I just did this with glass ornaments for our Christmas tree this yr. I was looking for some personalized ornaments for my kids and everyone wanted like $20+ for just 1. I said nope, I'll do it myself, and I did. They turned out better than all the ones I'd seen for such a high price.
I love tumblers. They make great gifts for anyone and can put so many designs on them.

There is a mini Clover 2 iron with different attachments that would be perfect for putting vinyl on cups like that.
Can I use my tumbler press instead of an iron? It seels like it would be so much easier.
I use a mug press and a heat gun to do this all the time. My heat gun works so much better thought
At what temperature and for how long on mug press?
Diane Brown I set my temp for whatever my htv recommences for that material but usally I set for 330 unless I’m working with printable vinyl then that I set at 380
What setting do you use on your heat gun? I've always been curious if that worked but just haven't given it a go yet

Can I use HTV on powdered coated stainless steel tumbler? If so do I need to seal it?
I’ve had luck with the powder coated cups like this but not so much plain silver... any tips for those? Love your sweater!

I did this on a tumbler and the iron scratched up the finish on my tumbler, so be very careful with that iron. I would probably try the heat gun method next time.

Is it possible to player HTV onto regular vinyl then put it on the tumbler or will I still need to actually heat it?
I've never used HTV for things like this. I always use the sticker vinyl. Is HTV better for these things?

Hi is it possible to use non glitter htv on a tumbler?
Sure but you would probably be better off using adhesive
@@CuttinCornersVinyl okay. I have an order of tumblers to do and I want to find the best way to adhere vinyl.
Glitter htv is easier to work with than glitter psv. But permanent adhesive will work beautifully. Make sure you let it for at least 24 hours and try to keep your corners rounded ( pointed corners lift easier). I always take a hair dryer or heat gun on a low setting over the vinyl to ( not to close or hot) to get it to really seal to the cup.
How did you get the top and bottom of the letters on the sides to touch the middle initial?

How did you mange to line the transfer paper to the line on the cup? Do you use a template?

How many seconds do you set your press to when you do the tumblers? I saw another lady mentioned she puts her temp at 330 for glitter? Thanks a bunch!!
I don't set a timer, I do a few seconds at a time and stop pressing when the vinyl is stuck, because I don't want to overcook it.
Kapton tape and a cradle would make this sooooo much easier.
Why would we use HTV vinyl versus the regular vinyl? That looks like a pain to do.
She used the HTV because she had a specific color she liked - the HTV is also thinner than the 651
I tried using HTV and a heat press and the adhesive "bleed" any suggestions on how to prevent this?
Lower temp. Don't press as long. If glue is seeping then your melting it to much.

What temp do you set the cup press and long?
Go to the manufacturer site and look up the instructions for the specific material you are using.
Have you ever tried with a heat gun?
Specialty Materials has such awesome colors and I agree that the color choice is awesome but I'd probably still use pressure sensitive vinyl....just saying! :)

how long will the htv last on it after washing? I attempted it once and some stars and letters didn't stay on. will have to try again.
I've run cups with both Oracal 651 and HTV thru the dishwasher (was an accident, but still) and they came out fine. The key is to make sure you clean the surface very very well (I'm a fan of denatured alcohol for this) and waiting the 24 hrs after you put the vinyl on the mug to start using / putting water on it.
This is really cute! Is there a specific reason you used HTV vs regular permanent vinyl?
The HTV is thinner, doesn't have as much of a raised feel as 651 does IMO
