seeing that episode of Oprea. As a kid it's heart breaking hearing that one of your favorite actors is a woman abuser. I mean, it's on TV so it has to be true, right? I just left a clip of Sasha Mitchell doing a bar fight scene on Step-by-Step. This video was on the side. I hope this video can bring some closure for me.
I still don't understand the only thing is marriage with that woman. She obviously was much older than him and he was only 22 or 23, and it wasn't kind of 'big love', then why? It's ridiculous😮
Wow you talked about a lot of stuff I never heard before. Other than cast member Christine Lakin, people don't really talk much about Step by Step now. I heard so much about Shannen Doherty on 90210, Suzanne Somers on Three's Company and Lisa Bonet's professional issues with Bill Cosby. Maybe it's because Step by Step was a kids show and wasn't really enjoyed by adults or teenagers when it was first aired: that could by why Sasha's problems weren't considered that interesting. I think this was the first time anyone really devled into what happened with him in the sort of detail you did.
Met him at a 90's con ,He ssems to be a genuine guy real nice and down to earth, just a regular cool guy who works really hard.

Same here
I worked with him in Santa Barbara building elevators. He was the nicest guy. I don't believe any of the bad crap that he went through.
She lied so much, sold it to the tabloids..he went to Tennessee to be with his kids. He is a wonderful guy. I met him too once long time ago. Knowing what I know about martial arts. I never believed it. Didn't add up.

I didn’t like her, she was a b*tch.
Step By Step took a big nosedive after Cody left.
When Patrick Duffy returned to Dallas in 1986, one of his conditions was Loriinar would give him a new show.
He made living in a van look so damn appealing.
I've seen so little of his movie work, mostly Step By Step...but I've just always found him likable.
Whang brought me here but you earned the subscription man, great deep dive on this topic! 👏👏👏
how did whang bring you here?

So, Sasha is pretty legit…

Cody turned into a Beast in his later years. He doesnt need martial arts, he looks like he can pull your head off your body like a grape!

I didn't like what she said about him. I don't think it was right for her to comment like that
🤙Dude, i would totally watch a Step By Step reboot with Cody. Yeah, buddy! i still stream Step By Step. Loved him in Kickboxer. He was Soo cute.

He’s a beast. A good beast.
Best show from the early 90s. Loved it.
Nick Mullen just mentioned watching this video.
41 mins 55 secs into The Adam Friedland Show Podcast - Gavin Matts - Episode 48
He's a big sweet heart met him few times at couple of cons just the nicest guy and completely jacked. Dude is built like a shit brick house
Wait whats the context for the “Screech, the Hanson Brothers and Cody from Step by Step” clip
I confused him with a guy from Karate Kid 3
Nostalgia
