Dad, why is my sister named Rose? "Because your mother loves roses," Thanks Dad "No problem Chopin Nocturne No. 20, Op. Posth, for classical guitar (arranged and performed by Emre Sabuncuoglu)"
Perfectly put. Other arrangements may sound good too, but nothing really comes close to this one as far as the trueness to the original piece. Brilliant really
i’m sorry but how is this guy now insanely famous?? he’s incredible. I have yet to see someone play most of the repertoire on guitar that he’s done so far. This man has truly mastered the guitar. Keep playing
He does not do concerts. Our guitar society in the San Francisco Bay Area has invited him several times to perform but he has declined. A real loss to all of us guitar lovers!
Ever since enrolling in LA Guitar Academy, my playing has improved leaps and bounds. There's some much more than meets the eye on this piece and with their guidance I was able to fully appreciate this piece and all the little nuances that carries it and making it amazing. The world would have been a different place if you hadn't arranged all these wonderful music to the classical guitar. God bless, and keep them coming.
@mloutris Interesting, now that you mention it I've seen Paulo Martelli doing some quite cool ornamentation too. Any thoughts on what the finger pattern might be? I normally use amip.
The interpretation of Piano pieces on the guitar from Emre are the world's best ever. With every new pieces you take my breath away and serves as the best inspiration to me.
(Emre - thank you. There are no words to explain how you have played Chopin on guitar! Till now I thaught that it was impposible. I would thank you in His language , that is mine to, like His music).
I LOVE this piece so much. I just heard it on guitar for the FIRST time and it was so compelling and beautiful that I asked a very talented guitarist to learn it! Unbelievable! ❤
Master Sabuncuoglu can easily be the best guitar teacher online for all students who do not need to pay huge fees for private lessons with college professors. It costs so much to study in college and less than only 1 out of 10 graduates can make it professionally. All that money and time can be invested wisely for a better instrument etc as well.
I love Classical Guitar since I heard John Williams the guitarists played Bach's Suites. But eversince I heard Dr. Emre played, I love classical guitar even more. Thank you Sir... May God bless you and family.
I say this with all respect. I live not far from green lanes in London UK very dense population of Turkish community and I am very surprised to find a young man from that part of the world stepping out of his own culture and demonstrating the love of music outside of what would be expected for a Turkish man to gravitate towards. This is very courageous. Everything I have heard from this man has been played with ardent fidelity.
Incredible. When I watch things like that, mixed feelings arise: joy, admiration, hopefulness. I think about the duality of the human being, which is capable to commit the greatest atrocities, but also can delight us with extraordinary works of art and creativity. Besides that, it makes me think over my life and my doings. "Am I really good at something?", "What is my contribution to humanity?", "Am I using all my brain's capacity or is it in 'stand by' mode?". As Fernando Pessoa (a portuguese poet) said in a poem: "Ancient sailors had a glorious proverb: 'It is necessary to sail; living is not necessary'. I want for me the soul of this sentence, so that it matches up to what I am: It is not necessary to live; what is necessary is to create (...)". Congrats, Emre! Keep it up!
I listened to another guitarist who played this. He played all the notes but his left hand fingers made a lot of noise. Emre just lets us hear the music.
Wow! I'm completely mind blown. I've listened to many renditions of this beautiful piece on TH-cam before but I don't know why this is only thr first time in seeing this. Certainly won't be my last time. Keep up the work good man
I purchased some of your arrangement and this is the one I am enjoying most. The tabs are beautifully designed and the video helps me to learn practicing them repeatedly. I am awaiting your arrangement on Medication of Thais.
That's my favorite piece in all my life of 50 years. I first heard it played on solo piano when my brother was 9. I was 3-and-a-half at the time. Since then, I've heard it on piano, on piano/violin, and now on guitar. I wonder if it might be possible on harp. ...Or on what else? (Suggestion, anyone?) Besides in concert halls, I've also heard this piece used on two movie soundtracks, different as night and day. One was a movie about a pianist during the Holocaust. The other was about a violinist dating a martial-arts student. That was the last kind of movie I ever expected that piece, (or any classical piece, for that matter) to be used. No offense to those who know what karate movie I'm talking about. I just never imagined those two worlds blending together, be it in-person or in a movie theme. It's true what we used to sing in my first school back in the 1970's: "All things shall perish under the sky. Music alone shall love, never to die."
Emre Sabuncuoglu muchas gracias, es perfecto!!! Nunca escuché a nadie ejecutar la guitarra con tanto amor, delicadeza y precisión como usted. I've played a couple chopin pieces myself on the piano, now play guitar. I wouldn't have even guessed this was possible. That was incredible. And the arrangement!
A very good transcription of Chopin's Nocturne. Everything fits under the fingers and sounds great on guitar. I bought these notes from LAGA Publishing and I highly recommend them :)

Maybe Chopin composed it with guitar. At that times he has no piano because he is poor.

Outrageous. There are many virtuoso classical guitarists but I can't think of anyone that specialises in such faithful arrangements as this guy.
True !
Couldn't agree more to that statement.

@SBGSGuitar He prefers online performance and it is not a loss but another form of a gain for guitar lovers who enjoy it online just as much:)
Best transcription, approach and interpretation that I've heard of. Congrats Emre.
I've heard it in piano and in violin but played on a guitar instantly kill me due to how much emotion you feel just hearing the strings
Impossible. this the most mind blowing piece of music ive ever listened to. and you're playing sir is just out of this universe.
