Came back to this to refresh my memory on Argus while collecting the weapon appearances and other achievements. All the speculations and whispers have such a different meaning now at the end of BFA and with Shadowlands looming in as well as with the most recent book Shadows rising. "Death claims us all" weights so much differently now.
Sisters were worried what Sylvanas has become... Imagine how Sylvanas will react when she hears one of the sisters has become the warrior of the void... :D
Thanks Nobbel, I don't have the time to play WOW anymore, but having this in a long movie format allows us to still share in the lore and experience the game as if we were still playing!
What if we defeat the burning legion and it turns out that we can't defeat Void Lords? Ooh that would be a spicy plot twist and than we have to resurrect Sargeras and convince him to save us.
Many many times I have tried to devour this huge piece that I call "World of Warcraft Lore". In my last attempt, I forced the piece in mouth and tried to swallow it down my throat. When the piece was halfway my throat, it got stuck! I could not breath and when I was out of air, I fell of my desk chair on the floor next to my desk! Desperately I reached out to my desk and with the last bit of strength I had left in my body I tried to pull myself up. My head was so red, I started to look like Kil'jaeden, and when I pulled myself up high enough, I coughed the piece out on my desk. Dude, it is amazing how you can swallow the Lore like it is no biggy. You have my respect!
Wish I was such a positive human being like you are, well done sir! Been following your content for years without saying anything :) By the way, maybe think about adding subtitles , so we can watch this without audio/low volume
I'm still confused by everyone calling Illidan a dick from the first cinematic. Frankly, if Illidan hadn't baited Velen, would the Prophet have made the call for us to stand our ground? My money would be on him running back to Azeroth.
Maybe, that doesn’t make him not a dick. It just means he had an ulterior motive. I was glad to see him being annoying though, it’s more like how he was in WCIII.
From what I followed of the story through videos... it reaks of Blizzard doing they're bullshit "bigger evil" schtick. For example... Illidan: "Oh haha, look at this biblethumping goat who follows his light. Forge your own path, nihilism, haha." This is what Velen should've said. Velen: "Aren't you the guy who massacred entire populations, enslaved devolved versions of my kin, committed acts of terror on both the Alliance and Horde, all in the name of ultimate power yet your still as clueless as the rest of us? Oh but keep rattling on because the fucking authors like you and I can't actually make these poignant statements on how all of us are clueless as to whether or not either man's philosophy pulls through in the end. You keep being an edgelord and watch those Rick and Morty shows because of your high IQ." This is what Velen actually did. Silence and then slightly nod because Chris Metzen can't write himself out of this burning hole of a story.
it wasn't in the name of Ultimate power though, it was building an army to attack Argus once they got the key-stone. He simply got paranoid after realizing Kael'thas was betraying him and started keeping Akama at arms length due to realizing he was hiding something (Maieve) but not sure exactly what, who took it the wrong way and started working actively against him as well which made it seem like his fear of betrayal by him and the broken was correct, and did the soul-binding and harsher treatment of the broken in response. The whole time with Kael'thas deliberately spreading chaos around Outland in Illidan's name to drive him away from any potential allies.
That first interaction between illidan and velen was awesome but got so much more powerful and meaningful the further the story went. Seeing it again when we get near the end, the bastard was right. The blindness towards the light, being perfect and 'good', becomes so apparant. In the end, neither the void or the light are acceptable for our standards. They are the same thing. They both want to eradicate eachother, no matter the cost. We as players, always lived in a 'universe' in some sort of balance between both of them. With the option, the moral choices, to make between them. Sometimes dark, sometimes light. We eventually get caught up in a battle far greater than us, in which, in my opinion, neither should win. We are the harmony between both. Not perfect, but functional. Xe'ra is obsesssed with a totality of light, forcing others against their will, which in the end is no different than what the void is trying to do with complete consumption towards the void. Currently, I can understand the way sargeras thinks. If there is no life, they cannot be corrupted by the void, or forced to be subject to the light.
And if the Light is truly our foe, then it's going to be a HUGE identity crisis for Azeroth's paladins and priests. After all, these two classes call on the Light more than any other. (Well, Discipline priests believe more in balance, and Shadow priests don't use the Light at all, but that's moot.) So, the question becomes: What happens when the source of your power becomes your enemy?
Zulamun it's mostly blizzard changes the lore, the light was not supposed to be bad, it never sought to consume the world, it just tried to stop the void from doing so. But recently blizzard decided to change it to star wars light and darkness thing. If you think about it much of the new content makes no freaking sense especially Xera, she had her children help us kill illidan and then she had us ressurect him, why? Bruce blizzard was going nowhere near this direction at during the burning crusade. They are really fucking up the lore.
Remember the audio drama: "Alleria began to see visions. Terrible, terrible visions. She saw the Light moving through the cosmos like a ravenous predator. She saw it touch the minds of Azeroth's mortals-a touch that corrupted them forever. She saw generations live and die in invisible chains, bound to a force that granted them fleeting moments of peace in exchange for absolute obedience. She saw war. She saw the forces of the Light striking back against the Void. She saw darkened worlds burning in holy fire. She saw millions of creatures encased in luminous crystals the size of mountains, sustained by the Light and unable to die. Warriors of the Light were monsters, corrupting and consuming everything they touched. On and on and on it went, until she could not even comprehend it all. "Lies," she whispered. "These are all lies." "Sear that into your heart," the Locus-Walker said. "Know that, and never forget it." "I do not... What…?" The Locus-Walker kept her firmly afloat. "You have known the Shadow as nothing but horrors. The Shadow sees the Light in the same way. Neither viewpoint is true. Neither is wrong." The roar of the Void nearly drowned him out. The masters of the Void were clawing at her mind. She barely fought them off. "The Light seeks one path and shuns all others as lies. The Shadow seeks every possible path and sees them all as truth."
Actually According to The Chronicle, both Light and Void was just two different (fundamental) energy of the cosmos, that created the physical universe where the two energies collided. Naaru and Void Lords/Gods is described and being created in Pure Light/Void energy, but as far as I know neither the energy "light" nor "void" have any will. They are just energies. Naaru and Void Lord are just the extreme of these with a extreme ideology of how thing should be. Unlike Shaman that essentially ask the Elementals to "lend" them the power of the element (also an energy), Paladin/Shadow Priest do not loan any of their source of power from Naaru or Void Lords but take the power itself from its source, just like Arcane energy.
Finally caught up with this video, hot damn what a story. Love your videos man, those extra touches like the pimp my ride music really add some cool flavour to it. Kind of disappointed the next expansion won't delve into the void immediatly, but who knows what'll happen. Anyway thanks for the story man, I don't really play anymore, but this way I still get to experience the great lore.
40:00 I believe the thing you're confused about is the difference between the demons dying in the Nether and dying in the Great dark. Any demon slain in the Great Dark will return to the Nether Unharmed, but the Army of Light, who has been slaying the demons repeatedly in the Nether where they should be able to die like any other Pleb, have been rezzed by the Titan Argus instead.
As cool as it sounds, I highly doubt we'd ever get Naga or Murloc classses. Ethereal sounds like it could be a thing though, especially if we get deeper into void-territory, just like we got demon hunters to help us fight the demons we could get Ethereals to eventually help us fight the void lords.
Watching this with dragonflight out, so many things make sense and wow so many easter eggs just dropping and showing the future to now. Makes you wonder if they had this planned even 5 years ago
Did nobbel just manage to make "pulling another WoD" to sound good ????? !! Da fuck!! YOU ARE TRUELY A WONDER NOBBEL, THAT IS SOME FIRST CLASS MIND FUCKERY!
I never missed any of your videos (except for your gameplay videos with FuryW) It's kinda funny when you re-use a footage and you know where that footage originally came from xD

Reflecting back, I think that pamphlet that was talking about the one who was dreaming of infinite beginnings and ends would probably be the Titan Soul Argus. He was called Argus The Unmaker.
During the quest with Magni to hear Azeroth vision you can see a clear circle of stars at the platform at the end, much like the quest in Halls Of Stone from WoTLK. apperently the buttom of that circle is the core of the planet, Azeroth herself. which mean that if the whispers of Il'gynoth speak of drowning yourself in a circle of stars it means to get to the soul of Azeroth herself... what do you think?
OH my gods, when you asked how he got the essence from the heart that Wrathion ate, i had visions of stealthed minions following the dragon prince around with pooper scoopers to some of the pieces. I should know better than to watch this while under the influence of nyquil. Thank you for making this video it's not only given me a greater understanding of the lore it's kept me entertained while dealing with the flu.
Note to self: don’t listen to Nobbel on headset at work. I snorted laughing at “her Illi-Willie”! I got looks like I was crazy. But I’m still going to continue to listen anyway! Love Nobbel!
2:06:36 We're 2024 now and you just predicted the next set expansions with the bad guys, involved characters and even Allied Races hahaha😎Bad ass predictions, Nobble!
Watching this back now the dialogue from varimathras clearly is pointing towards sylvannis and the shattered mask being that of the helm of domination.
I have it! Nobbel, what if the sacrifice that WE will be forced to give (greater than Illadan's own) will be for ALL players to sacrifice themselves, and the world, to see Azeroth born as a Titan. Then Azeroth rebuilds the cosmos, and enter WORLD OF WARCRAFT 2!
Yeah they looked like regular Draenei I’m pretty sure That Armor Kil’jaeden is wearing is in the game you could easily make a Draenei look just like him not sure about Archimonde though.
illidan has a point who stands by and watches ur whole race destryoyed well done illidan staormrage i say mind in saying that im biased been a fan of his for ages
Hey, I was watching your video to catch up on the butchering of the lore (haven't played since December, I think), as I did in the past. Good stuff. I don't know if this has been said already, but since I'm at 18:46 and you're asking yourself what might be the reason for Arator's existence... Well, the prophecy spoke of a child of light and dark. As I read Turalyon's and Alleria's update "lore" (quote on quote since the lore since late Warlords looks like utter shit and bad retcons to me) I instantly thought of him. I expected them to pull Arator out of somewhere near the end, to plot twist him as the real demon ender of the prophecy instead of Illidan the Retconner. Seeing him transported to Argus in this video kind of "confirmed it" to me, maybe you noticed it too (it's a 2 hours video and I've only seen 20 minutes so far) but I thought it was worth pointing out as I don't see comments about it. [edit] Reaching the end of the video I understand why it's not mentioned, I didn't expect the end of the legion to be out already. Yet Sargeras is just imprisoned, and the demons are very much alive. I dunno anymore, it's such a mess overall I wonder why I still care.
I just thought of that cutscene with Illidan and Xe'ra. Imagine if Illidan had simply accepted her offer and allowed himself to become the Light's champion. It'd have been framed as a moment of beautiful, long-deserved redemption, and we would be entirely unaware that Xe'ra didn't care for Illidan's, or possibly any of her other followers', actual consent in her prophecy.
My idea of sub- races: Human- Kul Tiran. The humans of Kul Tiras could have unique hairstyles, facial features and maybe sailor tattoos and eye patches. They are a seafaring people after all. Dwarf- Wildhammer/Dark Iron. With the Wildhammers now officially part of the Alliance and Moira's Dark Irons on our side, it's about time they became playable. Night Elf- Nightborne (Horde). With the similarities with the blood elves and the mistrust from Tyrande, the nightborne could easily join the Horde. Gnome- Leper Gnome. Since the liberation of Gnomeregan, I'd imagine the gnomes have invented a cure for the leper gnomes' insanity. Draenei- Krokul (Broken). Farseer Nobundo leads a tribe of broken loyal to the Exodar. Orc- Mag'har/Blackrock. The reopening of the Dark Portal brought the Mag'har of Nagrand to the Horde and a few Blackrock orcs still live with the Horde, mainly Saurfang and Eitrigg. Undead- Undead Elf. Some of the Forsaken, mainly Sylvanas and her dark rangers were once elves. Tauren- Highmountain Tauren. Mayla Highmountain could easily send some representatives to her distant relatives in Mulgore. Troll- Forest Troll. Although the Amani Empire abandoned the Horde after the Second War, the Revantusk Tribe remains loyal, to this day. Blood Elf- High Elf (Alliance). The few remaining high elves are still very much with the Alliance.
1: Please don't kill Anduin lol, he's not even 18 yet 2: Where's Wrathion!? Considering that he foresaw the Legion's return... The Developers also said they were planning something for him and that he'll return, but Legion's pretty much ended... 3: Haha, that Podling made my day!
Was interesting to listen too, especially since i wasn't playing and missed out on a lot of this. Though, now that we are where we're at going into shadowlands in a couple weeks, I have to ask how you feel about your ideas of sylvanas now after everything that's happened. Knowing what I know now, i feel like you came pretty close to hitting the nail on the head.
Illidan has Fel in his blood, but the Naruu are strong beings & yet Illidan is stronger than the Naruu? He was the phrosied one??? This makes no sense.
Knowing that Mac'Aree was an entire zone in the lore named after Jesse McCree, the Blizzard employee that got fired for being part of the sexual harassment scandal that broke out, makes this hilarious.
genuine theory crafting here. but the prime naaru called illidan the chosen one. is it possible that she knew he would not only fight back and deny her, but also let him do so on purpose? naaru arent usually percieved as a dominating being before now. they merely are creatures that guide your path giving you glympses of what you can be or become if you choose a certain path. glympse of the future. for a naaru to out right reach out and force their choices on someone feels a bit out of character. its almost like she needed this to happen. like a test of illidans will to remain in control of his destiny. also naaru are some super strong beings... i feel like it would pretty damned hard for illidan to just kill the prime naaru that easily. and that she let him do it to prove his chosen status. also if the prime naaru has a fallen status is it possible for the fallen state to hide its true form and cloak itself behind its original healthy state? just a thought. what if the army of the light was taking orders and aid from a fallen naaru itself. the only way for the naaru to regain its light would be to either have a being strong enough in the light to cleanse it of all of its darkness like the dark star, or... be put out of its misery... what if she just used illidan as a way to save herself from becoming fully corrupted...
I played Legion, but I stopped like right before the Argus patch. I kind of want to play another month or two, is it worth going through the Argus content or am I too far behind? Have a few 110s already, just never really did much end game content...
Holy fuck. Blizzard's story department team is insanely talented. How they're able to tie all the different gigantic stories they've created together. Thanks for being here to explain them all to us Nobbel :D
When I fought Talgath I had meatball as my bodyguard, he has an ability where he channels a 3-second cast on a mob, after which the mob instantly dies and leaves behind a pile of blood, bones and gore. This happened........having a RP scene with a pile of gore talking is odd...it gets even odder when that gore slides around the floor to get into position for velen to 'kill' it
What me wonders in the end of Questline for Anduin He said Many Heros have fallen like Bolvar and his Father... but he is not Dead... I wonder how the futher is looking when they meet agian, Bolvar the ruler of the Dead and Anduin as a new Might of the Light.
Im pretty sure that at least one shadow priest went through the quest and (using his or her friendly talking knife) could have easily saved the dark naru (we have done it before after all) with OUT killing her...
At first i expected the new ship to be like the size of a fucking protoss carrier considering we talking about a space faring civilization...we got a stone chunk instead to slingshot it nearby :
Came back to this to refresh my memory on Argus while collecting the weapon appearances and other achievements. Illidan's expressions in these cinematics are just great
Also props to the Podling hero, he will ride a Voidlord's back to victory.
1:04:30 "You were my brother Kil'Jaeden ! You were supposed to fight darkness not join it !"
You underestimate *HIS* power!
”Crooked serpents with dreams of infinite beginnings and endings that lives in the everywhere and nowhere”
Infinite Dragonflight.
03:26 Arator:"then, my parents can finally ret..." *FELLOW DRAENEI!*
43:06 When you see your custom character in a cutscene.
I should be studying. Let me watch the last Nobbel video before starting it...
*2 hours latter* ops, but totaly worth it

Can you imagine 200 ppl in the room clapping as you tell a story!

christ that thumbnail of Velen is terrifying!
He looks like he's on drugs
your the very best at putting all the wow lore together for these great videos

1:28:19 gave me a sensible chuckle as well x)
Love the channel keep it up can’t get enough by far best channel
Watching this with dragonflight out, so many things make sense and wow so many easter eggs just dropping and showing the future to now. Makes you wonder if they had this planned even 5 years ago
This kinds of videos really help with the progression i make when questing
Nobbel, please stop trying to kill my Stormwind Wife Anduin. I know he isn't Varian, but he is the love of my life.
I've played a ton of SC2 so when Turalyon speaks, all I hear is Karax lol
Did nobbel just manage to make "pulling another WoD" to sound good ????? !! Da fuck!! YOU ARE TRUELY A WONDER NOBBEL, THAT IS SOME FIRST CLASS MIND FUCKERY!
I was watching the Illidan cutscene with a frew guildies, and one of them shouted out "Fuck you Lamp" over discord... we died.
that last speculation about Sylvanas was chilling.
I never missed any of your videos (except for your gameplay videos with FuryW)
It's kinda funny when you re-use a footage and you know where that footage originally came from xD
And here's my bed-time story. Have a good one, Nobbel! :D
Ravenmourne seriously my First thought, No one helps me better with my sleep and my lore 🐙💪

Cool that Archimonde is using the Apostle of Argus in that memory, he dropped that staff in Mount Hyjal during BC
Reflecting back, I think that pamphlet that was talking about the one who was dreaming of infinite beginnings and ends would probably be the Titan Soul Argus. He was called Argus The Unmaker.

I just realized Velen is the only Draenei who has pupils

OH my gods, when you asked how he got the essence from the heart that Wrathion ate, i had visions of stealthed minions following the dragon prince around with pooper scoopers to some of the pieces. I should know better than to watch this while under the influence of nyquil. Thank you for making this video it's not only given me a greater understanding of the lore it's kept me entertained while dealing with the flu.
Ya flying is a no go. QnA confirmed this. They said the way the 3 zones are set up flying would not be a thing. Ion said this in last qna.
Also sub classes would work. Great lore but when it comes to that stuff not so so.
Damn.. Now I wanna to stop leveling my paladin and start with spriest.. Thanks, Nobbel.. :D
Note to self: don’t listen to Nobbel on headset at work. I snorted laughing at “her Illi-Willie”! I got looks like I was crazy. But I’m still going to continue to listen anyway! Love Nobbel!
I never fail to laugh watching the closed captions in these videos
loved your videos as all times :D
2:06:36 We're 2024 now and you just predicted the next set expansions with the bad guys, involved characters and even Allied Races hahaha😎Bad ass predictions, Nobble!
Beautiful like always.
Legend has it that those crystals eventually got Tony Stark killed.
1:27:55 The Pimp my Ride cracked me up pretty badly 10/10 xD
Watching this back now the dialogue from varimathras clearly is pointing towards sylvannis and the shattered mask being that of the helm of domination.
I have it! Nobbel, what if the sacrifice that WE will be forced to give (greater than Illadan's own) will be for ALL players to sacrifice themselves, and the world, to see Azeroth born as a Titan. Then Azeroth rebuilds the cosmos, and enter WORLD OF WARCRAFT 2!
You mister Nobbel are my personal hero :D
Omg. Finally get to see Kil'jaden and Archemond[sp?] before they were tainted.
Yeah they looked like regular Draenei I’m pretty sure That Armor Kil’jaeden is wearing is in the game you could easily make a Draenei look just like him not sure about Archimonde though.
*Hasn't played in months because of college*
I'm so behind on the lore
*See's a 2 hour Nobbel video on it*
FUCK YEAH!
At work, can hear this all day....
DID EVERYONE REALLY MISS BOTH ANDUIN AND SYLVANAS SMIRKING AT EACH OTHER DURING THE CINEMATIC, THEY ARE BOTH WORKING FOR THE OLD GODS probably
45:24 always loved that music pieces so heroic for us Draenei. Why since BC I stock with my Draenei most badass race in the Alliance!!!!
I have to say the Night Elves/Naga are the most iconic race in Wow
This whole light/dark space travel arc...at what point do we start getting light sabers and blasters?
There are already lightsabers! My Gnome Warrior got one as a quest reward xD
illidan has a point who stands by and watches ur whole race destryoyed well done illidan staormrage i say mind in saying that im biased been a fan of his for ages
It’s possible Velens son is still alive he was killed on Azeroth and some eredar become so demonic that they become immortal
thanks nobbel, i didn't know about that jaraxxus song... LOL
Great video!
[edit]
Reaching the end of the video I understand why it's not mentioned, I didn't expect the end of the legion to be out already. Yet Sargeras is just imprisoned, and the demons are very much alive. I dunno anymore, it's such a mess overall I wonder why I still care.
Xera was looking for "Ilidan" not "Illidan" so I can understand why he got pissed :D
"Whatever that thing was, I doubt that was the only one in Sargeras' asshole." - Illidan Stormrage
This confirms the fact that Azeroth has a titan spirit
Legacy of the Void is looking great.
The podling. 10/10
My idea of sub- races:
Human- Kul Tiran.
Im still working through legion. I can't wait to get to Argus.
illidan inspires me to strive to forge my own path
1: Please don't kill Anduin lol, he's not even 18 yet
2: Where's Wrathion!? Considering that he foresaw the Legion's return... The Developers also said they were planning something for him and that he'll return, but Legion's pretty much ended...
3: Haha, that Podling made my day!
OMG! Alarak! 51:05
I found it really weird that Illidan was talking like he knew exactly how Velens past went..
I get the feeling that you WANT to see Sylvanas as evil, Nobbel...
Illidan one shots that naru like it was nothing
Anyone else think it seems a bit suspicious that there is always a lot that the Naruu don't want "you" to know?
wait wut, so illidan got wipe off from the story just to be a jailer now?
He became Maiev
Illidan has Fel in his blood, but the Naruu are strong beings & yet Illidan is stronger than the Naruu? He was the phrosied one??? This makes no sense.
1:18:24
Balance my friend.
There must be balance!
52:50 is my favorite part.
WE CHANGED! Just. As. Argus. Did
This part here I can't help but mimic
I AM MY SCARS!
The next line was better
Ah so that’s where the hearthstone doomsayers come from?
This happened........having a RP scene with a pile of gore talking is odd...it gets even odder when that gore slides around the floor to get into position for velen to 'kill' it
Perhaps they use Argus as their conduit to revive on that world without having to return to the nether first?
What me wonders in the end of Questline for Anduin He said Many Heros have fallen like Bolvar and his Father... but he is not Dead... I wonder how the futher is looking when they meet agian, Bolvar the ruler of the Dead and Anduin as a new Might of the Light.
I think Vol'Jin is being short sighted and only thought of the horde. Wrong Windrunner, I would say or maybe it's all of them.
*FELLOW DRAENEI,RAISE YOUR EYES INTO SKIES AND OBSERVE*
Velen looks stoned in the thumbnail.
BEST AGGRAMAR ENCOUNTER EVER.
