Hi Alison, you are absolutely amazing and a wonderful artist. So glad I found you on YT a couple of weeks ago. I love your tag today - thank you for sharing your beautiful creations with us. You're an inspiration. Have a great weekend xx❤❤😊😊
Tres jolie Alison! I guess I am a full blown devotee now, because I chose A Few minutes of Fun over the Tim Holtz Live that is currently underway. 🙂 And it was totally worth it. Have a wonderful weekend. Stay dry. ☔️ 🌧️ ⛅️ 🌹 🍃
Oh my... well, if that isn't a compliment, I don't know what is! Hope you caught some of the Live later at least. (That got very alliterative at the end there!) Having said that, it's too early for Christmas stuff for me - I can't usually get my head round festive creating until December (at the earliest). So happy you enjoyed the last of the summer roses (they're still blooming in my garden, so I'm not giving in to autumn entirely yet), and thank you as always for your company.
Absolutely love your videos! You explained stuff so well, such a beautiful project thank you for all your hard work and inspiration. God bless stay safe and healthy.
What a beautiful thought - that our art can grow... I completely agree. I'm still on a learning curve, and there's nothing I love more than that! Thank you so much, as always, for your company on this creative journey.
This is sooooooooooo beautiful Alison, the music is gorgeous as well and of course I ordered this stamp😅😅😅😅😅😅😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍 As always, thank you so much for sharing the process
It's a great way to bring back all the amazing detail in these stamps (or in any stamp)... happy to help with a reminder of that! Thanks so much for your lovely comment.
You might be right about the pink... it emerges every now and then! Very happy you enjoyed the process on this one. Thanks so much for watching and commenting.
Another stunning creation 🤩 I am very much a pink and lace kind of girl,so this was heavenly!!! Loved the tip of going back to re ink after colouring. I will be doing that from now on.
Very happy to hear you enjoyed the pink laciness! And yes, that second stamping is such a great way to bring back all the details. Thanks so much for watching and for your lovely comment.
Another gorgeous pice of work and it looks like so much fun. I’ve seen colouring of stamps before but your attention to detail is exquisite. Thanks so much for sharing Alison ❤️🇨🇦
Thank you so much for that lovely comment. I think the detail-obsession probably emerges out of my love of botanical watercolours (I don't know whether you've seen the video where I do some watercolouring of my PaperArtsy tissue paper, which is based on my own drawings... th-cam.com/video/AMisrNYVfRo/w-d-xo.html ). If I'm going to colour in, I want the end result to be worth my time! Hope you have a great weekend.
It really is fun Alison. I do have the same tags, never used them with stamps, only with all kind of other things and snippets. it will be great to give this stamping on it a chance.
@@w0rdsandp1ctures In fact what I like less of these tags is their extremely white back in combination with the front. I mostly give that a light wash.
Thank you so much Alison, I really really enjoyed watching create this beautiful and stunningly gorgeous tag. But, it’s more than just a tag, it’s a work of art and I think it’s so beautiful and exquisite too. Please stay safe and well too xxxx Mags ❤❤❤❤❤
I have that stamp set too but haven't used it yet, so this is just the encouragement I needed. The tag is beautiful and the colours you chose work so well. Your work is so inspiring - thank you for sharing, as always.
Oh great... I hope you'll have a lovely time inking up the stamps for the first time - they are really great... incredibly detailed. Thanks so much for your company on this creative journey.
Hello Alison! Happy Saturday!!! Happy Weekend!!! I’ve just decided that I need to start taking notes while watching your videos as I know a lot about brain fog these days. By the time I’ve enjoyed one of your lovely 45 + minute videos I can’t remember half of what I wanted to say! LOL =) I absolutely LOVE your tag. I so enjoy the process of watching you decide which snippet to add where and I’m commenting right along with you, yep or no, not quite right, etc. and… I just love it when we realize the tag is ‘done’ at the same time. I said, “that’s it”… and… it was! =) Ranger recently had a 25% off code so I finally committed to get the last three sets of the Distress pencils that I was on the fence about. I haven’t officially swatched any of the pencils yet but with 6 tins of assorted shades I will definitely be rearranging them into color order so I can actually find what I’m looking for. I also got that French Garden stamp - I love those illustration style stamps - the detail is amazing! Thanks for the reminder to use the stamping platform to be able to stamp those details back in after coloring. I can see where this isn’t your normal wheelhouse but, Alison, your tag could be from a century ago - it’s so incredibly, beautifully vintage (ahh - hence the Edwardian Lady comment - see… I told you… brain fog 😮😊😂) I’ve added a few of your older stamp sets to my arsenal that I couldn’t resist that touched my heart for one reason or another. I loved the idea of the quote stamps and was drawn to a couple that may or may not surprise you: The Happiness Edition (probably not a surprise) and Sunshine & Rain (a bit surprising to me but I just kept going back to it)… I have just one more story to share - one of the various botanical stamps I chose was the Rosemary Edition… for remembrance… LSS - Jim chose to donate his body to science and the University sent me a packet of dried rosemary with a beautiful poem on it… so… I had to have that stamp. ❤ Hope you have a wonderful weekend- I’m planning on some FUN PLAY TIME both inside and outside as It’s my Birthday weekend and I have 3 days to celebrate! I’m hoping to enjoy extra time with art stuff as well as camping with my siblings. It’s supposed to be a beautiful sunny warm weekend! Thanks again for all you do to encourage and inspire! LOVE spending time with you on this creative journey! 🙂
Happy happy birthday to you... I hope you'll have a wonderful three days, with warm sunshine, good company (no mosquitos), love, laughter, and some creative playtime into the bargain. 25% off is a great deal on the pencils - good work! The swatching took a LONG time (the swatching video linked in the description is already long, and that was just one sixth of the total number!), but it was completely worth it to see both the colours in action and the variation in effects you can get by applying the pencils in different ways. I'm delighted you've invested in some quote stamps - I love having those evocative, thought-provoking (or smile-provoking) words available to add to projects... as a collector of words, it was a no-brainer for me when I first suggested the idea of quote collections to Leandra at PaperArtsy. And I love where it has led since, adding pictures to the words. Rosemary is one of my all-time favourite plants, as well as one of my favourite stamp plates. In Stratford-upon-Avon, where I worked for many years, on Shakespeare's birthday (23rd April - probably!), everyone processes from the church to the theatre, wearing sprigs of rosemary because as you say (and Ophelia too) "that's for remembrance". The whole town smells of it... pure magic! And what a thoughtful touch by the University... I'm impressed. Back to happy birthday to sign off... have a brilliant time!
Your tag reminds me of my mom. She loved pink and lace and anything frilly. Also, the stamping platform "tutorial" was helpful. I'm learning so much from your videos. Thank you.
Oh, that's nice that it summoned up happy memories of your mother. So glad to hear you are finding the videos useful. Thanks so much for watching and sharing your thoughts.
I loved this one!!! Gave me some great ideas on using stamping and my watercolors (both paints and pencils)... Truly inspirational and beautiful... I so appreciate your generosity... I get more from your videos than many of the paid classes I have taken. Thank you!!!
That's so lovely to hear, Jane - I'm so happy that this provided such fuel for thought... and for playtime! Thank you for your company on this creative journey.
So inspiring to see how you colored these beautiful flowers so gorgeously and created with them and the fun extra pieces this fabulous tag 😍 I learn so much from your outload thinking! Thanks for the inspiration, Alison, have a wonderful evening and hopefully you'll be feelling better soon❤
Ms. Allison, i was happy to see the bit of summer on this Autumn Eve's. Beautiful work once again. I must agree with you on the extreme that one can go when you love the grunge. 💜
Well, the roses are still out in my garden, so I'm not giving in to autumn completely yet! Happy you enjoyed the late summer fun, and thank you so much for watching and for your lovely comment.
I only discovered your channel two days ago but already spent a LOT of minutes watching your videos and I’m in love! Watching you creating, listen to your voice and the excitement and joy you express when things come together to something wonderful makes me happy and encourages me to trust my own creativity a bit more 😊 The things you create are so so beautiful!
That's such lovely feedback to read - thank you so much. I'm sorry it's taken a while to respond, but I've been staying somewhere with no internet (aaagghh!). I'm delighted you found your way here, and I hope you've been continuing to enjoy exploring the channel. Thank you so much for watching and for your lovely comment.
Oh my - it will be fabulous to have access to your supplies again... like having a whole new toyshop to play in! Good luck with the unpacking, and I'm so happy to offer up inspiration to start playing again.
Hi Alison, I love watching what you do and have done for some time now. I usually don't comment on people's vlogs, as much as I love their creativity, however, this was absolutely lovely and I appreciate you sharing this with everyone. Thankyou.
Thank you - it took longer than I'd hoped, but I think I've finally managed to see off the cold properly!! Very happy you enjoyed the video, and I hope you'll enjoy exploring further on the channel. Thanks so much for watching and commenting.
I bet you can... it takes time and practice (but that's really another word for playtime!). So happy you enjoyed the video - thank you for watching and commenting.
Really pretty tag and useful technique. I was thinking you may have added some pink to the gyp as 'floral spattering' but it's subtle in white. I use very cheap hand sanitiser gel for cleaning my stamps- (works pretty well for Stazon). Thanks.
Oh, yes, hand sanitiser gel is a great idea - I always forget about that - thanks for sharing the tip. I'm afraid I'll always take white gypsophila over pink, but it's a lovely idea for pink fans! Thanks for watching and commenting.
Coming soon!! I'll be getting the die-cutting machine out (and the camera) as soon as I get back from my work trip. Should be up to watch next Saturday, all being well!
Merci beaucoup! And yes, of course, use anything you have in your supplies. (I wouldn't say they are EXACTLY the same - I have some Neocolors too - but they will do a beautiful job in any case!) Thank you so much for watching and commenting.
Alison, it is stunning - this is old world vintage. Love this particular stamp set but in our country🇿🇦 it is just too expensive to even consider purchasing it.
It's tough when the transport and taxes are added in... Very happy you enjoyed seeing it in action here though. Thank you so much for watching and commenting.
I love the stamp used but didn't see it listed. Do you happen to know if it still available? Absolutely lovely tag. I so enjoy your videos. TY for sharing.
It's at the top of the product list in the description below this video - French Garden CMS487. It's one of the more recent releases from Tim Holtz, so yes, it's definitely available.(In fact, Stampers Anonymous doesn't withdraw any of the Tim Holtz stamp sets - they are all always available, right back to the beginning.) If you're in the US, it will be in many, many online craft stores. Maybe start at Simon Says Stamp. If you're somewhere else in the world, putting "Tim Holtz French Garden stamps" into Google should find you something local(ish). Hope that helps, and I'm so happy you are enjoying the videos.
What a beautiful tag Alison. Sold on the stamping platform, thanks for the detail on its advantages. I wasn’t convinced the stamp was a rose though, I thought it looked more like a peony?
Yes, I think you're probably right about the peony - though it's also very similar to the multi-petalled David Austin roses I have in my garden, so that's the role it's playing in my head! Very happy you found it useful seeing the stamping platform in action. And thank you for watching and for your lovely comment.
Happy you enjoyed it, thank you. The tags I use are the same quality as the Ranger Ink Manila tags, though much cheaper, and I used to buy them in bulk. Sadly, the independent craft store in the UK where I used to get them had to close down, unable to continue competing with the likes of Amazon... When I've worked through the box I've got, I'm going to have to try to find a new source of supply.
Yes, you're not the first to suggest it's a peony, and I'm sure you're right... but it's quite similar to the many-petalled David Austin roses I have, so it's playing that role in my head at the moment! It'll become peonies again some time in the future.... Thanks so much for watching and for your lovely comment.
I love how you place different values in your work. That is what draws me into your world of art. Truly amazing artist! Even though the Tag Pad by Prima is not available, would you mind sharing what the name of it is? I am pleased to have found your work from Instagram.
Thank you so much for that thoughtful comment. I don't have the front cover of the tag pad any longer, I'm afraid, so I don't know what it was called. But at 44 seconds into the video you can see the item number on the back - 910235... Googling that along with "prima tag pad" got me a tag pad called Vintage Vanity - which seems to be the right tags (though I don't think my cover looked like the one that came up!). Hope that's of some help.
Hello Allison, I just found your videos a few days ago and I am very happy to get new points of view through them. Never thought about stamping again after colouration. I'll give it a go as soon as possible. Thanks for the inspiration. Have a nice sunny Sunday wherever you live. Best wishes from Germany. 😃 PS: Do you have some more information about the tags? They are really great! Thanks in advance!
Happy you found your way here - welcome! (Just the one L in Alison though - I'm a UK Alison not a US Allison - though I'm now based in the Czech Republic, where my grandparents were from originally.) So pleased to hear you are finding inspiration in the videos. I'm afraid that these particular Prima tags are no longer available - I bought them at least ten years ago. If you google search for "Prima tag pads", they do still make various options, but nothing quite like these, as far as I can see. Thanks so much for watching and commenting, much appreciated.
Thanks so much for your quick reply. I'm a big UK fan. We have been traveling to the UK almost every year for over thirty years. ❤ I'll try to make tags of my own. This should be possible with appropriate paper, stamps and stamp ink to “age” the paper.
The tags are by Prima (you can see the pad at about 45 seconds in the video), but I'm afraid I got them at least ten years ago, so I'm pretty sure they're not available any longer. They are a little taller than the standard size 8. From a quick Google search "prima tag pad" it looks as though they do still make various options, but mostly a little squatter than the standard size 8, and I don't see this design at first glance. If you do a search, you might find something you like. Happy you enjoyed the colours coming together - thanks for watching and commenting.
Even if you hesitated ….it came out nice at the end. I don’t look girly at all, but must say often it just explodes out in my work…all to my surprise It’s lovely as always, interesting to see all the variations, I would have stayed with a couple, just shows the infinite possibilities … I can’t find those PRIMA TAGS I fell in love with- is it a while you have them ?? any help to the name or where I can find them ? thanks
Pink always surprises me with how much I end up liking it! And yes, I think it's really great to look at different possibilities before deciding - though sometimes, like today's episode, that's a slow process! I'm afraid it's bad news on the Prima tags... I got them at least ten years ago, I think, in the very early days of my crafting, when I bought a lot of patterned and design papers. Then my creative journey took a different turn, and I used very little patterned paper for a long time - and it's only now that I find I like incorporating it again in different ways... so those tags have been waiting for their chance. But I'm pretty sure they're no longer available, sorry!
@@w0rdsandp1ctures...thanks...infact I could not find them...😅...or even anything similar... I will havev to make them up with stamps...😵💫😂..thank you❤
I googled "Tim Holtz stamp platform size" and got the answer 8.5 x 8.5 inches (21.5 x 21.5cm). Here's Tim himself talking about the platform (another thing which came up when I googled)... timholtz.com/the-stamp-platform/ Google searches can be a brilliant thing!
Ive never used these crayons... how do they differ from colored pencils or...do they? Easier to spread with water? Heavier and easier to color? Thank you !
In terms of application, they're not hugely different from some watercolour pencils, though yes, I would say that they are considerably easier to blend and move than some of the pencils I've encountered. And if you are already a Distress product fan, then you are getting the palette of colours you are familiar with and enjoy. The main difference is that the whole "pencil" is pigment... there is no casing other than the paper, so the whole thing can be used really easily in more mixed media techniques. If you're interested in seeing a bit more of them in action, comparing different ways of applying the colour, you could take a look at the video where I'm swatching them: th-cam.com/video/hMFUm9M7McM/w-d-xo.html and do check out Tim Holtz's own video introducing them, where he gives lots of details about the reasoning behind how he created them to be different from other pencils: timholtz.com/distress-watercolor-pencils/ Hope that's of some help - thank you for watching and commenting. Apologies for the delay in responding. I'm just back from a busy working trip to the UK - without internet for much of that time, which has been really frustrating - so I'm just starting to catch up with everyone's comments.
I love it
Happy to hear that, thank you, Hellen!

Thank you - the cold is almost completely gone now, but being away from home (and especially away from the internet) means I'm on catch-up!
This tag is just beautiful! I love it. ❤
Happy you enjoyed it - thank you.
Absolutely enchanting! I have been offline for several weeks so I am very much enjoying your new posts.
Oh, that's great to know that you're back to catch up. Thank you so much for this lovely comment.
THANK YOU FOR THIS!
You're very welcome!
Oh, that is so lovely to hear, thank you!!
I love your creations, such an inspiration. But I also like your voice! It' s so calming, you truly can record some relaxing records 😁
That's lovely feedback - thank you so much. Very happy that you are enjoying the words as well as the pictures.
Oh, how you inspire me!! One day soon I'ma going to give it a go... LOL. (I'm about a week away from having my craft supplies unpacked! )
Oh my - it will be fabulous to have access to your supplies again... like having a whole new toyshop to play in! Good luck with the unpacking, and I'm so happy to offer up inspiration to start playing again.
Your work is stunning! A delightful video, thank you!
So happy you enjoyed it - thank you very much.
This tag is gorgeous. I love watching your creative process!
Thank you so much for that thought.
Wonderful video! Pretty diffrent seing you with those colours, fun🤩 it turned out great!
Hope you’re feeling better very soon❤️
Pink and lace do turn up occasionally (but only very occasionally!)... Happy you enjoyed seeing them appear. Thank you for watching and commenting.
Hi Alison, I love watching what you do and have done for some time now. I usually don't comment on people's vlogs, as much as I love their creativity, however, this was absolutely lovely and I appreciate you sharing this with everyone. Thankyou.
I'm so delighted you felt moved to comment - your lovely words are very much appreciated, thank you.

wow! the colorisation lok like a rubon or an image already printed on the tag, it’s beautiful! Magnifique, j'adore !
Thank you so much for that lovely compliment! Merci beaucoup!
This tag is so pretty, and I enjoyed the watercoloring!
Thank you - very happy to hear that!
I really enjoyed this composition thank you...
Happy to hear that - thank you for taking the time to let me know.
Amazing!!!!!❤❤❤

Thank you so much.
Very lovely video and narration.
Thank you very much for that lovely feedback.
Stunning tag.... so sophisticated, thankyou for sharing your artistic skills 😊
Thank you so much for such a lovely comment.
had to catch my breath on the reveal of the stamping over the color--just beautiful. I have to get this stamp set now lol. :)
It really is an exceptionally detailed image - well worth the re-stamping! Thanks so much for watching and your lovely comment.
Beautiful tag! ❤ Thanks for sharing.
Happy you enjoyed it!
Beautiful ❤
Thank you so much.
It’s beautiful, I love your style, I just wish I could generate the same beauty! Thanks so much 🦋🌿
I bet you can... it takes time and practice (but that's really another word for playtime!). So happy you enjoyed the video - thank you for watching and commenting.
Hi, so wonderful coloured tag…..
Thank you very much!
Very pretty
Thank you very much.
So glad I found you. I loved watching your video of making the autumn colors for die cutting leaves and am waiting for The die cutting video! 😍
Coming soon!! I'll be getting the die-cutting machine out (and the camera) as soon as I get back from my work trip. Should be up to watch next Saturday, all being well!
Will you be making a die cutting video of the leaves?
@@w0rdsandp1ctures great! I look forward to it. Safe travels to you!
It's ready and waiting for you now!!
@@w0rdsandp1ctures Yay! Thanks so much!
j'adore les roses mais j'ai pas de distress coloring mais necolor 2 c'est exactement la même chose Superbe tag !! merci
Merci beaucoup! And yes, of course, use anything you have in your supplies. (I wouldn't say they are EXACTLY the same - I have some Neocolors too - but they will do a beautiful job in any case!) Thank you so much for watching and commenting.
🥰🥰🥰
Thank you!
It's one of the more recent releases from Tim Holtz, so yes, it's definitely available.(In fact, Stampers Anonymous doesn't withdraw any of the Tim Holtz stamp sets - they are all always available, right back to the beginning.)
If you're in the US, it will be in many, many online craft stores.
Very pretty, excellent shading. Where do you get those tags please? Vicki
Such a beautiful tag, A lesson of shaded colours. You've answered. Question for us, is it a rose or a peony 😊
@@w0rdsandp1ctures Thank you Allison. Much appreciated!
Hello Allison,
I just found your videos a few days ago and I am very happy to get new points of view through them. Never thought about stamping again after colouration. I'll give it a go as soon as possible. Thanks for the inspiration. Have a nice sunny Sunday wherever you live. Best wishes from Germany. 😃
PS: Do you have some more information about the tags? They are really great! Thanks in advance!
Happy you found your way here - welcome! (Just the one L in Alison though - I'm a UK Alison not a US Allison - though I'm now based in the Czech Republic, where my grandparents were from originally.)
So pleased to hear you are finding inspiration in the videos.
I'll try to make tags of my own. This should be possible with appropriate paper, stamps and stamp ink to “age” the paper.
Perfect idea!
Great project!! Where did you find the Prima Tag pad?
Happy you like it. I bought the tag pad nearly a decade ago, so I'm guessing it's no longer produced by Prima, I'm afraid.
🙋♀️👍💕🇺🇸
Thank you!
Hi, Alison, where did you buy the tags from, they look extra long? Love the colour combination that you always get.
I don’t look girly at all, but must say often it just explodes out in my work…all to my surprise
It’s lovely as always, interesting to see all the variations, I would have stayed with a couple, just shows the infinite possibilities …
I can’t find those PRIMA TAGS I fell in love with- is it a while you have them ?? any help to the name or where I can find them ?
I will havev to make them up with stamps...😵💫😂..thank you❤
If you could answer a question I have, I would like to know what size is your stamping pad by Tim Holtz? Please. Thank you 🙏
I googled "Tim Holtz stamp platform size" and got the answer 8.5 x 8.5 inches (21.5 x 21.5cm).
If you're interested in seeing a bit more of them in action, comparing different ways of applying the colour, you could take a look at the video where I'm swatching them: th-cam.com/video/hMFUm9M7McM/w-d-xo.html and do check out Tim Holtz's own video introducing them, where he gives lots of details about the reasoning behind how he created them to be different from other pencils: timholtz.com/distress-watercolor-pencils/
Hope that's of some help - thank you for watching and commenting. Apologies for the delay in responding. I'm just back from a busy working trip to the UK - without internet for much of that time, which has been really frustrating - so I'm just starting to catch up with everyone's comments.
@@w0rdsandp1ctures Thank you for taking your time to give a great explanation!!
Find it disconcerting you are working on your stamping platform.
In what way disconcerting?
