Show came out at the right time, but I can't help but wonder. Ratings probably declined because the family sitcom trend was going down. Rest in Peace to Suzanne Somers. It was great to see her in another show.
Great video. I loved Step By Step, during the TGIF line up back in the day as a kid, it's unfortunate that their are so many sad story's in show business, especially back then.
I got to meet Angela while I was working at Tampa International Airport. She was a great person and really friendly. I was given an autographed photo that I have since misplaced. She is a very beautiful lady.
@aliciasimmons8473 Step By Steps' last episode was about when the family was given a chance to buy a new house, but Lily got upset cause she had gotten used to the old house and didn't wanna move, so the owners of the house who were snobby and had tricked Frank and Carol into signing the lease showed their true colors to Frank and Carol causing them to reject buying the house.
Dana was my favorite character of the kids on Step By Step from her mature demeanor, blunt personality, her fashion, her hairstyles(her cut/bob in 1997 was hot) and of course her relationship with Rich in the later later seasons. She and her stepsister Al’s storylines bought an edge to the show like DJ’s and teenage Steph’s storylines bought an edge to Full House in it’s last season. She and Rich were a nuanced couple and represented how it was perfectly fine that opposites attract. One of the best shows on TGIF.
@@CharlesH-t9r l know Jaleel brought his Urkel character over to Step By Step, but that's not the type of crossover I'm talking about. I'm talking about the Winslows meeting the Lamberts and Fosters.
In 2017, Staci Keanan and Patrick Duffy appeared on Christine Lakin's show, Hollywood Darlings, where they addressed and made fun of the rumors that there hasn't been a Step by Step reunion because Staci and Patrick hate each other.
I used to have such a big crush on the oldest blonde sister in the show. Growing up in the 80s my father was oldest of nine kids so my aunts and uncles weren't that much older than me. Going to my Grandma's house In the 80s and 90s was a amazing time and I remember I loved watching TGIF with my aunts uncles and young cousins. I remember wearing a diaper when I was little and then one day I was driving my own car to my grandmother's house in the mid 90s. Growing up and getting old sucks, everything sucks now and so many important influences matriarchs and patriarchs movers and shakers and bonding together are missing from the families now
Sad to hear about Angela Watson's abusive ex. So many predators looking for the most beautiful women to try to ruin their lives. I'm glad she's better.
Nah, in the real world, predators target those they sense weakness from who will let them do whatever they want. Get mental help for the reason(s) you choose bad relationships, get a self esteem, confidence and walk away the minute he shows his true colors. The signs are ALWAYS there in the beginning. That's how they leave and don't bother with you. They move on to a weak gazelle. Don't stay for 10 yrs and choose taint over your own parents...who she falsely blamed for stealing her money. It was the dude she chose who actually did it.
The witness for Sasha's child abuse charges was the wife who had lost custody for abusing her children and Sasha. That woman ruined her children's lives and also her Ex-husband's.
I think the reason "Step By Step" hasn't received the same kind of nostalgic resurgence in popularity that other TGIF shows like "Full House" and "Boy Meets World" have experienced is not only because it wasn't as good a show, but it tried to be as family friendly as "Family Matters" while also being edgy as "Married . . . With Children". In trying to please everyone, it ended up pleasing no one.
Great analysis! I find myself only looking back at the storyline of Dana/Rich or the storyline of J.T/Samantha and that’s about it. There were no classic or defining moments of the show that were nostalgic to me.
Many people think the show went downhill because Sasha Mitchell was let go from the show, but l think this was just one of the factors. I think the show went downhill when the kids started getting along. The kids fighting and not getting along was the whole focal point of the show, and when they started getting along, it wasn't as funny anymore.
