Why it’s always important to translate your product name into other languages! 😂 Chevy learned this when the Nova failed to sell in Mexico where it translated into “No Go.” FANTASTIC VIDEO!! I died laughing when you sighed before saying, “Breast Force.”
And if you take into account the HasLab Star Saber and the recently revealed Galaxy Shuttle in the Speedia 500... I think a new Liokaiser and Deathsaurus is just around the corner (and I really hope that Road Caesar and Landcross are too).
I think Liokaiser would make a great haslab. Especially if they could figure out a way to maintain the fact that the g1 figure didn't need any additional parts to combine beside like the head. Maybe a team of voyagers. Given how well Star Saber did its possible
Another great english name could be “Beast force” to reflect their animal partners. Heck, the normal transformers could turn into animals as well if they go by that name!

Great video as always....I bought the Combiner Wars set a few years ago and just thought he looked cool as hell. Really didn't know his backstory but now it makes sense to me. Keep these videos coming bro...expanding my Transformers knowledge is always a plus.
About time,Deathsaurus' goon squad gets some love...even if some them are sadistic AF. But, slight Deviation, Hasbro authorized Liokaiser to be a 5-bot combiner to keep things even with Computron in Earth Wars....have to wonder if the 6th bot will come back as a gun for Liokaiser? Side note: Here's hoping the Trainbots get a little love. I mean sure they have Masterpiece figures, but nothing for others. Also, for those unfamiliar, these bots, currently called "Destrons" are actually called the"Brestforce" (Deliberately misspelled based on the Anime) Two of the members, "Hellbat" and "Killbison" were renamed to "Fellbat" and "Ironbison Also, said Kill//ronbison is pretty fond of "flipping off" his adversaries
The Breast Force was a force to be reckoned for in Victory. Leo Zack wasn't the typical Starscream copy, he was clever, resourceful and an accomplished fighter. Even going against Star Saber without combining. Kaizer were also the reason [spoilers] Victory Leo exists. And Death Saurus was sometimes reluctant of them because of their skill and power.
I think Megatron would be extremely pleased having Liokaiser in his army, considering his brute strength, cunning, and unlike the other combiners (with a small exception to Predaking since he's always focused on one thing) he doesn't really have a mental handicap and has the ability to turn invisible. I mean I can picture Liokaiser giving Optimus Prime and the Autobots a hard time as if Devastator wasn't bad enough.
Kinda surprised they didn’t just drop to R and call them Beast Force since they have the animal motif robot modes and names. Heck make them a dark parody of sentai teams like the Ginyu force
To me liokaiser was unique, the way they toys had 2 gimmicks, that fact that the combiner was made up of 6 members instead of 5. So far the only new version on the "destrons" thats exactly like the originals was a 3rd party set. With Hasbro/Takara set to finish of Legacy Menasor within the next few months, there are plenty of Combiners for them to tackle now, who knows, maybe liokaiser will get a little love.
I never understood why Hasbro didn't import them and sell them as "Battlemasters" (We already had Head, Power, Target, Brain, God, & Micro). Battlemasters makes sense when it comes to the chest components: +Attack when a Weapon, +Defense when a Plate & Balanced when an animal.
Ah, yes the Breastforce. 😆 I'm currently planning a fanfic which will feature the Breastmasters but I'm going to call them Thoraxicons (thorax is latin for chest and con is so they fit better with the naming convention of other Decepticon combiner teams). The Breast-Animals will simple be reffered to as minicons and their individual names will be Lionbeast, Komoribeast, Bisonbeast, Jaguarbeast, Hornbeast and Hawkbreast (I feel no need to rename Hawkbreast since breast just has a different connotation when its a bird). I'm also giving Lyzack her own minicon named Lynxbeast cause I feel she deserves it.😊 Despite the silly name, I love the Breastforce. Their dynamic was one of the highlights of Transformers Victory.
The Japanese language has always preferred to use the word “breast” when using an English word for chest, and it’s never in reference to female anatomy. They did that because “chest” is very similar in pronunciation to an actual Japanese word, and that would be too confusing for the audience. But people can’t help but immediately associate it with boobs when it comes over here, despite the fact that terms like breastplate are still in our vocabulary. It’s not some crazy terrible word. They didn’t go around calling themselves the “boob patrol.”
As an ESL tutor to Japanese people, this is why I tell my students to NEVER use Japanese English in actual English, to assume that almost all of these terms are incorrect, since, as shown with "breast" instead of "chest", either pronunciation or use are indeed incorrect. There are a few exceptions, like "anime" and "salaryman", but that's coz those terms are a culture unto their own. Though, I don't tell them to not use such in their own language, coz it's fine and ultimately harmless, with the sole exception of "mania", meaning what we would call "geek".
You can defend penchant of the Japanese to use cool-sounding (in their opinion) English words semi-randomly in their media, but no matter how you slice it, "Breastforce" is a silly name. Even if you skip the mammaries connotation, the next most popular one refers to meat cut from poultry. If Hasbro has any serious plans to incorporate Japanese media to Transformers in the west, they need to hire someone talented to rewrite 80% of names so they don't stick out like a sore thumb. The recently announced Velocitron "Galaxy Shuttle" is one of those cases in dire need of a new name.
No one is saying it ISN'T a silly name, but to seemingly treat it as taboo in 2022 is a bit strange. I started to mess with Chris on Patreon a few days ago and tell him his aversion to saying the team name perhaps says more about him than anything since men and birds technically have breasts as well 😅 But your response is far better!
Since they're kinda based off of the idea of knights wearing their crests on their breast plates, I've thought of a few new team names. "Crest Force", "CrestCons", or "CrestFormers" would be better names to me. They should have their "Crest Creatures" back, that double as their weapons & breastplates. And their new combined name should be "Crest King", "Kaiser Crest", or "Lio Crest".
Ahh, that blue and white rescue force car was possibly the final G1(?) transformers toy I ever received and it always bugged me that I never knew its name... and now I finally know, that it was because it never had one..!
Personally a good name for them could be "adaptacons" because their partner figures can form into a chestplate/ detachable shield for added defence, a gun for long range offense, and an anine for scouting.
I feel like a suitable replacement name would be "Blastforce" since someone on Twitter pointed out that in Japanese, it's pronounced basically the same way.
@@Eternal_Sky_Tardis Because they'll just go cheap on it and reuse the same molds or remold them from some other figures like they did with the CW version. I have the TFC version and while it's not perfect, it's the best set out there with each figure being unique.
Just only one thing- how come Nosecone and Drillhorn both are same body styles, form, and shape, transform into alt modes differently, most notably their turret heads?
I feel like you could easily just change you could just change the name to Armor Force or something like that. The breast animals are on their chest like armor boom there you go its like prime armor
I grew up in asia owning Guyhawk and Killbison. and always wanted to complete the team. imagine my face when after I got back to TF hearing that these were super rare!
I wish I had known more about this team for the Liokaiser combiner set. I would have picked it up when it was semi-readily available. Toy shop I usually frequent in StL got in numerous cases of Combiner era toys, but most of them were bought by some guy with Wyoming plates. They were packing him up as I was coming in. I had to joke and point out where I was parked. 😜 I did manage to get a few planes and other Combiners out of that lot, tho. I think I still have several chest pieces from Marshall’s when they were dropping there for $15. Only ever saw one SkyLynx, tho.
I’m seeing a lot of people commenting the seemingly loved fan name of “Armor Masters,” so I figure I’d take a crack at an alternate name. I saw the team deployed their companions as ranged laser weapons as well, and they still had the broad shaping as per the design of the toys in chest plate or animal form. I could see them redesigned so that the companions bots could be used in chest plate mode as a handheld shield, say, to accompany an energy saber. Ergo, how about “Shieldmasters?”
Getting a legacy breastforce pack would honestly be so funny and cool I would get it in a heart beat. He a character that I would love to see released either in the Mainline or part of Haslab with incredible articulation and other goodies
I have the theory that the constant bond that they had with their animal partners is what allowed them to combine into the mentally stable and intelligent Liokaiser.
If they ever merge the characters with modern transformers media, the "Chestforce" for lack of a solid name at this point, could come from the same colony planet as all those Animal themed Decepticons that still turned into Vehicles from RiD, the ones who were held on the prison ship Alcamor. That is one way they could explain the oddness of those Animal Decepticons from that series and leave the door open for such a concept if any future TF writers wanted to use it and bring back any of the RiD Alcamor Prisoners as-is rather than having to re-design them to fit. Steeljaw and Thunderhoof are probably enjoyed exactly as they are, so fans of the characters would probably dislike their designs being changed. I know I got off topic there but the out-of-placeness of the RiD Animal Decepticons always bugged me, so I always wanted to give them a proper explanation on why they are like that, and the Breast Force really fit the bill, given that they are Animal themed Decepticons who still oddly turn into vehicles.
I’ve added arms microns and some battle masters to my combiner wars look wiser members; I feel like if you add some bits to the limbs the members can look pretty good but I hate the torso; I so wish the had retooled combiner wars starscream into leozak!
I remember hearing about these guys when the internet first started to be big. I thought the name was a joke, but I found the characters (and the concept) very interesting. I'm glad they are making some headway into the West, but agree the name needs work.
Love Chris’ unfortunate sigh as he had to say the word “Breastforce,” as if he’s like “Ugh, people are gonna make jokes in the comments non-stop about this…”
LioKsiser is hands down one of my favorite Combiners. I'd love to see more encounters with them and other combiners like Superion, Bruticus etc. Also, Im one of the few that actually liked the CW toy, but if Hasbro/TT actually developed alternate deluxe versions of Leozack and Jagullar to form the body, and the limbs would still work, I'd definitely get them.
I love these guys. Thought it was cool that Leozack was the Starscream to Deathsaurus' Megatron, but Hellbat wound up being the biggest meddler of them all. They were all a bunch of backstabbers.
The only thing I can come up with a better name for the Liokaiser combiner team is that of the "Armorcons" and that their combiner name "Liokaiser" should be named "Goliath". I think it suits the name for the combiner team as a whole.
Okay, if that name is a no go, how about Beastforce? It's one letter away. It still describes their gimmick perfectly. And it doesn't make you think about jabbos.
Chris: “…back to the Japanese side of the world of the Transformers.” Me: “Ah, so this will either be surprisingly awesome, or translation and culture will make it hilariously cringey.” And boy howdy, this episode did not disappoint on either count.
well if they're gonna be renamed I'd like to propose calling them the "Anicons" they're all named after animals, they're Decepticons, (also they're not the Predicons) so Anicons or if that's off the table then how about the "Armorcons", due to them using their mini bots as armour
I'd like to see a basics on "Deaths Head" for Halloween, he's one character that can tie Marvel , Doctor Who and Transformers together into a sort of multiverse . Plus he's got a face that screams "Halloween "
I remember watching the anime. Hellbat was my favorite. He was a funny character. There were times when I felt sorry for him because the situation just didn't go his way.
The westernized "Chestforce" name is fine, but there were other various names such as the "Rack Pack" or maybe "Bosom Buddies" for example!!! Did you noticed that the seventh member and Hellbat's replacement Deathcobra resembles Serpentor, which he was Cobra Commander's replacement as well as the new leader of Cobra!!!
Considering the animal theme surrounding them, a western rebrand could just be called the Beast Force. I mean. It's extremely close to the original name and still fits their theme.

Why it’s always important to translate your product name into other languages! 😂 Chevy learned this when the Nova failed to sell in Mexico where it translated into “No Go.”
FANTASTIC VIDEO!! I died laughing when you sighed before saying, “Breast Force.”
The name Breastforce isn’t so bad. Imagine if their weapons/animals were made from their crotch plates instead.
The Johnson force
The Baby maker Force.
Prickticons
Thrustmaster Force 6000
Maybe but the censors might not think so
Just gonna go ahead and say it. Thank you for keeping us ABreast of the situation.
"So this charcter Death Cobra, he turns into a helicopter. Any guess to what helicopter?"
"The AH-"
"That's right! The Mi-24 Hind!"
given that we are getting a six man combiner team from the Dinobots in Legacy Evolution, we could see an new iteration of Liokaiser in the future.
I can imagine that's the first thing hasbro thought of, but I reckon they didn't go with it because of power rangers.
I've always preferred the fan name, "Armor Masters". That way you can call attention to the team's main gimmick and pay homage to all the "-Master" sub-types of Transformers that were coming out at the time they were first introduced. It even works because each member had a smaller partner that becomes a part of them, just like Head-, Target- and Powermasters did.
you would have thought somebody at the marketing department would have thought maybe armour force be a more appropriate name
There is a set of unofficial toys from Iron Factory for Lio Kaiser that's really cool and perhaps worth mentioning here.
I'm pretty sure Chris doesn't consider third-party Transformers toys to be worth mentioning in almost all of his videos.
But, slight Deviation, Hasbro authorized
Liokaiser to be a 5-bot combiner to keep
things even with Computron in Earth
Wars....have to wonder if the 6th bot will
come back as a gun for Liokaiser?
Side note: Here's hoping the Trainbots
get a little love. I mean sure they have
Masterpiece figures, but nothing for others.
Also, for those unfamiliar, these bots,
currently called "Destrons" are actually
called the"Brestforce" (Deliberately
misspelled based on the Anime)
Two of the members, "Hellbat" and
"Killbison" were renamed to "Fellbat" and
"Ironbison
Also, said Kill//ronbison is pretty fond of
"flipping off" his adversaries
I like how they gave a 10,000 ton robot invisibility like nobody was going to notice his footsteps or something
Kinda surprised they didn’t just drop to R and call them Beast Force since they have the animal motif robot modes and names. Heck make them a dark parody of sentai teams like the Ginyu force
Those Japanese really had some funny names to call their characters
Classic Saturday vibes. Watching the latest basics episode followed by a new jobby review.
Life’s good.
Additionally: the (sigh) Breastforce also inspired Soundwave's way to deploy Laserbeak in Transformers: Prime.
I'm currently planning a fanfic which will feature the Breastmasters but I'm going to call them Thoraxicons (thorax is latin for chest and con is so they fit better with the naming convention of other Decepticon combiner teams). I'm also giving Lyzack her own minicon named Lynxbeast cause I feel she deserves it.😊
Despite the silly name, I love the Breastforce. Their dynamic was one of the highlights of Transformers Victory.
What the hell i recently got the rescue crane figure at a flea market! I never knew it was a recolored part of liokaiser that's so cool!
They didn't, but now that you've said this I shall never refer to them as anything other than the Boob Patrol
Breastplate..... Wow u have a point there
No one is saying it ISN'T a silly name, but to seemingly treat it as taboo in 2022 is a bit strange. I started to mess with Chris on Patreon a few days ago and tell him his aversion to saying the team name perhaps says more about him than anything since men and birds technically have breasts as well 😅 But your response is far better!
3:52 For anyone wondering, the helicopter is a Mil Mi-24 "Hind" from the USSR.
A Hind-D?
An mi 24 hind assault helicopter.
Never mind the odd repaint, I’d give someone else’s left arm for a Siege-level line of Victory toys (throw in Dai Atlas, Grandus, and Sky Garry too)…
Since they're kinda based off of the idea of knights wearing their crests on their breast plates, I've thought of a few new team names.
I do often wonder what Liokaiser would look like if Hellbat was replaced with Deathcobra and if Liokaiser got a new ability.
Wonder no more! Look up iron factories deathcobra figure :D
Ribforce might be a good name. It's still named after the same general area while being a bit morbid, which is fitting for an evil team.
I feel like a suitable replacement name would be "Blastforce" since someone on Twitter pointed out that in Japanese, it's pronounced basically the same way.
I like "Ultracon" as a new moniker for this group.
Ayyy that’s one way to call back Ratbat’s old group
It's even got a bat themed fella in the group too.
Even “Chest Force” would have sounded better
Edit: Oh and they did lol
But a better name I can think of is the “Lio Force” or “Kaiser Squad.”
I love how Liokaiser is designed and I hope that he's the next Haslab project
I hope not, because if Liokaiser is a HasLab exclusive, that will mean a lot of people (including me, yes) won't be able to get it.
@@svartmetallyst7712 sucks to be you lol
@@svartmetallyst7712
IKR! Why does everyone want Liokaiser in Haslab??? Just put him in the mainline like Menasor
@@Eternal_Sky_Tardis Because they'll just go cheap on it and reuse the same molds or remold them from some other figures like they did with the CW version. I have the TFC version and while it's not perfect, it's the best set out there with each figure being unique.
I have been waiting for this for so long thank you so much for making this! 😊
I kept misreading their name as 'Beastforce' instead but that could unironically work as a new name as well (considering their whole animal theme) lol
I did manage to get a few planes and other Combiners out of that lot, tho.
Thank you so much for covering my favorite combiner
I need to get this off my chest. I'm glad this video came out.
I have the theory that the constant bond that they had with their animal partners is what allowed them to combine into the mentally stable and intelligent Liokaiser.
Yeah, makes sense, like Piranhacon and Predaking used similar mechanics to stay sane
We deserve an official Deathcobra Figure!
With Victory Saber getting so much attention recently...
Deathcobra will be an excellent choice due to the release of siege Spinister.
This should be in your obscure caricter month Playlist
Idk how it took me this long, but i only just learned he was a decepticon
I'm gonna include these Decepticons with a new team name and some new names for the characters, along with new roles in my Transformers fanfiction.
I’ve added arms microns and some battle masters to my combiner wars look wiser members; I feel like if you add some bits to the limbs the members can look pretty good but I hate the torso; I so wish the had retooled combiner wars starscream into leozak!
Timelines Seprpent O.R. (based on the GI Joe character) could do a good stand-in for Deathcobra, especially the IDW version.
I remember hearing about these guys when the internet first started to be big. I thought the name was a joke, but I found the characters (and the concept) very interesting. I'm glad they are making some headway into the West, but agree the name needs work.
Hi Chris. I would love to see an Basics on Autobot Nightbeat at one Time. He is one of my Favourite Transformers.
Given the success of the Victory Saber Haslab, I've been hoping Liokaiser would be the next one up. Probably wishful thinking, I know.
Never know! They're doing some interesting stuff these days, we might see something
That, or maybe a Titian class in legacy evolution, with Tidal Wave being a Haslab
How about “Deployers”? Because they deploy minicons same as Prime Soundwave?
I love these guys. Thought it was cool that Leozack was the Starscream to Deathsaurus' Megatron, but Hellbat wound up being the biggest meddler of them all. They were all a bunch of backstabbers.
The only thing I can come up with a better name for the Liokaiser combiner team is that of the "Armorcons" and that their combiner name "Liokaiser" should be named "Goliath". I think it suits the name for the combiner team as a whole.
Liokaiser is a badass name and doesn’t need to be changed
@@Cdr2002 perhaps you're right.
Okay, if that name is a no go, how about Beastforce? It's one letter away. It still describes their gimmick perfectly. And it doesn't make you think about jabbos.
As always, Chris, good job keeping us abreast of Transformers history and lore.
I, uh...I see whatcha did there...
So cool, I still need to get the Victory DVD collection to truly enjoy these characters!
Guyhawk is like Vamp from MGS2 and 4
He shoots ice knifes like Vamp.
Maybe a more descriptive name's needed. The Tactically Intensified Terror Force? The Beast / Offensive Ordnance Blaster Force?
I think a good alternative name for the group could be "The Six Pack" in reference to their number, animal partners, and chest motif
Chris: “…back to the Japanese side of the world of the Transformers.”
Me: “Ah, so this will either be surprisingly awesome, or translation and culture will make it hilariously cringey.”
And boy howdy, this episode did not disappoint on either count.
Transformers Victory is awesome and always deserves more appreciation!
@@GinraiPrime666 Agreed!
Why we don't just called this team beastforce ? Also take a drink everytime chris say breast in this video
It's too early to be this drunk
well if they're gonna be renamed I'd like to propose calling them the "Anicons"
they're all named after animals, they're Decepticons, (also they're not the Predicons) so Anicons
or if that's off the table then how about the "Armorcons", due to them using their mini bots as armour
I hope for Halloween, The Basics covers an appropriately creepy bot, like Mindwipe or Tarantulas.
I'd like to see a basics on "Deaths Head" for Halloween, he's one character that can tie Marvel , Doctor Who and Transformers together into a sort of multiverse . Plus he's got a face that screams "Halloween "
Tarantulas would be good
I remember watching the anime.
Great vid! I’d love to see one of these for Override, she was one of my favourite characters in Transformers Cybertron
Should just be called the Crest force, for modern times and broader audience
0:28 I don’t think I’ve ever heard chris be as despondent about saying something as this.
Nice video about characters I've never heard before. But I kind of wish the next video would be about an Autobot again.
I thought the next combiner was going to
Menasor because breakdown was announced recently however, I really liked this episode
