I love this song... and this arrangement (and various performances) is absolutely superb. Nicely done. I can feel the tragedy of the story through this resonating performance. As for the song origin... just to set the record straight, "Lilium" recording for the anime was performed by opera singer Kumiko Noma, and sung in Latin and Greek. Songwriters Kayo Konishi and Yukio Kondo say that they extracted their lyrics from Christian biblical passages: notably the Book of Psalms, the Epistle of James, and the Kyrie prayer. Kondo also references the hymn "Ave mundi spes Maria," the latter of which there is a noted performance by Ms Noma. Incidentally, the song "Elfenlied" is in the manga, and credited to the composer Hugo Wolf. Moreover, Wolf references a poem written by Eduard Morike. This song is taught to Nyu by Nozomi, a character that only appears in the manga version of the story. I highly recommend the manga - but you must have a strong heart to read it.

This song is so sad😥.Thanks for share this vdieo!
Elfen lied was one of my favorite animes of all time. I'm so used to the slow tempo that the song sounded weird but got accustomed to it lol. It sounded good, the crescendos and decrescendos were nice!

Elfen Lied nunca muere
Nunca olviden a Lucy!
I love this song. Perfect opening for elfen lied. Such a good anime. I want to rewatch it but I can't, I can't handle all the feels, the heartbreaking and sad scenes again. 🖤
man i luv this. bringing back old memories from the days i watched Elfen lied and vampire knight lol. still my fav shows.
THAT BALD GUY DEF WATCHED THE ANIME THATS Y HES SO PASSIONATE I LOVE HIM
the rearrangement sounds great
Watching humans make music with their bodies rather than fashioned instruments never ceases to renew a little of my pride in my own species.
❤❤❤❤
This sounds extremely beautiful. I'm in tears

Ahhh this gave me chills. Time for an anime rewatch while quarantined.
