Man. As someone who just finished Lost Light, it's been such an amazing journey with the crew. Through thick and thin, through love and war, through flesh and steel.
And this is the final month, IDW is losing its licence to transformers by the end of this year. Feels like I'm witnessing something.
For a second I was like "Why was there a random shot of a whale, a squid, and a shark? And then I realized "Duh, Tidal Wave, Claw Jaw, and Overbite."
This was amazing. Bravo.

Having just started reading MTMTE and Lost Light last year, along with the Wrecker's Trilogy, I find this AMV very satisfying. I love the part with the ghosts of Ratchet, Wheeljack, Ironhide, Kup, Cliffjumper, Elita One, Alpha Trion, Metalhawk, Blurr, Sideswipe, Slug, and the Mistress of Flame all put their hands on Optimus Prime, while the ghosts of Starscream, Soundwave, Dirge, Laserbeak, Ravage, and Terminus put theirs on Megatron; two leaders facing various odds that challenged the best of them.
Other scenes I liked are the scenes with Rodimus and the sparkeater, the scenes with Rewind and Chromedome, Bludgeon with Monstructor behind him, Optimus with Arcee and Soundwave by his side, Soundwave's beginning and end, Onyx Prime/Shockwave, and the scenes with the 'bots on the operating tables. And of course, the Guiding Hand.
This is so incredible, it totally honors the IDW universe and the years it has been going and creating awesome stories. As someone who grew up reading the comics since my childhood, the part at 3:36 eventually brought me to tears, being reminded of all the characters who had been around over the years and died as heroes, and reminded of the love they shared with each other as a family. It's all so beautiful.

Having finally read all the IDW transformer comics and getting all the references. My heart feels happy and sad at the same time. This video is a masterpiece and this is a comic series that will stick with me forever.

Such a fantastic and beautiful tribute to my favourite Transformers continuity and one of the best long-running stories in fiction.

The whole amv is heartbreakingly beautiful. The transition between scenes and characters like the bit with Cyclonus holding the Greatsword then transition to him walking to a comatose Tailgate which then transitions to him protecting Tailgte against gunshots, its absolutely smooth and genius. The song is also an amazing fit for the whole tone of the story. Love this, been re watching so many times, it's just so satisfying.
How this doesn't have more than 100k views astounds me. Great artwork, editing, and overall the end result is spectacular!

This video is brilliant. Sums up the entire first IDW verse so well hitting all the major, poignant moments. I never got into the reboot universe but I am so glad I will be able to revisit the best Transformers media, or at least get an endorphin rush form this perfect tribute.
These comics proved that you don't need Optimus as a The Main Character or the classic Cybertron War in every Transformers story, I love Optimus but I don't understand The hate to Rodimus, this comics we're My childhood (even if they we're edgy) and thanks to them I love Wheeljack, Prowl, Wheelie (yeah, even Wheelie) and I hope the new comics achieve to tell a new story without being a copypage of old stories, I take this video somehow as an ending because it goes right from the start to the finale of one of the greatest stories of The Robots in Disguise.

I found this time ago, when I didnt read MTMTE/Lost light yet. Now I see this and I haven't got words to describe how beautifull is.

I have no clue how I am just now seeing this but I am so very impressed - I expected just MTMTE/LL but it’s literally every aspect of IDW from wreckers to exrid and everything in between. This is literally my favorite AMV ever.
It's funny how most of IDW's interesting plot points (and therefore most of this video) are just from MTMTE. It just goes to show how interesting and well written that series was. The weaker parts came from when it was railroaded by Hasbro to be involved in big events. Even then it didn't take part in the second one, but nevertheless it was affected in the aftermath.
I got thinking about IDW's story overall and most of what i remembered was from MTMTE/LL.
I could barely remember anything from Phase 1 (Though that's cos i started reading from Death Of Optimus but i do have all of Phase 1 ready to read at any time) or most of RID/Optimus Prime, aside from Pyra Magna & Slide moaning about Optimus being a crap leader.
MTMTE was just so much more fun and entertaining, along with establishing a lot of Cybertronian lore and societal behaviours. It showed that these characters were more than robots, they were PEOPLE. It's right there in the title: More Than Meets The Eye.
RID was politics constantly, until that plotline was spun off into Windblade/TAAO (Which i enjoyed tbh. Too bad it was cancelled early cos the writer didn't want to railroad her story, for the crossover event Hasbro were doing that nobody wanted) and OP was just "War sucks and we ended our long war but another war keeps wanting to start up cos dickheads still exist."
I accidentally clicked on a comic dub of Optimums and Megatron’s conversation from TF #22 and decided to check out the comic because 1) that interaction was awesome and 2) my brother. Going from TF #1 to #31, I know there are big pieces in the continuity that I missed, but it was enough for me to fall in love the the characters and for the ending to pack a BIG punch. I felt that Transformers has a world that you can’t create anywhere else. I was ready for the story to end there though, but MTMTE had to hook me back in.
I didn’t read Death of Optimus until I was a few issues in and that plus RID...... I wouldn’t say undermine as much as invalidated the ending of Phase 1, but hey peace is hard and it’ll be interesting to see how the Autobots get through this one. RID wasn’t quite IT for me and I wouldn’t have read it if not for the collision course to Dark Cybertron. I would also not have gone back to RID if not for TAAO, which took all of the enjoyment from seeing Starscream fail - love the character development, wanted a happier ending for him, got disappointed after TAAO. Kinda wish the writer had hanged on to the story so that the relationships and dynamics that emerged in TAAO wouldn’t have been so jarringly backtracked. Somehow the messy spiral to Unicron in all the other comics of this continuity made me not enjoy the ending of Lost Light as I should have. It’s like a lopsided cake and I really wish one side was as good as the other.
I did appreciate where they wanted to take Optimus though. One of the things I disliked about the Prime cartoon was that Optimus becomes an underpowered and docile Orion when the Matrix is gone. IDW is the total opposite of that. Optimus struggles with his identity and responsibility as a leader and icon as well as his war-time mentality in a time of peace. Thunderclash is around to remind people that we don’t want an old school paragon as the main character.
In defense of RID etc., I guess one other reason that MTMTE is shown prevalently here is that you can’t really draw political squabble. That, and MTMTE crafts more impactful relationships which are seen throughout the video as opposed to a desecrated Lost Light or a Luna 2 on a killing spree.

I think this is the 100th time i've replayed this. Well I will say that I am beginning to read the IDW comics. When I first saw this video I didn't know anything that was going on in the video. Characters looked familiar but I didn't know the situation. But reading the comics I know some plot lines. Like Rodimus with the spark eater. Now I hadn't read from the beginning to the end of the war. I kinda skipped because of reasons. But i've stopped at the whole Ultra Magnus drunk. I will still be continuing this.

I bought last lost light volume 2 copy from amazon. I've bought more but it seems like they will never arrive. But watching this for the first time I didn't know what was going on. But as I watch it again and again I'm starting to break through that barrier. This is a story, I was crazy to start at lost light. THIS STORY IS MASSIVE AND SO MANY HAD TO WAIT YEARS FOR IT BECAUSE IT TOOK YEARS. And I'm in awe at how much is going on.

And as of now, I haven’t read everything. I haven’t done Phase 1 and have only read MTMTE, LL, and the Wreckers Saga, but I’m planning to read either RiD, TAAO, or Optimus Prime depending on whichever comes first. That, or I might start at the very beginning with infiltration.
I want a series of anime movies adapting the stories of IDW. Last Stand of the Wreckers at the very least.
