Thanks for the video. Will wait with the Estrella until I've listened to Fatfreq Deuce a while (ordered but not shipped yet). Also, full retail price of ISN H60 is $349. Most people won't have access to the VIP coupons.
The Fan 3 is smooth, rich, clear and cohesive, with added soundstage with the BC switch on. Sounds beautiful with every combination of amp/dac cables/tips I've tried.
H60 is incredible, just had really bad ergonomics on the stock cable. Still waiting for Estrella, hoping it can match or surpass the H60, with a bit more sub bass and treble extension.
Hello Tony. I have a question, inrecently bought the Penon Fan 3 and Hype 4. Sold the hype today and sent fan away during the return period. I loved Penon mids, the lush organic vocals, but I felt the Fan 3 was a bit too polite when compared to lively and dynamic Hype 4. I love the Hype bass amount and quality, but I much more preffer mids and highs of Penon. I wanted to get the 10th anniversary, but it i out of stock and production… and was still available not too long ago. What would be your recommendation up to 500 or so dollars? I heard great things and recommendations for: Isn Neo 5, H60, EST50 and sound Rhyme dte500. I listen mostly to 70-80 stuff, like Dore strait and rock ballads, and the new stuff is mostly vocals oriented. What would be your advice? Is the Penon Quattro/ISN H60 a sweet spot? Or is ot better to spend a little more for the est drivers? P.S hype 4. Was vented better than fan3, i had a little of pressure buildup in the left ear especially. Would like to avoid that as well.
Fantastic comparison as usual! I have the DaVinci thanks to your recommendation and love it. Am I correct to assume that the Estrella would be a nice additional flavor with extra sparkle on top?
Thank you. Usually I pass by your reviews because its too long for me but here I watched all. What do you think of Dusk? I had both hype 4 and dusk. Dusk is a monster in details for me. Tunning I preffer slightly less treble. I am sensitive to treble. I think estrella is too not my choice. Maybe davinci. Maybe cadenza for neutralish tunning. Because thick basshead sound I have already with ikko oh10

I was wondering how it compares with the dusk with DSP .. tried the dusk a few weeks ago and enjoyed the base and the sound (in DSP mode) but I use 3.5 most of the time ..
@@amanieux ok let me try to explain, the Estrella has a little more resolution than the Hype4. On the other hand the Hype has a tonality and timbre that seen a little more organic and realistic to my ears. Bass wise there's no definitive winner.....they trade blows in terms of weight, with the Hype having perhaps a little more subbass at times while Estrella has the edge on terms of slam......but they are about equal. Mids again the similarities are high , but to my ears the Estrella edges slightly the Hype ,because by having that extra treble energy it allows my library in terms of female vocals to have just a little more detail. Please keep in mind this is all with my music library and with my ears.....so it could invert itself in your ears, but either way the differences are not big ....very subtle.
I got a couple of months ago an used Leisurely Audio L8S after you highly praised it on your review and mentioned it was pretty close to the Aur Audio Neon Pro in terms of performance, and I am amazed by it, definitely the best IEM I have ever heard…do you think the Estrella is an upgrade to the L8S or a sidegrade?
Great vid, Tony. I'm sold on the Estrella. I noticed you've swapped the stock IEM cable with XINHS cable. Wasn't clear why you picked the XINHS cable over others. BTW, which XINHS type did you use? Thanks in advance!
Hello Akros, can you recommend me a perfect cable match for the isn h60? I actually use the stock cable which everyone hates but I kinda like it. It brings a crystal clear ambient atmosphere, the highs are accentuated but it makes instruments very realistic. Better than xinhs and ivipq cables which I have and costs a lot more. Do you have sort have end game cable for it but not too crazy expensive? 3d stage improvement and perfect timbre/layering/separation is a plus.
So fun, great review. Is it a coincidence that the ISN H60 makes Akros voice sound WAY better? Try it and tell me I'm wrong. FYI, the Penon black medium silicon tips and Space Cable really clean up the sound of the H60. I'd like to see a graph of it with different cables and different tips, as there are notable changes that happen on that front.
nice vid. It seems in this case the four Ziigaat's sound like their graphs indicates they would sound. Notice where the Estrella's pinna peaks... 4.5k. that is the cause of what you refer to as your "nit pick", that upper mid energy that you would handle by turning the volume "slightly down" on the occasional song. Interesting that the relaxed pinna trend of late isn't the Estrella... Jay has taken his own path, and based on his own vids, he was looking to avoid the boringness of he new META. As for my personal taste, the new META is where it's at. Naturalness > Fun so long as dynamics are not sacrificed... and that fine balance is where ear canal and tip choice matter so much.
@@Hijynx87 the new meta pinna gain is about 3-4db below the 2019 Harman. Da Vinci is almost exactly new META, so is the Dusk using DSP cable. Hype 4 is a couple of db above the new meta. some people think the new meta lacks detail or sparkle in the upper mids, or is boring. I don't, so I like the graphing of the Da Vinci so I will try the Da Vinci soon. In the meantime I am eq'ing my Canon 2 to the new Meta in the pinna area. what the new meta lacks in sparkle and detail, it makes up for with a natural timbre, the ability to crank the volume without getting irritating, and femaile voices especially sound full and correct.
Some may ask why I want more bass than the H60 has…. Well for many people, a premium sound system has a very good subwoofer with subbass you cannot get on cheaper systems. So if I’m paying a lot more than cheaper IEMs I’d prefer a more impressive subbass than the H60 provides. In some songs I know there’s a good subbass line but you can barely hear it while on other cheaper bassier earbuds, the bass is more noticeable. So I’m looking for a similarly priced model with equally awesome mids vocals and treble but with that extra non-bleeding bass punch.
