you guys are so great together. makes me smile. 10 years ago this month my love of 25 years passed we had so much car fun and fun together. you two remind me of us.
Dang that's tough! Sorry for your loss. I'm glad you made memories together! My GF of 10yrs do the same. She like Daniel smart and learns fast and as pretty women they are they actually enjoy it and can be girly also.
Hey Dan and Danielle, Dan, this is a little trick I use to do when I changed oil. I would take a screw driver and punch a hole in the bottom of any oil filter and let it drain. That way you don't make a mess or have it go down your arm. Just a little tied bit for you.
I had a 78 Caprice 4 door. Old man car bought it with 35,000 miles on it. One of the best built cars ever. Most reliable low cost maintenance. Not to bad on gas for what it is. What you're doing to yours is awesome.. They driive like a dream. Too bad they weren't all wheel drive.
I bought a used 65 Impala 4dr sedan with the 283 Powerglide P/S and A/C but standard drum brakes/ It had a little over 100,000 miles and. it was in need of everything. The body was in fair shape and with some work I got it into a good driver. Of course I used whatever parts used that I could find for it, but had I put some real effort and rebuilt all of the items that needed done it would have made a good car. It actually rode very well out on the open highway and there are times I wished I had kept it. Now the 65 Impala did not have the heavier suspension that the later one's had (I believe in the late sixties or early seventies they had the heavier suspension and five on five wheels ( mine had the 4 and 3/4 bolt pattern like a Chevelle). The car had all of its pieces and the body was not rotted out, it would have made a good resto project.
I had the delta 88 olds version of one of these. Had a set of wrangler LT snow tires on the rear and ice tracks on the front. Best winter car ever. Loved that thing. She got a rustolem orange paint job with a set of junkyard turbines. Great car, like riding a couch encased in a tank
From now on its Dani here. Good job Dani! Dan, you could have put the car down 1 stop to compensate for her being vertically challenged. Either that or she is going to need some steel toe, oil resistant elevator cross to help her out. DD is the best
Love watching Danni work with you ! She is so sweet and fun to watch work and learn about her car ! The blue shop towels are not good for window cleaning! They leave streaks ! Use newspaper or brown paper roll towels.
Like your channel. Lots of good stuff.! Awesome Caprice guys! They're totally like driving a couch. So comfy and a dream to drive. I've got the Olds wagon version. Also used that Nufinish. The wax stayed on there a whole year! Left a nice shine too!
I have a Caprice, I thought many times about selling and buying the car of my dreams to build, some 55/56/57 Chevy, but every time I think about it, the result is that I still keep my 78' Caprice for its excellent ride and comfort!!! Happy 2025!!
You go Danny and Dan you two kids have it figured out but Danny knows a hell of a lot more than she shows not many other than old school mechanics know about turning it to the left to to find where the bolt drops into the thread lines up on the oil pan drain love watching you kids
Yeah I learned that a long time ago, keeps the cross threading demon away. Best to thread by hand as much as possible. I have seen people cross thread fasteners trying to save time and unless they just jam the fastener in (it'll be the next guy's problem) they lose time having to repair a cross threaded part.
Miss Dani, Dan should've explained to why you should check your automatic transmission fluid while the engine is running because when the engine is off, a significant amount of fluid drains back into the transmission pan, giving you an inaccurate reading on the dipstick; with the engine running, the fluid is circulating throughout the transmission system, providing a more accurate level indication.
Yo Danny - It's Georgina on my hubby Steve's sign in. We're having a good time watching you two as usual. No wonder Dannie was careful stuffing that HUGE boat into the garage thru that narrow door. We used to have a similar '81 Impala when we 1st dated. Great that you got Dannie to pop her oil change cherry LOL She did a great job of the oil change - a rockstar lube tech in no time, but she had you to point the way. Maybe next time though, you could crouch down a bit while watching her do something under the car, and have the lift adjusted to her height so she's not on tippy toes.
Avid fanboy here. As much of a fan of tri-fives you are, I am of 77' through 90' square body Impala/Caprice chebbies. They made a two door with a (what i would call a NASCAR rear window) that richly deserves that duel-quad big block you have. (sorry, no fender well headers) Well anyway, great video. Nice to see Daniele on camera, you guys are cool. Happy New Year, Best wishes & keep the gas pedal mashed!
Dan.....On the corner lamp that you are fixing, use Seal All. About six months ago you were using it on something and you said how good it worked . You said you got it at Autozone so I bought some, worked great. Also I can but Kroil spray for $21.00 a can.
Good to see Dani doing the oil change in her safety crocks, totally enjoyed this episode. Have you looked at getting a cheap MACO paint job, if not 1 liter of red to 2 liter of white would give it a nice Dani pink paint job in the spring.
When I was younger and had more energy (and also less responsibility) I washed and waxed my ride every weekend as well as doing the interior and glass. I used Turtle Wax as it was quick and easy and it kept the finish maintained. Of course as I have aged my enthusiasm has waned and the outside of a vehicle is not so much a priority (and there are other chores that need to be done as well) This car is a driver and keeping the finish up with washing and waxing will keep it clean and protected. Granted the places up on the front end could use refinishing the rest of the car seems to be in fair shape as far as the paint goes. Overall the car looks to be in good shape and is the last year for that particular body style as the 1990 Caprices totally changed in body style (looked like a Hudson updated and were coined "upside down bath tubs") A friend of mine bought a 1991 Caprice new and it served him well and he gave it to his daughter when she started college. That's a good car and it will give good service. Forget the shine juice just keep it cleaned up and polished. I'm not a big fan of excessive undercoating, mt Dad bought a 77 Chevrolet pickup new and he had it undercoated and the problem with that is if it is applied too heavy the undercoating will dry out and flake off creating pockets that will hold dirt and guess what the truck is rotted out but everything else is good. Lightly spraying that product you used will probably suffice and if you keep it cleaned out underneath the rust will be abated. Dani did a good job.🥸👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Do you self a favor, when pouring out of a gallon jug turn it spout up so that you can control the flow better. Plus do as you like using Lucas all treatment . Take if from someone who has been in this game twice as long , maybe even three times as long that junk will cause more problems than it helps. Such as oil being so thick on cold start up that I've seen oil shafts twisted as a result. Also it will cause oil starvation do to oil so thick that it won't wick threw filter and strainer. Now if you lived where your temperatures where 70deg or above then I could see some benefits to using it. But till then you may want to really consider why your using it.
Wow! Flashback to the 70's TV commercial for Nu-Finish! Would be really cool for us south of the border types to see the inside or a tour of LORDCO. They don't have anything that big here in So Cal! Also cool to see the '55 in action and pulling winter duty. Keep up the great work guys!
We bought a 88 caprice in 1992 with only 26000 miles. I had issues with the distributor at about 50,000 miles. There is a metal screen on the bottom that is supposed to allow it to breathe and keep moisture out. The screen was blocked up with dust from gravel roads and moisture built up on the wall of the cap and it started misfiring. Easy fix but something that should be looked at. Ours had the 305 and still a carburetor but was a great car. With the automatic overdrive it got decent mileage especially with the national speed limit of 55 mph.
I had a BBC that the distributor fell apart on and ran great with spring in cap popped out along with magnetic pickups I was in awe because truck bang started with it being that way
She's sooooo lucky to have that heated garage and nice lift to do her 1st oil change. Beats the heck out mine on a gravel driveway, a 50 degree fall day with a light drizzle ...
Watching you guide Dannie on the hoist broght back some memories. I was guiding our oil change kid on the hoist. I put up my hand and gestured for him to stop. Nope. He gave it full throttle and came off the hoist and hit me. If that wasn't bad enough, he pinned me up against a brick wall. I don't remember too much about what happened . Other than yelling for someone to take me to the hospital. I won't go into details about my injuries, other than the doctor saying that I may never walk again. Well I fooled them all. Within 6 months I was up walking with my cane or a walker. This happened in 2009. That was pretty much the time when I retired from the trade. I was 49. I always wanted to retire early. That just isn't the way I was planning it.
The ole “Broham” edition. Classic in the making. I like the late 70s cars. Same block just throw out the emissions shit and raise the compression. Perfect recipe IMO!
DD speed shop. You need to reduce stress at the header bolts on the heads. Run a brace to your collector from the Bell House. That way you dont get flex at the header bolts that blow out the gaskets.

Finally things are looking good at D D got to lovem speed shop and DAN you sound older than I am complaining about the door being open . More than me and I very old . Like the 4 door but as a old fart it needs 8 inch wide 15 inch wheels with 235 78 15 tires . And a small beauty band like your beautiful wife . She is such a sweet person.
I was told that the modern engine...hardened valve seats..does not need high zinc oil. Because zinc plugs the catalytic converter since late 70's..but I guess also that is likely a tbi engine but still could have flat tappet cam shaft..so some zinc maybe a good idea...who knows..lol
Gotta love that mechanic's apprentice. She did well! Happy New Year Dan & Dannie 🇨🇦

Sorry to hear that my friend

As a kid in the 70's almost everything was closed on Sundays, it was great, everyone could hangout, eat, drink and be merry.
So true...
I was loling when Danni turned right back around to get out of the cold. That's TH-cam gold.
Im going to show this video to my wife.Great job Danni.
Dan when you called her an old lady you took your life in your hands!😊
Haha she drives a caprice. She's old

Thats what you need for the winter
I could so picture Dani’s rocking some 26” Rucci or Forgiatos on her Box Chevy. Probably not her style but I could still envision it.
yeah man, that Caprice is donk material if I ever saw it . . .

I have a 85 Caprice Classic I restored this summer ❤❤❤
I absolutely luv the 83 to 90 Caprice Classic
Good for Danni! Missouri says hi.
Love watching Danni work with you ! She is so sweet and fun to watch work and learn about her car ! The blue shop towels are not good for window cleaning! They leave streaks ! Use newspaper or brown paper roll towels.

Doesn't get much better for ride
I don't want to seem out of line here, but Dani is as cute as a kitten.
Well that brings back memories... I remember when Josh lost his oil plug in the grass that was at forestburg ab
Danni, you look so super cute with those safety glasses !! I realy enjoyed watching you work on your pride and joy chevy !
Good job showing her whats going on,she did a good job.

Tip of the day for Dan….. Danni is not as tall as Dan. Lower the lift 1 notch next time. That’s why you have it. For convenience.
Convenience for me....
Great job Dani!!!! Love the channel!
That was nicely done. Dani did great on the oil change. I think that Caprice is an excellent car. Cheers!! 😎
You all are awesome together, keep up the awesome team work...
Danni has progressed so well from helping bleeding breaks👍👍
Dan you are a lucky man to have someone to help you work on cars. God bless and have a blessed evening and night
Dannie got her own microphone? The production values are really going top notch.

That car deserves a paint job. It’s such a nice example
Reminds me of teaching my buddy's daughters to do maintenance on their vehicles in the nineties.
Plus with out a lift. Old school.👍🏁
The old car is looking awesome indeed. You two are doing a great job. Keep up the great work. Okay.
Happy new year
Making a mechanic out of Dani. Happy New Year.
Great episode! Thanks
Hahaha. I love it. Dannies gunna blow right past ya... in the DuST!

You can spray bomb the hood and trunk lid . Gunmetal gray if a great color to match with a spray can . I’ve done many. Have a great week guys.

The Caprice needs FENDERWELL HEADERS!
So impressed with the block heater on that Sweeeet ride ❤
Good job Dani ! Look at you all wrenchin and oiling, identifying part ! The hubcaps just look right.

Merry Christmas and happy new year 🎊🎆🎈 Dan and Danni great show 😎🤙👍🥸🎄
Lift tip: cut a piece of 3/4 plywood that fits between the lift rails. This will give more clearance for oil changes.
Dannie I like the wheels change ❤❤❤❤
Thanks for the video you 2. Nice Caprice.

New finish car polish is great stuff, easy to get off and lasts for quite a while
Happy New Year 🎉Dan and Dani
Good tc see Dani leaning something Happy New Year
Good job, Dani! 😊👍
I have an 86. They're great cars.

You're a great teacher Dan and Dannie gets a A + in shop lube tech 😊
Watching you guide Dannie on the hoist broght back some memories. I was guiding our oil change kid on the hoist. I put up my hand and gestured for him to stop. Nope.

Wow you are working hard on yourself ❤❤❤❤❤
Maybe you could lower the lift so Dani can reach and give her directions from a rolling computer chair. Lol!
It’s about time dds slow car shop gets a real mechanic.i love the 305 shot rod good job Daniel the true talent ❤😂
You two are unreal.
What a score, they were awesome cars, flip the ac lid and let the quadrabog howl

DAN/DANI, I substitute 1 quart of oil for Marvel mystery oil every oil change. Good 👍 job queen D 😊
And STILL with only 42,500 miles! Not bad!
Good job Danny
Nice job Dani as wells as car.

I love how Dan classifies every car in the corral as a "Hot Rod". 😆
Compared to the junk that they are selling in present time. Ya!
Nice job dani
I really liked the nufinish polish on my camaro. I would use it before putting it away for the winter and it would clean up easier in the spring
It's good stuff haha
