Working at a major US parts manufacture, there were always defects, but the QA was supposed to weed them out. A couple always slipped thru, cause I worked returns and warranty and I got to see them all. I think as long as its around 0.01% failure they are happy, cause it would cost a fortune to completely test every part (like they did for military use) and be cost prohibitive to consumers.
When I worked in a small engine engine shop in the mid 90’s. You couldn’t even find a aftermarket carb that was made in China. It was all OEM. Now it seems like all the parts and engines are from China. Wow, have things changed! Great video!
Very well explained and myself being in the forging business and knowing about casting i can 100% tell you that is a cold shut formed during the aluminium pouring process. Never saw this condition in an aftermarket carb but normally they leak as received so i normally put in the OEM bowl gasket and never had a problem.
My father's neighbor gave him 2 snowblower last year that doesnt start or run right. One mtd and the other is a craftsman. Both with tecumseh engine. I ordered 2 carb from amazon. And now both run really good with these chinese carb! I'm rockin the mtd and my father kept the one with the electric start!
Nice, yea you honestly can't beat it, probably $40 in carbs and you have 2 running machines. Just keep that oil changed all everything lubricated, and they'll last a lifetime! Thanks for watching!
Nice find. I have only had two aftermarket carbs with issues. Most are pretty good and usually have no issues. I did find the adjustments are usually o.k. and don't need very adjustment. I have had lots of issues with the Briggs carbs (Nikki) and I am looking for better replacements. Thanks for the video's.
How many different carburetors are there? Roughly speaking that is. Can you inventory like 12 different carbs and cover 80% of the small engines? Or are they all different?
Almost everyone of them has a different outer design, but I'd say 90% of them are internally designed the same. Bowl, float, needle etc... I've swapped around carbs from a snowblower to a rototiller but the newer stuff you almost always need to buy a replacement if the original is damaged
Good day Yea that is not very common. But my bro. has honda cast aluminum deck has a hole in size of nickel. Interesting. Now what will a ford pkup do, aluminum does pitt. Anyways good video. I can see why you would replace that carb, being in business. Thanks Merry Christmas & happy new yr. to you Thanks
Can you please tell me which Chinese aftermarket carb manufacturers you recommend ? I need to replace a Tecumseh # 632371A on my old Simplicity snowblower with HSK70 engine. Thank you.
I ordered a cheap Chinese carb replacement for a cheap Chinese wen oem genny (probably same carb.) New replacement won't fire the engine once. Nothing. Dead. It's direct from China. These things come out of tune? I can't imagine jets being shut to the point they pass no fuel. Any advice? Thanks, Jim from Kenosha.
@@EliminatorPerformance - Dude, lightning reply. Very appreciated. I checked for that, and fuel is def getting to the bowl. I got it to fire up, but it won't run well with choke fully open. I checked the pilot and it is clear. any more ideas? again, thanks!

JB Weld will cure that casting defect. It will hold for decades if you clean the aluminum really well and rough up the area around the hole.
I've found that Chinese carbs are hit or miss.
Absolutely, but if you can buy 4 for the price of 1, it's almost worth the aggravation! Thanks for watching!

Take the float bowl off, the float is probably adjusted incorrectly and the needle valve is stuck! Either that or it won't prime the fuel properly.
