    Hi James - my wife and I have been big fans of your channel now for awhile. We are also frequent travellers to Vegas. Just letting you know we are staying at Planet Hollywood as we speak for a week and your review and take on planet Hollywood is spot on. We followed your recommendation for happy hour at Koi and loved it. Trip highlight so far. Thanks for the great content and hello from Nova Scotia.
    PS - also really enjoy the “Cancun” style videos. The synergy of Vegas and Caribbean kind of works.

    I've never stayed at Planet Hollywood before, its just not my vibe. Despite me only being 32, I find PH (and Cosmo for that matter) a bit TOO rambunctious for my liking, at least to stay. I prefer to go out to other properies to party and live it up and have my home base be more relaxed where I can kick my feet up and bask in its luxury. That is why I am looking forward to my stay at Vdara's secret suites in a few weeks! ✌😎. As for kids in Vegas, thats a whole chapter of ranting I think I will save for another day. Thanks for another coolist Vegas review!

    • @Coolist
      @Coolist 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Cosmo is cool with SOME class, PH is just straight cool, but these days, like you, I prefer classy with some cool - like Aria or Wynn/Encore.
      Having your hotel home base be comfortable, calm, classy, and more quiet is key in Vegas, because nonstop chaos and craziness at places like cosmo is too draining for me.

    • @Coolist
      @Coolist 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      My experience was that the rooms were relatively quiet at night, BUT that all depends on who your neighbors are, where your room is situated (close to elevator or ice machine), and overall how busy the hotel is. Having a quiet room can be luck of the draw sometimes. PH is an energetic property with a lively crowd, so the possibility of a rowdy neighbor or loud floor is more likely there than say Wynn or palazzo.

    Great review :) Stayed at PH three years ago. The rooms definitely needed a makeover. Hard as rock beds, rust around everything in the bathroom. Every room back then had a cool piece of movie memorabilia. Our room had John Travolta's jacket from Get Shorty. Did your updated room have anything in it? Also next time your in Florida, you should do a multi-day trip to Hard Rock Seminole just outside Miami in Hollywood. They just did a 1.5 billion dollar expansion, and from the videos/reviews it seems on par with the top large Vegas resorts. Would love to see your take/review of it.

    • @Coolist
      @Coolist 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You'll definitely see that property on my channel at some point. I've heard really good things about the renovation / expansion.
      The remodeled rooms at PH were fresh, comfortable, modern and clean - nothing like the words you used to describe the older rooms. However, seemingly, the newer rooms have traded their former personality for their newer contemporary comfort, because the generic artwork above my bed offered the only bit of edge in the room. There wasn't any memorabilia in my room, which wasn't even standard, it was a premium room.

    Liking your reviews. I’m hearing a lot of “abbreviated menu’s” through your restaurant visits; Do you think that’s due to COVID? I know so many places are limiting options to manage costs through the pandemic while traffic is low. I LOVED my stay at PH when I was there before all of this. Also, do you think your experiences would be better if things were fully open / normal?

    • @Coolist
      @Coolist 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks Amber.
      Vegas is pretty much back to normal now. Some really high end restaurants are still just open on weekends and popular weekdays, but I have no doubt things will be Entirely and absolutely 💯 open and functional, just like they were before this ordeal, within weeks. I actually went back to PH a few times after this stay and it was so much better of an experience.
      And yes, the abbreviated menus are definitely COVID related, for the exact reasons you mentioned: food availability and cost cutting.
