It gets better, the english dub of Transformers Energon inexplicably switched Cliffjumper and Downshift's names around for most of the series. More often than not, the Wheeljack lookalike would end up being called Cliffjumper despite the toy's name being Downshift. It also seemed as if the two characters randomly switched voice actors from episode to episode. Plus the Japanese version actually called that guy Wheeljack despite being set in the same continuity as Armada Wheeljack (The Sideswipe lookalike), Armada Wheeljack's name there is Rampage so that adds another layer of confusion to the whole thing.
Oh my GOD that is insane I kinda wish I'd known about that ahead of time so I could've included it in the video, but that would make it even MORE confusing than it already is
Ok just so were clear and on the same page so the sideswipe looking wheeljack in armarda is called Rampage in the Original Japanese version Micron Legend?
Funnily enough, Armada Sideswipe was supposed to be named Nightbeat but there was a mixup during production. Had he had the proper name, Armada Wheeljack likely would've been called Sideswipe

Actually Wheeljack was not supposed to look like sideswipe. The head looking like sideswipe was a complete surprised to the hasbro staff and was done solely by takara.
To be honest I think the cards and the figure should have been the other way around. The color scheme for the current "shattered glass slicer" should have been used for the normal Universe slicer and the Armada wheeljack colors should have been used for shattered glass slicer. Cuz now they're changing a pre-existing character.
Ooh, I really like that idea! Having Shattered Glass Slicer being a separate character from Wheeljack that uses the Armada color scheme absolutely rules.
And have shattered glass Wheeljack use that regular universe Slicer color scheme but just call him Wheeljack. I don't know why they gave him the Slicer name when it's supposed to be Wheeljack.
As soon as I saw those cards the other days, I knew things were only going to get MORE confusing than they were since the SG Slicer was revealed. Thank goodness for Toyhax SG symbol stickers (which reminds me, I need to order some for my 2nd SG Magnus/Delta Magnus).
The worst part about Slicer in MtG is that his non-Shattered Glass universe card having Armada Wheeljack's colors is that it's completely unnecessary because another character who was in the recent Shattered Glass line; Flamewar, also has cards, but both her SG and normal cards look the exact same. They created a problem that didn't need to be there.
It actually gets worse... That Energon toy shown at the end couldn't be called Wheeljack because he's a completely different character from Armada who looks like Sideswipe so the TOY of the Energon character who SHOULD be Wheeljack was called Downshift. However in the poorly dubbed cartoon the same character who was suppose to be Wheeljack but renamed Downshift was also renamed in the show to Cliffjumper. The character who was suppose to be Energon Cliffjumper according to the toy line is actually called Downshift in the cartoon. That's right it's basically another situation like Rumble and Frenzy from G1 where the characters have completely different names depending on if you're talking about the toy line or the cartoon series. BTW There's actually a comic where they address the fact that SG Wheeljack has Slicer's colors by essentially making it so they're the same character. SG Wheeljack who is an evil Autobot joined the Decepticons of the main universe where there is already a Wheeljack and rather than having to explain being from a different universe he just changed his faction insignia from SG Autobot to main universe Decepticons and told the Decepticons his name was Slicer. The only other bots who know he's a Wheeljack are actually from the SG universe. It also gets even more confusing when you get to Dark of the Moon and realize that Que was at one point in early drafts of the script going to be a Headmaster which is why Brains looks so much like him with the same sort of hair and his name was going to be Wheeljack. For some reason though even though he was only ever called Que in the final version of the movie fans still insist on calling him Wheeljack despite the fact he looks nothing like the character and was never officially called that anywhere in the movie or toy line. There was also a canceled toy of Que with a more G1 style head that would have been called Wheeljack and the only reason we know it even exists is because Que's instructions show the toy with a different head than the more movie accurate design we actually got which also lead to fans calling him Wheeljack again despite the fact that figure was never officially released and his name was only ever officially listed as Que. Transformers Cyberverse also had an episode were a character using Wheeljack's animation model appeared but doesn't seem to be aligned to any faction, was infected with Cosmic Rust, and never really given a name but seems to be based on Slicer. They bother naming who this character since he shows up just to die. Cosmic Rust spreads like a virus in this series so after he came through the space to Velocitron he basically unknowingly destroys the entire planet. Though confusingly given how fast it spread it's weird that he survived long enough to make it through a Space Bridge in the first place.
@@ironmaster6496 I couldnt find anything about it But there is a Comic where Shattered Glass Wheeljack tricks "Normalverse" Slicer into thinking he is Slicer from a different Universe And also another Comic where Shattered Glass Wheeljack uses Slicer as a code-name or something like that
